Fans Spotted Pete Davidson’s New ‘Kim’ Tattoo In The Photo He Texted To Kanye West

Pete Davidson has made some random tattoo choices in the past. The SNL star has a “Shaolin” emblazoned across his abs and both Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Hillary Clinton profiles inked on his body. Now, it seems as though the budding astronaut can add a tribute to his girlfriend Kim Kardashian to the list.

In a recent flurry of texts that Davidson sent to Kardashian’s ex-husband Kanye West, the proverbial “shot heard round the world,” was Davidson’s photo reply to West’s “Where are you right now?” question. “In bed with your wife,” Davidson replied, with a selfie of his bare-chested self laying in bed.

https://twitter.com/wowthatshiphop/status/1503068090116018177/photo/2

Surely this image had Kanye fuming, but he might’ve been even angrier had he noticed what appears to be a new tattoo on Davidson’s right shoulder that says “KIM.” For all of the Pete Davidson tattoo enthusiasts, the placement is directly below the RBG tat and the ink looks especially dark (aka fresh) in the image.

The Davidson vs Kanye feud continues to show signs of boiling over after Kanye and The Game made another video for ‘Eazy’ where a CGI Davidson gets beat up. Davidson and Kardashian have only been dating since October of last year, but tattoo indicates that he is clearly committed to the relationship long-term, just as much as he is still committed to Hilary Clinton…

Ken Watanabe And Ansel Elgort Team Up To Fight Crime In HBO Max’s Trailer For ‘Tokyo Vice’

Baby Driver himself Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe are starring in HBO Max‘s upcoming series Tokyo Vice, which will begin streaming on April 7th.

The series is loosely inspired by the life and memoir of Jake Adelstein, played by Egort, an American journalist who relocated to Tokyo as a young reporter in the ’90s to cover the police beat. Adelstein quickly learns that things are not what they seem in the crime-ridden city, and it’s even harder for them to accept an American on their team.

Watanabe portrays Hiroto Katagiri, a detective in the organized crime division of the Tokyo Police Department, who becomes a mentor to Adelstein while he learns the ins and outs of organized crime. Also starring is Rinko Kikuchi, Rachel Keller, Ella Rumpf, Hideaki Ito, Show Kasamatsu, and Tomohisa Yamashita.

The pilot was shot by acclaimed Miami Vice director Michael Mann on-location in Tokyo. There will be eight episodes in total, with three episodes premiering on Thursday, April 7th, followed by two episodes debuting every Thursday leading up to the finale on April 28th. A series based on Adelstein’s memoir has been in the works for nearly a decade, and Daniel Radcliffe was initially attached to star, though that ship sailed into production hell. HBO Max then picked up the series in 2019.

Dolly Parton declines Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination, says she hasn’t ‘earned the right’

Few famous folks are as universally beloved as Dolly Parton. Somehow, she has managed to attract the admiration and respect of people across ages, races, regions, political persuasions and musical tastes. Even people who don’t particularly like country music [raises hand] love Dolly.

Considering how much of a joke people made of her in her younger years, her broad appeal is impressive. It’s also super simple. Dolly Parton is a genuinely good human being. She is generous, she is kind, she handles herself with class when people try to mess with her, and she continually does good deeds without boasting. Don’t let the facade of the big hair and makeup fool you—Dolly Parton is as real as they come.

Now, once again, Dolly is winning hearts with her humility after being nominated to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Dolly was first nominated to the honor in February, joining the likes of Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, Eminem, Eurythmics, Rage Against the Machine, Lionel Richie and Dionne Warwick as potential inductees. But in posts on Facebook and Twitter, she shared that she “must respectfully bow out” of the running and explained why.

She wrote:

“Dolly here! Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don’t feel that I have earned that right. I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out. I do hope that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will understand and be willing to consider me again – if I’m ever worthy. This has, however, inspired me to put out a hopefully great rock ‘n’ roll album at some point in the future, which I have always wanted to do! My husband is a total rock ‘n’ roll freak, and has always encouraged me to do one. I wish all of the nominees good luck and thank you again for the compliment. Rock on!”

So not only does the 76-year-old country star think she hasn’t earned a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, she also doesn’t want her name to split the vote for those she feels do deserve the nomination.

