Tom Cruise Reportedly Used A Private Jet To Deliver 300 Of His Vaunted Holiday Cakes To ‘Mission: Impossible’ Crew Members In Europe

Santa Claus may be content with a sleigh and a gaggle of reindeer, but only a PJ will do for Tom Cruise—Hollywood’s very own Kris Kringle. (Well, when he’s not berating his colleagues.) For years, Cruise has celebrated the holidays by handing out what is supposed to be a decidedly decadent and delicious white chocolate coconut cake to the people who have made it onto the actor’s “nice” list. And this year that apparently included 300 members of the Mission: Impossible 7 crew.

According to Page Six, the three-time Oscar nominee one-upped Santa by personally flying his private jet, stuffed with 300 cakes, from Los Angeles to London and gifting them to the crew of the upcoming seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise.

“Tom wanted to give the team on Mission: Impossible a treat for Christmas and decided that only cakes from his favorite bakery in LA would do,” someone with inside knowledge of Cruise’s random act of cake kindness told The Sun.

“He organized for the shop to make 300 cakes especially and they were then flown back to the UK on his jet,” the sourced continued. “It is extravagant, but Tom is an incredibly generous person and he wanted to do something special for everyone who has worked on the movie with him.”

The dessert—a now-famous coconut Bundt cake with bits of white chocolate, cream cheese frosting, and a dusting of toasted coconut—is the culinary brainchild of Doan’s Bakery in Woodland Hills, California. It’s beloved by Cruise, who Page Six claims personally flew the confections across the Atlantic. And while it was surely a treat for all those who received them, one can’t help but think that a cake is the least Cruise could have done.

As was widely reported, the making of the upcoming Mission: Impossible movie was no easy feat. Filming on the longtime Cruise-fronted franchise originally kicked off in Venice in February 2020, but was soon waylaid due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Production on the film continued to start up then stop again throughout the rest of the year. In December 2020, the world heard the audio of a fed-up Cruise—who was tired of people not adhering to the strict COVID regulations they were filming under—losing his sh*t on the movie’s crew because he believed that they were “the gold standard,” and were not living up to that when not following all on-set coronavirus protocols.

“I’m on the phone with every f*cking studio at night, insurance companies, producers and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies,” Cruise bellowed. “We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf*ckers. I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever!”

After news of Cruise’s rant leaked, the actor reportedly ranted again, with one insider noting that “Tom just can’t take any more after all the lengths they have gone to just to keep filming at all. He’s upset others aren’t taking it as seriously as him. In the end, he’s the one who carries the can.”

While it was reported that amidst all the growing tension and Cruise’s outbursts, some crew members did walk off the set. No word on whether those individuals are regretting the decision after learning of Santa Cruise’s totally Hollywood-style dessert delivery.

Trump Supporters Are Now Going Door To Door Trying To Drum Up Evidence Of ‘Voter Fraud,’ And People Are Pissed About It

It’s been over a year since Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election, but his supporters are still convinced voter fraud is to blame. So convinced, in fact, that some MAGA followers are now harassing their neighbors in order to prove their theories of election tampering.

According to a new report from Buzzfeed, a volunteer grassroots organization called the New Hampshire Voter Integrity Group, has been knocking on the doors of residents in small towns, hoping to find evidence of voter fraud. The group is led by a woman named Marylyn Todd, who took a leave of absence from her job to organize the canvassing project, which uses an app and the voter identification information that’s free to the public to track down suspected election fraud. Though the group refused to explain why certain towns and citizens were targeted, it’s pretty clear that none of the residents who’ve been contacted by these Trump supporters are happy about it, especially when volunteers began asking questions about their political affiliations and who they voted for the 2020 election.

“One Waterville Valley resident said that’s exactly what two people at his doorway asked him — at which point he gave them five seconds to leave,” the article says. “The canvassers did clear out, but the man said he was furious that ‘two dumbasses’ had come calling asking about personal information: ‘I was enraged. I am to this day offended at the whole notion that there was any widescale election fraud. … I was like, sputtering mad. I called the police dispatch.’”

Another resident reportedly told a canvasser to get the hell off his property, to which the volunteer replied, “That’ll be a nice trip, thank you. I’ll see you there.”

