Shenseea And Megan Thee Stallion’s Eye-Popping, WAP-Esque ‘Lick’ Video Offers One Sweet Deal

Shenseea has made quite the name for herself in the dancehall lane. She’s just a few months removed from landing two guest appearances on Kanye West’s tenth album Donda where she’s featured on “Ok Ok Pt. 2” and “Pure Souls.” Shenseea has also worked with artists like Tyga, Masego, Swae Lee, and more, but today, she returns with what will surely go down as one of her biggest collaborations. Shenseea and Megan Thee Stallion team up for the new song “Lick,” which comes with quite the music video that will certainly earn itself plenty of attention.

Through the song (and its raunchy music video) Shenseea and Megan Thee Stallion look to offer proper instructions on just how to lick. Context clues from the song should help clarify what is being licked, and if that’s not enough, the track’s accompanying music video should do the job. Shenseea and Megan strut their stuff in Candyland throughout the visual which features lollipops, ice cream, and other tasty treats.

The song arrives after Megan released a teaser ad with Cheetos that saw the rapper gearing up to meet some exotic animals. Prior to that, she signed a first-look production deal with Netflix.

21 Savage Declares That It’s Time For A New Album

The music world hasn’t gone too long with an album from 21 Savage. He ended his 2021 year with two singles, “No Debate” and “Big Smoke,” songs that arrived after a period filled with guest features alongside names like Drake, Rick Ross, Roddy Ricch, Nardo Wick, Young Nudy, and more. In 2020, he teamed up with Metro Boomin for Savage Mode II which gave both him and Metro the second No. 1 albums of their careers. Despite all of this, it’s been a little over three years since 21 Savage dropped a solo album, which was 2018’s I Am > I Was, and he’s looking to change that soon.

The Atlanta rapper teased the project in a tweet from the Billboard Charts Twitter account which said that he was tied for fifth place with the most entries on the singles chart this year. “No album in a year and a half tho…it’s time,” 21 Savage. That tweet references Savage Mode II with Metro Boomin but it’s been even longer without a solo album from him, a streak that will hopefully end in the coming months.

The tweet from 21 Savage comes after he and Baby Tate joined JID for their “Surround Sound” collaboration. Prior to that, he teamed up with Gunna on “Thought I Was Playing,” where he insisted that Kanye West broke up with Kim Kardashian and not the other way around as we all know it.

Kyrsten Sinema Got Scorched By The Arizona Democratic Party For Ditching Them On One (Important) Issue Too Many

Democrats supposedly have control of the Senate, but two right-leaning Democrats, Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin refused to vote with their party in what’s only the latest of departures for them. This issue, however, will bring far-reaching effects because it affects the very foundation of our country. That would be Manchin and Sinema’s effective shutting down of voting rights legislation — The Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, which would have helped improve access to voting by marginalized communities that are affected by gerrymandering and the like.

After this move, the Arizona Democratic Party appears to have had enough and issued a statement about Sinema. The timing says a lot here, given that this didn’t really happen when Sinema raved about Mitch McConnell (while denying that she’d go Republican) or when she gave a literal thumbs-down on a minimum wage vote. Here’s part of the Arizona Democratic Party’s response (from Chair Raquel Terán), via Raw Story:

“This should not be a partisan issue — the duty to protect our most fundamental right to vote is one that we all share. Despite last night’s outcome, our fight to protect the rights of Arizonans by passing the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act continues.

“We were counting on Senator Sinema to fight for Arizona, find a path forward, and protect our democracy, but on this issue she has fallen short… Right now, Arizona is ground-zero for the modern-day fight for voting rights, and we don’t have any time to waste.”

“She has fallen short” seems like a pretty clear-cut way to say that the ADP has had enough of Sinema’s antics. As well, her largest donor has denounced Sinema, which does not bode well for her reelection, at least as a Democrat.

Geraldo Rivera Wasn’t Here For Jesse Watters Suggesting That Biden Only ‘Allegedly’ Broke An Election Record

Geraldo Rivera’s one of the only Fox News personalities these days who’s not diving into far-right territory. He’s not afraid to tell his fellow talking heads where he doesn’t agree, particularly when it comes to Tucker Carlson spreading anti-vaxxer misinformation. Recently, he went off on went off on “arrogant, selfish” antivaxxers, and he’s unafraid to say that he wants to kick them “in the ass” while also coming for Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld’s on The Five when they argue.