People have responded with praise for Dolly’s character. Even Dictionary.com weighed in, saying she defined the word “humility.”

People also disagreed with her claim that she doesn’t deserve the nomination, basically saying that her awesomeness as a human being qualifies her for any and every hall of fame.

Nailed it.

Even within the question of “Is she really rock ‘n’ roll, though?” people shared differing opinions. While she is a country music singer, her songwriting has crossed genres, and other musicians whose music is not purely rock ‘n’ roll have already been inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

We can quibble about the technicalities of what counts as rock ‘n’ roll all day long, but it doesn’t really matter because Dolly has spoken. She may not be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this time around, but she’s definitely been inducted into the America’s Most Beloved Celebrities of All Time Hall of Fame.

Keep being Dolly, Dolly. You’ve already won the hearts of people everywhere and that’s what counts the most.

Looking for a simple way to improve your family’s well-being? Try crafting together.

It’s National Craft Month! We’re celebrating all things crafty and highlighting crafts that do good. Crafting is fun, of course, but it can also encourage sustainability through upcycling, promote education and connection through teaching others, and nurture our well-being through relaxation and mindful creativity.

I recently got a taste of all of those benefits with my own family.

“Mom, I feel like doing something crafty,” my pre-teen son told me one evening. I pointed out that we have a whole cabinet full of craft materials he could use, but he wanted a specific project.

“Okay, let me think.” I told him. “Why don’t we make collages?”

I pulled out the scissors, glue, some old magazines, scrapbook paper, and a piece of cardstock for each of us, and sat down at the table with him.

I couldn’t remember the last time I’d set aside time to do something artistic, and soon I found myself wondering why I don’t do it more often. It felt good—refreshing and soothing at the same time.

As we each cut and arranged images and words that spoke to us, we talked about the things we were choosing for our collages and why. We discussed the different colors and how they make us feel. As we worked, our conversations meandered here and there, from deep and meaningful to light and silly. It all felt important.

One of the few good things the pandemic has given our family is time for creative activities we might not have made space for before. In fact, a study on families in the U.S and South Korea found that more parents have purchased more arts and crafts-related merchandise and encouraged their kids to engage in more creative endeavors since COVID-19 arrived. Parents have seen crafts as a way to keep kids occupied in an educational way.

In my personal experience, it’s also a great way to bond as a family. Deena of ABCDeeLearning says that it’s important for families to do crafts together because it helps create memories with one another. But families who aren’t particularly crafty might not know where to start.

“The basic craft supplies that families should have on hand are washable paint, acrylic paint, pom-poms, pipe cleaners, art trays, paper plates, beads, clothespins, colored cardstock paper, markers, crayons, and toilet paper rolls,” she says. “I love using recycled materials like toilet paper rolls to create with. If you have these supplies on hand, you can do A TON of different crafts.”

Deena recommends starting with painting crafts if you’re new to crafting, as it’s easy to do and adapt to different ages. It also doesn’t require a ton of supplies. As families get more used to the idea of crafting regularly, they can expand to things like paper-cutting crafts, or fabric and sewing crafts, but crafts don’t have to be complicated to be fun.

Courtesy of ABCDeena

Crafting can also be legitimately therapeutic. In fact, a study from New Zealand shows that the feeling of calm I had while collaging with my son wasn’t a coincidence.

Researcher Tamlin Conner from the University of Otago and two American researchers surveyed 650 young adults whose online diaries describe their daily activities and their sense of well-being. Then they analyzed the participants’ engagement in creative endeavors, their levels of positive and negative emotions and what the researchers called “flourishing”— their overall sense of meaning, purpose, engagement, and social connection.

What Conner and her team found? Engaging in creative activities one day predicts a positive sense of well-being the next day.

“Research often yields complex, murky, or weak findings,” Conner told Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center. “But these patterns were strong and straightforward: Doing creative things today predicts improvements in well-being tomorrow. Full stop.”

And it didn’t matter whether people were naturally creative or not.

Courtesy of Brother USA

“We were actually pleased that personality made no difference in the link between creativity and well-being,” she said. “This suggests that everyone and anyone can benefit from introducing creativity into their daily lives.”