Multiple police reports have been filed though Republican officials claim no laws are being broken at this time. Unfortunately, New Hampshire isn’t the only state where Trump supporters (joined by QAnon members) are harassing voters looking for evidence of election fraud that just doesn’t exist. In Colorado, members of the far-right militia the Three Percenters, have discussed carrying firearms to protect canvassers as they knock on doors. In Utah, Trump supporters volunteering to canvas must sign NDAs and record their interactions with residents.

This very public display of what it means to be a sore loser would be sad if it wasn’t so bizarre and if it didn’t make regular Americans so damn uncomfortable in their own homes.

“I just assumed by the end of the conversation they were looking to prove voter fraud in favor of Trump,” one New Hampshire resident said of her interaction with canvassing Trump supporters. “Primarily because who else is talking about an election that’s way over?”

2022 is the return of New Year’s resolutions. Here’s an easy way to keep your wellness goals.

The trials and tribulations of the pandemic have forced many to put off their personal growth goals because life has been far too overwhelming. But it looks like things are slowly turning around and people are beginning to feel hopeful about the new year.

Many are looking forward to January 2022 as a time they can once again focus on self-improvement. Joanna Dickerson, Associate Professor of Psychology at Edith Cowan University, says that more than half of people’s annual resolutions are focused on either “diet” (29%) or “exercise” (24%).

Dickerson also says that our goals will “more likely endure” when “linked to higher personal values.” So if you’re looking to set a health-related resulution for 2022, why not give yourself a better chance at success by committing to the loftier goal of making wellness a way of life?

Dickerson adds that one of the most important things to do to achieve your wellness goal is to “set yourself up for success.”

“Set resolutions are specific plans,” Dickerson writes. “These should account for factors such as time, place, and people. Specific plans provide the mental cues needed to stick to our goals.”

Wouldn’t it be a lot easier to make wellness your new way of life in the new year by having balanced meals sent regularly to your front door? Even though that seems like a budget-buster, Blue Apron has made eating right affordable with home-delivered meal kits starting as low as $7.49 a serving.

Blue Apron’s Wellness meals are well-balanced and nutritionist-approved, with vegetarian and 600 calorie or fewer options.

These Wellness meals allow you to keep your New Year’s goals on track with pre-portioned dinners that fit your lifestyle. Sticking to a day-to-day wellness routine is so much easier when you aren’t tempted to run out and grab fast food because you didn’t have enough time to go shopping.

A big reason why people love Blue Apron is that cooking their meals is a lot of fun and helps them learn new skills. However, cooking Blue Apron meals also has wonderful therapeutic benefits. “Cooking is self-care at its most basic and nourishing,” Meg Bowman, a clinical nutritionist at Nourish Integrative Solutions, tells Bustle. “It is alchemy—you take ingredients and transform them into something delicious that feeds body and spirit.”

Psychologists also say that cooking has amazing benefits for mental health because it has a tangible benefit. It’s called “behavioral activation” which means finding meaning in tasks instead of breezing through them. Plus, there’s nothing that feels better than preparing a balanced, delicious meal for your family.

Blue Apron Wellness meals are also great for your mental well-being because you won’t get stressed out about last-minute meal planning or exceeding your monthly meal budget.

Wellness isn’t just about what you eat but the love and care that goes into preparing the meal, too.

The great thing is with Blue Apron Wellness you can stick to your holistic health goals without sacrificing taste.

How do Tahini Chicken and Warm Kale Salad sound? How about a Seared Shrimp and Orzo Pasta? Doesn’t Sheet Pan Yuzu-Orange Salmon with Roasted Vegetables sound amazing?

But for those nights when you just don’t have enough time to throw a pre-prepared meal together, Blue Apron also has new Wellness Heat & Eat options that are ready in just a few minutes.

If you’re looking to make 2022 the year you recommit to reaching your holistic health and wellness goals, Blue Apron can help you get started and keep you on track by delivering balanced, affordable, and easy-to-prepare meals right to your door. Alicia Keys — “Come For Me” Feat. Lucky Daye, Khalid

After dropping her 2020 album Alicia, Alicia Keys is back with yet another LP — this time titled Keys (see what she did there?). The two-disc album is a collection of soaring ballads including the stand out track “Come For Me” with Khalid and Lucky Daye. The track is R&B at its best, featuring loved up lyrics and a sizzling beat. “This album is gonna F*CK your head up,” Keys said about the release. “I hope it becomes an instant classic for you! It’s Gonna take you somewhere so special.”