On Thursday afternoon, Jesse Watters slipped in a fast one and a twist on the Big Lie while declaring that Biden “allegedly got more votes than any other person in American history.” In response, Dana Perino signaled her agreement, yet Geraldo didn’t let it slip past him: “Why do you say allegedly?”

It’s worth noting that CBS News performed a fact check not too long ago to confirm that, yep, Joe Biden “[set] a new record with more than 81,284,000 vote” in 2020. That compares to Obama’s 69 million and Trump’s 74 million, even though Trump continues to bizarrely (and falsely) insist (with the occasional truthful slip-up) that the election was stolen from him.

With all of this said, it’s worth wondering how long Geraldo will hang at Fox News. He’s been there for decades, but then again, Chris Wallace (another rare independent thinker at the conservative news network) decided to head to CNN+ after an 18 year tenure. Or maybe Geraldo simply likes arguing with his co-workers, which seems awfully stressful.

Kodak Black’s Trespassing Charges From An Arrest In Florida Have Been Dropped

Kodak Black’s 2022 year didn’t start the way he hoped it would after he was arrested for trespassing in Florida on New Year’s Eve. This incident occurred at the Golden Acres public housing development in his hometown of Pompano Beach and it resulted in him spending the early hours of New Year’s Day behind bars. According to a report from TMZ at the time, Kodak was arrested on trespassing charges connected to a four-month-old cease-and-desist letter. However, three weeks later, Broward County prosecutors announced that will drop the charges against the rapper, something Kodak’s lawyer Bradford Cohen confirmed to Rolling Stone.

Cohen told the publication that the incident occurred while the rapper was visiting family. It was here that Kodak was detained while standing near his Lamborghini that was parked in a driveway. He was taken away by a deputy office who cited the cease-and-desist letter. Cohen noted that it’s “basic law” that a cease-and-desist letter is not the same as a trespass notice and added that a “landlord can’t trespass you if you’re invited by the person paying rent.”

“I think they made the arrest so they could search him and search his vehicle that was legally parked and try to find something that was a bigger charge than trespassing,” Cohen said to Rolling Stone. “I think it was embarrassing that they ended up arresting him for trespass, and the case was never filed on because there was no probable cause to make the arrest.”

Rolling Stone notes that The Broward County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday.

Nets Assistant David Vanterpool Got Fined For Reaching On The Court And Deflecting A Pass

Wednesday night’s game between the Wizards and Nets featured one of the weirdest no-calls the NBA has ever seen, in which Brooklyn assistant David Vanterpool reached onto the court and deflected a pass from Spencer Dinwiddie to Kyle Kuzma, leading to a Kessler Edwards steal.

Somehow, the official who was standing no more than 10 feet from Vanterpool missed that — despite Vanterpool looking as guilty as possible as he turned away in disbelief that he just tipped a ball that was in play — and allowed play to go on in what became a 119-118 Nets win. The Wizards, understandably, were furious about the situation, with Kuzma running down the court and fouling to stop play and talk to the official about it, and after the game acting Wizards head coach Joseph Blair said he’d never seen anything like it and was in “utter disbelief” at the no-call.

On Thursday, the NBA announced fines for the incident, with Vanterpool receiving a $10,000 fine and the Nets organization getting hit with a $25,000 fine for his hitting a ball in live play. It’s still rather unbelievable that it wasn’t seen live by the officials and the Wizards won’t feel much better about what became a massive lost possession in a one-point loss, but this puts a bow on one of the strangest in-game situations in recent memory.

The Nets Will Reportedly Trade Paul Millsap So He Can Find A ‘Greater’ Role

The Brooklyn Nets spent this offseason adding veteran role players in an effort to bolster their depth around Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving. Two of those have stood out to this point, as Patty Mills’ presence has been vital with the absence of Irving and Joe Harris for much of the season, while LaMarcus Aldridge has claimed the majority of the backup big minutes.

The other big signee on a minimum deal this offseason was Paul Millsap, who has played sparingly this season, particularly in the last month where he’s only played in three games since December 10th. Millsap to this point has simply been the odd man out in the rotation, with Aldridge playing well and Blake Griffin maintaining the same role he held last year. As such, the 36-year-old has apparently requested a trade, which the Nets will try to oblige in order to get Millsap to a situation where he can play a larger role.

The Chicago Bulls were reportedly in the mix for Millsap’s services this offseason before he chose Brooklyn, and given their depth chart at the four spot it’s very possible that they end up in the mix for the veteran. What a “greater contribution” means will likely dictate who else gets in the mix, as there are surely plenty of teams intrigued by the possibility of adding Millsap, but may not have guaranteed minutes available for him on a nightly basis.