Making time and space for crafts can help you reap the benefits of creative activity for your own well-being, and also help you connect on a different level as a family. If you’re not sure where to start, we love Brother USA’s blog of resources. They have a range of crafts for all ages and skill levels that can easily be done as a family, as well as products that can make your craft projects pop. (For instance, the Brother ScanNCut DX SDX85 is a cool tool that lets you scan and automatically precision-cut your own handmade designs. We’re also big fans of their P-touch Embellish ELITE which allows you to customize ribbons and tapes right from your smartphone.)

The time we have with our kids at home is precious and fleeting, so let’s make the most of it, wisely and creatively.

HBO Max’s Terrific ‘Harley Quinn’ Is Getting A Spinoff That Will Be Like ‘Cheers’ For Batman Villains

It’s been awhile since we last checked in on HBO Max’s delightful Harley Quinn animated series. Inarguably too long. But there’s been some developments since the whole Catwoman… thing.

Co-creator Patrick Schumacker recently tweeted, “Just finished the first audio mix of @dcharleyquinn SEASON 3! Call your friends! It’s happening! It’s happeniiiiiiiiing!” which means season three should be here (hopefully) by the end of the year.

Schumacker also revealed at South by Southwest over the weekend that Harley Quinn is getting a spinoff focused on Kite Man, Poison Ivy’s 69 joke-loving ex-fiancée. The series will have Kite Man, voiced by Matt Oberg, buying Noonan’s Bar in Gotham and turning it into a hangout for various goons. “He tries to run the bar by himself, but it doesn’t turn out so easy,”Schumacker explained. “We have Harley and Ivy appear in the first episode, but after that we have with different goons and villains appearing every episode like Lex Luthor and Bane. It will be kind of like Cheers for supervillains.”

I can picture it already.

[Bane walks into the bar]
[Everyone yells “Bane!” like “Norm!” on Cheers]

I hope it runs for 15 seasons. And Robert Pattinson becomes the new Condiment King.

There’s no information on when the spinoff will premiere, but until whenever it happens, you should watch (or rewatch) Harley Quinn. You won’t regret it.

Dua Lipa’s ‘Levitating’ Is Officially The Longest-Charting Song By A Woman On The Hot 100

Dua Lipa has slowly but surely been taking over the pop realm, and the success of her second album, Future Nostalgia — despite not being able to tour behind it due to the pandemic — has been pretty impressive. After issuing quite a few different iterations of the album, The Moonlight Edition, and the Club Future Nostalgia remix version, the pop star has finally been able to get out on the road and give fans her live show.

And maybe it’s the excitement around her tour, or just the resilience of the song itself, but one of Future Nostalgia‘s early singles, “Levitating,” got a huge boost this week. According to Billboard, the song has officially become the longest-charting song by a woman to stay on the Hot 100. After a whopping 70 weeks, the track passed up the 69-week (nice) run of LeAnn Rimes country ballad, “How Do I Live” that ruled a stretch between 1997-98. “Levitating” joins a very small crew of songs — only five (!) total — to spend 70 weeks charting, including The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” which did 90 frames from 2019-2021.

Aside from Abel and Dua, the other three include “Radioactive,” by Imagine Dragons with 87 weeks, “Sail” by AWOLNATION with 79 weeks, and “I’m Yours,” Jason Mraz with 76 weeks.

The Creator Of ‘Minx’ Wildly Underestimated The Internet’s Thirst For Jake Johnson’s Chest Hair

Jake Johnson is known for his comedic timing and getting cast as the snarky, 30-something man-child type he perfected in New Girl, and he leveraged beautifully in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, just FYI. So Johnson was definitely up for the challenge of stretching his acting chops by playing the slick, yet multi-faceted pornographer Doug Renetti in the new HBO Max series Minx. However, show creator Ellen Rapoport wasn’t fully prepared for all of the thirst out there for her leading man, particularly his chest hair, which Johnson works, and works, hard thanks to the ’70s fashions featured in the series.

Via Thrillist:

Rapoport had no idea that casting Internet Boyfriend Johnson would add another angle to her show about female desire. “I did not know that there was so much thirst for Jake Johnson until I started reading Twitter two weeks ago,” she says. “I’m so happy people like his chest hair and open shirts. I would have opened them more if I knew there was such an appetite for them.”