Monsta X — “You Problem”

This week marked the release of K-pop group Monsta X’s English-language album The Dreaming. The 10-track release is jam-packed with hits and their song “You Problem” is no different. The effortlessly fun tune is Monsta X’s latest dance-ready release. With a snapping beat and far-reaching vocals, Monsta X proves they’re a pop force to be reckoned with.

MAX — “Butterflies” Feat. Fletcher

MAX’s hit track “Butterflies” has been heard everywhere from radio airwaves to an episode of The Bachelorette. It was originally written as a love letter to his wife and now, the singer has tapped fellow pop songwriter Fletcher to hop on a new version of the song. Fletcher’s verse adds to the romantic nature of the track while also showcasing her captivating voice.

Rauw Alejandro, Chencho Corleone — “Desesperados”

Puerto Rican musician Rauw Alejandro released his wildly popular 2021 album Vice Versa last June but he’s now sharing even more music from that era. His new track “Desesperados” with Chencho Corleone is Alejandro at his best. The upbeat track features rapid-fire verses about falling in love for a night draped over a classic reggaeton beat.

Julia Wolf — “Bottle Of Advil”

Up-and-coming pop sensation Julia Wolf returned with a deluxe edition of her breakout EP Girls In Purgatory this week and it featured the heart-tugging track “Bottle Of Advil.” The song shows Wolf’s ability to pen cutting love songs while a gentle acoustic guitar accompanies her resonating voice.

Sam Feldt, Rita Ora — “Follow Me”

Rita Ora and Dutch producer Sam Feldt teamed up for the radio-ready track “Follow Me.” The pumped-up song not only features a dance-y beat, but it also carries an important message about loyalty. “This song serves as a reminder for us to surround ourselves with people who build us up and stay by our side, especially in times when we feel things are falling apart,” Ora said about the track.

Marc E. Bassy — “Crash For A Couple”

It’s been a few months since Marc E. Bassy dropped his anticipated album Little Men, and he’s already sharing even more music. He added a few new songs to the release this week, including the vibe-heavy number “Crash For A Couple.” The sizzling song features a slow-burning beat that offers the perfect atmospheric landscape for Bassy’s soulful vocals to melt over.

Galantis — “Alien” Feat. Lucas & Steve, Ilira

Swedish EDM producers Galantis teamed up with some of their fellow electronic musicians for the energetic single “Alien” this week, a song that’s sure to get everyone up and moving. Dutch powerhouse duo Lucas & Steve and Swiss singer/songwriter Ilira join Galantis for the thumping track, offering fans the perfect way to dance into the new year.

Drake’s Music Is Apparently The Worst To Run To If You Plan On Setting Any Speed Records

Ever since it became possible to listen to music on portable players, people have worked out while listening to music. But what kind of music is the most effective to work out to? I suppose that depends on what you define as “effective,” but according to a new study, if that means “running faster,” we now know exactly what you shouldn’t run to: Drake’s music.

Analyzing a group of joggers, sportswear retailer Pour Moi produced the study as part of a promotional campaign to see which music made people run the fastest over the course of 60 completed three-mile runs. Unfortunately, it turned out that those who bump Drake actually ran the slowest, with a six percent increase in run-time — almost 15 minutes on average.

Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj also added time with Doja adding 25 seconds and Nicki Minaj adding up to a minute and 24 seconds to the average run time. However, the most motivating musician might not come as much of a surprise; Beyonce‘s high-energy tunes like “Put A Ring On It” and “Run The World (Girls)”averaged a reduction in two minutes and 45 seconds.

While the study itself doesn’t sound incredibly scientific, it is kind of fun to look at the data and learn that listening to more pop-centric artists like Harry Styles, Olivia Rodrigo, and Britney Spears produces lower run times. Oddly enough, though, the incredibly upbeat BTS also caused runners to drag. Maybe an expanded, more airtight version of this study could be done in the future to determine just why that is.

You can read the full article on Pour Moi’s website.

Jack Harlow Pairs With A Fitting Fast Food Chain To Offer Tornado Relief To His Devastated Hometown

Over the weekend, the central part of the US was hit with an absolutely massive storm. Devastating tornadoes hit the ground in parts of Illinois, Arkansas, and Kentucky, with the ladder state seeing some significant damage. Buildings were leveled and it’s been predicted that the storms left over 70 people dead in Kentucky alone. As someone who’s always showed love for his Kentucky homestate, Jack Harlow is rushing to the rescue to provide tornado relief by partnering with the most fitting fast food chain.

Harlow and KFC announced a new partnership this week which saw him smacking on huge buckets of fried chicken. But on a more serious note, the rapper wants to give back to those affected by the storms this weekend. Together, Harlow and KFC will be donating a quarter of a million dollars to the Kentucky Red Cross.

Announcing the partnership, Harlow wrote:

“Growing up I always dreamed of being the biggest artist to come from Kentucky. Now I’m teaming up with @KFC, the biggest brand to come out of Kentucky. For the next year, we’re gonna do some big things together.

It couldn’t come at a better time, as the state needs our help more than ever in the wake of this past weekend’s devastating tornadoes. Together we will be donating $250k to the @americanredcross in support of relief efforts. I ask that you donate whatever you can to help those affected by this tragedy.”

‘SNL’ Cast Member Chloe Fineman Trolled ‘Actual Clown’ Lauren Boebert After Her Triggered Response To That Parody Gun Sketch

Rifle Republican Lauren Boebert wasn’t pleased after SNL did the obligatory thing in response to her gun-filled family Christmas photo (and the existence of Marjorie Taylor Greene at her defense). The sketch show parodied the hell out of her with Chloe Fineman doing the rootin’ tootin’ honors, and in response, Boebert (pun fully intended) seemed triggered and fired a shot (can’t stop the puns here) at Alec Baldwin in the process.

“Just saw the poorly-acted SNL skit from last night,” Boebert disapprovingly wrote. “Seeing the poor trigger discipline from the no-name actress who played me makes me think Alec Baldwin did the gun safety training over there. BTW, when are they moving SNL over to CNN to die out of irrelevance?”

In the aftermath of this grump-fest, Jon Lovitz called out Boebert on Twitter (particularly regarding her horrible joke about the fatal Rust shooting), and he was joined by many others. Over on Instagram, Chloe Fineman reacted. While referring to Boebert as an “actual clown,” she posted the SNL sketch for posterity and added, “p.s. loved clinkin our fake ass guns.”

Via The Independent, Fineman also called out Boebert via Instagram stories, where she pasted the far-right congresswoman’s tweeted and added, “Lmaoooooooo.”

There’s been no further response from Boebert as of yet, but it’s probably coming. For the record, she also previously tweeted, “The right doesn’t need an SNL. We could just turn on CNN and MSNBC which are parodies of themselves at this point.” Fightin’ words!

Indie music has grown to include so much. It’s not just music that is released on independent labels, but speaks to an aesthetic that deviates from the norm and follows its own weirdo heart. Every week, Uproxx is rounding up the best new indie music from the past seven days. This week we got a new track from Tame Impala, another preview of the forthcoming Mitski album, and another four-track sampling of Beach House’s first album in four years. Aeon Station – Observatory

We’ve been waiting almost two decades to hear new music from The Wrens, but Kevin Whelan, Greg Whelan and Jason MacDonald (3 of the band’s 4 members) have returned as Aeon Station to give us a taste of what we’ve been missing for 18 years. Observatory is an album comprised of songs that were penned over the last many years, managing to find a unique balance between nostalgia and a glimpse at the future.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse – Barn

More than fifty years into his career, Neil Young is still as prolific as ever, with new music — whether genuinely new or previously unheard — seemingly dropping every few months. On Barn, Young teamed up with his trusty backing band Crazy Horse to settle into a converted barn studio to jam and build upon Young’s legend as a master of vibe. Filled with harmonica, sludgy guitar solos, and Young’s never-changing vocals, Barn might just be “the best Neil Young album in more than a decade,” writes Steven Hyden for Uproxx.

Beach House – Once Twice Melody Chapter 2

With their first album in four years, Once Twice Melody, coming in early 2022, Beach House have been rolling out new songs in batches over the last several weeks. The latest four tracks to hit streaming show the full dimension of what can be expected from the band’s eighth album, chock full of affecting ambience and emotional resonance.

Ryan Pollie – Stars

Ryan Pollie has been an unstoppable force over the last several years, releasing music both under his own name and under the moniker Total Revenge. His new solo album Stars feels like a culminating moment of all of his recent work, a beautiful collection of songs that illustrate Pollie’s unique songwriting abilities across multiple different sonic elements.

Tame Impala – “No Choice”

It might be almost two years since Tame Impala released The Slow Rush, but it’s never too late for a deluxe edition. An expanded of the version is set to drop soon, featuring a collaboration with Lil Yachty and the new track “No Choice.” It’s a song that Carolyn Droke says “definitely calls back to the Tame Impala’s Lonerism days. A swirling electric guitar bends and melts over intricate percussion as Kevin Parker’s drowned-out vocals ask big questions about choice, freedom, and purpose.”

Mitski – “Heat Lightning”

Mitski’s Laurel Hell is one of the most anticipated albums of 2022, and each new single continues to build upon that anticipation. “Heat Lightning,” the third preview of the forthcoming LP, “starts intimately before blossoming into its first hook and then locking into a rhythmic groove for the rest of the song,” writes Derrick Rossignol for Uproxx.

Bon Iver – “Second Nature”

Adam McKay’s new film Don’t Look Up is about the harsh realities of climate change — and a condemnation of the people in power who refuse to acknowledge or do anything about it. McKay and composer Nicholas Britell enlisted Bon Iver to write a new song for the film’s closing credits, and the resulting “Second Nature” is what Derrick Rossignol calls for Uproxx “an evocative and cinematic tune.”

Khruangbin + Leon Bridges – “B Side”

After teaming up on the four-track Texas Sun EP last year, Khruangbin and Leon Bridges are back with even more collaborative music. The exceptionally groovy “B Side” is the first preview of the Texas collective’s new project, fittingly titled Texas Moon, and will surely have you bobbing your head at the very least.

Girlpool – “Faultline”

Girlpool has been laying low for a while now, and we haven’t really heard a peep from the band since they dropped “Like I’m Winning It,” a standalone single, in March of 2020. Produced by Overcoats and Yves Tumor producer Yves Rothman, the new track “Faultline” serves as an introduction to a new sound and feel for Girlpool, wherein “the gentle harmony and the song’s melody soars,” writes Adrian Spinelli for Uproxx.

Squirrel Flower – “Unravel” (Björk cover)

Squirrel Flower is currently prepping her third release in two years with the Planet EP, which is comprised of self-recorded demos of songs from the Planet (i) sessions that didn’t make the final cut. One of the offerings from the EP is a gorgeous cover of Björk’s “Unravel,” which has Ella Williams harmonizing with herself through the haze of reverb, all laid over lightly strummed, distorted acoustic guitars.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

The Best New Hip-Hop This Week

The best new hip-hop this week includes albums, videos, and songs from Juice WRLD, Rick Ross, Russ, and more.

Friday saw the releases of Earl Sweatshirt (“Tabula Rasa“), 2 Chainz (“Mortage Free“), RZA & Flatbush Zombies (“Plug Addicts“), and Kyle (“Perfect“), along with the releases listed below.

Here is the best of hip-hop this week ending December 10, 2021.

Albums/EPs/Mixtapes

2KBaby — First Quarter

2kbaby first quarter
2KBaby

2KBaby is a rapper who is slowly rising in estimation alongside fellow Louisville products like Jack Harlow and EST Gee. The Midwestern city is having something of a breakout this year and First Quarter solidifies the youngster as someone to keep an eye on going into 2022.

Big Boi & Sleepy Brown — Big Sleepover

big boy & sleepy brown big sleepover
Big Boy & Sleepy Brown

After a few delays, the long-awaited collab album between the two Atlanta compatriots has finally arrived, bringing with it all the Funkadelic-influenced Southern hop you could possibly want. Their chemistry has been evident since their earliest offerings, and here, there’s little left to prove. An easy listen.

Juice WRLD — Fighting Demons

juice wrld fighting demons
Juice WRLD

Although posthumous collaborations are often, well… questionable, there’s something so deliciously absurd about pairing the eternally tormented Juice WRLD with the brightly polished BTS member Suga. Meanwhile, plugging in verbal interludes from Juice and his “Godzilla” collaborator Eminem at least offer some insights into the late rapper’s talents and thoughts.

Rick Ross — Richer Than I Ever Been

rick ross richer than i ever been
Rick Ross

Ross’ latest is an astonishingly stripped-down affair, scaling back the anthemic cuts that have come to define about half his mainstream output to focus on the other half of it: soulful, almost throwback-seeming beats that allow the full force of his penmanship to shine through. His guests put up some impressive numbers too. This is just straight-up hip-hop, no chaser, and it’s one of his classiest, most cohesive projects yet.

Russ — Chomp 2

russ chomp 2
Russ

Building on the concept of the first Chomp EP, which was all about Russ showing off his lyrical prowess alongside some of the best in the business, the sequel expands the tracklist and the guestlist alike, to impressive results. The abrasive Atlantan may rub folks the wrong way with his interviews, but his pen game is undeniable.

Wiz Khalifa, Cardo & Sledrgen — Wiz Got Wings

wiz khalifa wiz got wings cover
Wiz Khalifa

Listen, if there is one way to get this rap writer to tune all the way into a new Wiz Khalifa release, it’s by telling him that the project is entirely produced by the Pittsburgh native’s most prolific and natural collaborators, the eternally smooth sounding Cardo and Sledgren. The laid-back production not only perfectly complements Wiz’s relaxed delivery, but it’s hard to imagine one without the other.

Singles/Videos

Cousin Stizz — “Blessings”

The rollout to Stizz’s return project continues, this time with a soulful street anthem that puts his slick wordplay at the forefront.

Lil Keke — “We From Texas” Feat. Sauce Walka, Slim Thug & Z-Ro

Whew. An all-star lineup of some of Houston’s finest makes for a hypnotic, trunk-knocking good time.

MadeinTYO & UnoTheActivist — “Love Myself”

Dropping from the duo’s Yokohama joint project also out now, “Love Myself” features a throwback, arcade-sounding beat — insomuch as the height of the SoundCloud era could be called “throwback” now.

Preme — “Hopscotch” Feat. Swae Lee

Preme’s campaign to cross the northern border of the US has been going pretty well so far, and adding Swae Lee to the forward offensive results in a critical win.

Rubi Rose — “Loyal Dick”

Rubi’s voice remains the highlight of her music. It’s smoky and crisp at the same time, allowing her diamond-edged flows to cut across even the most thunderous production. This single is a step in the right direction, proving she’s just one hit away.

TM88 x Pi’erre Bourne — “Pop Out”

When producers decide to switch up and start rapping themselves, the results can be hit or miss. Fortunately, Pi’erre’s previous collaborators have already set the tone and he more or less nails it on his and TM88’s collaborative tape, Yo-88.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

People Won’t Leave Avril Lavigne Alone About ‘Sk8er Boi,’ So She’s Turning It Into A Film

Early aughts nostalgia has been at an all-time high lately. Y2K stars like Britney Spears are all over the news and Gen Z musicians like Blackstarkids and Willow are bringing ’00s pop-punk back into the mainstream. Avril Lavigne, who collaborated with Willow on a recent track, is also benefiting form the resurgence of early-’00s culture.

The 20th anniversary of Lavigne’s breakout track “Sk8er Boi” is coming next year and she’s got some big plans to celebrate. Lavigne wants to revisit the song in a big way — by making “Sk8er Boi” into a film. Lavigne discussed her lofty plans in a conversation on the iHeartRadio podcast She Is The Voice over the weekend. The singer said people always bring up the song to her and it’s her favorite to play live, so she wants to “take it to the next level” with a film:

“Recently with it being almost the 20th anniversary, a lot of people have been asking me to play [‘Sk8er Boi’] on some TV shows, so it keeps getting brought back up and people will always reference it to me. And so, I’m actually going to turn this song into a film… and take it to the next level.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Lavigne said the song is really about a “missed opportunity at love.”

“You know what it was like in high school, you have all the different groups and cliques, and there’s like skaters, preps, jocks. It’s kind of like a missed opportunity at love,” she said. “The skater boy is in love with the preppy girl but like she’s too cool for him but then five years from now she’s feeding the baby and she’s all alone and she wishes she would have followed her heart and not tried to live up to society’s expectations.”

The singer hasn’t shared many details about her film adaptation plans thus far, including a cast or a story line. But based on the song’s subject matter, the film would likely be a high school teen dramedy, which is a film genre that was also very popular in the early ’00s.