Lauren Boebert Asked Jewish Visitors At The Capitol If They Were ‘Reconnaissance,’ And People Aren’t Buying Her ‘Joke’ Excuse

Rootin’ tootin’ Rep. Lauren Boebert can’t help herself. She’s chronically tossing out anti-Muslim remarks about her own congressional colleague (Ilhan Omar), and now, it seems that she’s moved on to cracking “jokes” while spotting yarmulke-wearing Jewish visitors at the U.S. Capitol. She might be better off simply tweeting gibberish or confusedly tweeting about John and Samuel Adams and receiving a lesson about the American Revolution, but let’s just say that she’s a lot like Marjorie Taylor Greene in not knowing when to quit.

Buzzfeed News is reporting that Boebert — hot on the heels of an hours-long standoff at a Texas synagogue — left a group of Jewish visitors (several members of which were sporting yarmulkes, led by a coordinator who is Orthodox with a customary beard) “confused” with her remarks. She asked the group if they were “reconnaissance,” which sure as heck suggests that she accused them of the hostile scouting of intel about the enemy. It sounds awfully close to Boebert suggesting that terrorists were afoot (the same mess she pulled on Ilhan Omar, in other words), from this Buzzfeed description:

One witness said the group, along with other members of Congress, was waiting for an elevator. When the doors opened, Boebert stepped out of the elevator and looked the group of visitors “from head to toe,” the witness said. Boebert then asked if they were there to conduct “reconnaissance.”

“When I heard that, I actually turned to the person standing next to me and asked, ‘Did you just hear that?’” a rabbi who was with the group told BuzzFeed News. “You know, I’m not sure to be offended or not,” the rabbi said. “I was very confused.” The rabbi added that “people are very sensitive” now, especially after what happened in Texas this past weekend, when an armed man held four people hostage at a synagogue.

In response to this report, Boebert texted Buzzfeed News to declare, “I saw a large group and made a joke.” She added, “I’m too short to see anyone’s yarmulkes.” And Boebert added that she was only “referencing the many comments that have been directed at her from Democrats” about how she was spotted giving a tour of a tunnel on the Capitol grounds a few days prior to the insurrection. Well, regardless of her “joke” excuse, people sure aren’t buying her explanation that she meant no harm, and they’re calling for action by someone (anyone?) in charge.

Charles Barkley Ripped The Lakers Front Office For ‘Putting That Trash Together’ And Blaming Westbrook And Vogel

The 2021-22 NBA season isn’t going according to plan for the Los Angeles Lakers. That was already the case before the calendar flipped to January but, at the moment, the Lakers have dropped five of the last six games and the level of drama seems to be increasing. Along the way, Magic Johnson criticized the team’s “lack of effort,” prompting LeBron James to also apologize to Lakers fans, and buzz indicates that Frank Vogel’s seat is extremely hot.

From there, Vogel elected to sit Russell Westbrook on the bench during a loss to the Indiana Pacers, and that didn’t exactly quiet the chatter. With that as the backdrop, Charles Barkley jumped into the fray on Thursday, teeing off on the team’s front office for “putting that trash together,” and he defended Westbrook and Vogel along the way.

“The way they are trying to throw Russell Westbrook and Frank Vogel under the bus is really pissing me off… I’m not gonna sit around like all these clowns on other networks who got their head up the Lakers booties. Now, they’re blaming Frank Vogel and Russell Westbrook,” Barkley said. “The people up top who put that trash together are running and hiding like cowards, saying ‘Oh it’s Frank, it’s Russ.’ You put all them old geezers out there. Listen, the best guy other than LeBron in the last month has been who? Stanley Johnson. For y’all to be bringing a guy who was on the street and he becomes your second best player, whoever running that trash out there gettin away with…it’s ridiculous man.”

Barkley isn’t exactly shy about expressing himself on TNT’s Inside The NBA on a weekly basis. Still, this rant stands out, particularly as Ernie Johnson is desperately trying to get the next segment queued up as Barkley continues to fire away — the entire desk laughing as Chuck yells about how “the Lakers still suck when we get back from this interview” is tremendous.

Of course, he’s not wrong in that the Lakers’ shaky situation is, at least in part, facilitated by flawed roster construction, as the Lakers put in most of their trade assets for Westbrook, eschewing floor spacing and the defense that keyed the team’s 2020 title run. When Barkley speaks, however, people listen, and these comments are likely to garner significant traction amid the Lakers’ ongoing mediocrity.