For Johnson, the opportunity to bare his lusty chest hair wasn’t so much his concern as getting to play a smooth-talking, yet oddly endearing character who reminded him of his dad.

“Doug reminds me of my uncles and parts of my dad,” Johnson told Thrillist. “These salesmen, who you’re not sure if they’re on the good team or the bad team. They have tons of heart and morality, but in the same sense, they’re really shady. And you’re like, ‘I don’t know if I can trust this person.’ Those parts don’t come my way very often.” And you don’t often get to look like this either. Real win-win here.

Minx starts streaming March 17 on HBO Max.

A ‘Cobra Kai’ Star Delivered A Slight Gut Punch While Joking About His Character’s Death

The Karate Kid franchise shows no signs of dying anytime soon (in fact, it’s arguably never been more full of life). However, one Cobra Kai star joked (while on the Critics’ Choice red carpet over the weekend) that his character would soon bite the dust.

That actor, Jacob Bertrand, portrays the fantastic Hawk, who has already been through plenty after having his trademark hairstyle chopped away from his head. That moment felt symbolically crushing, particularly in a franchise that celebrates the underdogs, but Hawk went on to win his division (fair and square) at the All Valley Karate Tournament.

Now, the show’s viewers have been interested in knowing when Season 5 will arrive (and we’ve talked about that elsewhere), but Entertainment Tonight touched base with both Bertrand and Ralph Macchio to dig for some content hints. Macchio, of course, went in hard to discuss the show’s brilliant interweaving of generations that inform one another. The show does so marvelously and admirably and in a way that a lot of revivals and reboots don’t seem to grasp at all. And then Macchio hinted at twists, and Bertrand, joker that he is, decided to declare, “Yeah, I die.”

Ouch.

Fortunately, this is all (we hope) a joke, but the truth of the matter is that Bertrand did inform us that Season 5 is in already the bag: “We actually just wrapped,” he told us in early January while adding that there were “things I’m not even allowed to bring up about Season 5.”

And surely, no one will die. Alright, I would not be upset if Terry Silver died. Let Anthony LaRusso, who is still the show’s worst character, finally prove himself by burying Silver in a hail of popsicle sticks. Justice.

Netflix’s ‘Cobra Kai’ is currently streaming the first four seasons on Netflix.

New Mexico approved free college and people are calling on all states to follow their lead

The student loan crisis that has been brewing for decades has reached a fever pitch in the U.S. The cost of college tuition has been on a steep upward trajectory since 1980, far outpacing wages and resulting in many student borrowers being buried in mountains of debt they have little chance of repaying.

In fact, many students end up not making a dent in their loans, even after paying on them for years. One report found that even among students who made voluntary payments to their Navient loans during the student loan payment freeze, 63% were “underwater,” meaning they owe more on their loans than what they originally borrowed. Some even owe more than 150% of the original loan amount. And these are people who are actively trying to pay down their loans, making payments when they technically didn’t even have to.

It’s truly a crisis, which is why we saw such a push for student loan forgiveness being put on the agenda during the 2020 election. That hasn’t happened, but at least one state is taking a big step toward mitigating the college debt problem.

New Mexico has passed a bill that makes all in-state public and tribal colleges—both 2-year and 4-year—free for all residents, as long as they enroll in at least six credits and maintain a GPA of 2.5. That means residents can take classes part-time or full-time without worrying about tuition.

The New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship Act, which Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed into law March 4, makes New Mexico the first state to waive tuition for all public colleges and universities, regardless of a family’s income. Some states offer free community college programs and a handful of states have state-sponsored scholarships for some students at state universities. New Mexico has just upped the game, waiving tuition across the board.

And people are loving it.

The signing of the law was received as “good news” by those who advocate for affordable higher education.

Some asked why all states or the federal government don’t do the same.

It’s not an unheard-of idea, by any means. More than a handful of countries in Europe and some in South America, Africa and Southeast Asia offer free college education.

In her speech given prior to signing the law, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham explained how the law will help provide flexibility and opportunity to people from all different backgrounds and circumstances and remove so many of the barriers that prevent people from getting the education they need or desire.

“College is too damn expensive,” she said.

Indeed, it is. Congrats to New Mexico for this historic move to make higher education more accessible for everyone.

Watch Gov. Grisham speak at the 20:30 mark:
