What’s On Tonight: ‘The Last O.G.’ Returns With A Double Dose, And ‘Stargirl’ Finds an Unlikely Ally

The Last O.G. (TBS, 10:00 & 10:30pm) — Season 4 has arrived with two episodes that follow up on Tracy Morgan’s Tray as he continues to pick up the pieces, which means finding a place of his own. Of course, he’s gotta deal with new neighbors and also battle past demons, all with the show’s special blend of humor.

Stargirl (CW, 8:00pm) — Wellllll, Joel McHale will return to this series as a regular (after Starman’s very apparent death in the pilot episode) in Season 3, but before that happens, the show’s teasing how Courtney will find an unlikely source of help. Could it be… Starman? Also, Thunderbolt’s still being a pain in the butt for Mike.

Supergirl (CW, 9:00pm) — Supergirl’s team is still dealing with Lex Luthor’s shenanigans, and he’s backing up Nyxly, all while emotional fallout abounds for the team. It’s the show’s final hurrah, so hopefully, these foes can be vanquished.

La Brea (NBC, 9:00pm) — Natalie Zea is still stuck in a primeval hellhole, where pterodactyls and bad CGI reside. This week, Eve and Levi and a handful of others discover a mysterious fort, after a plane crash and that massive sinkhole, and man, this show is nuts.

Queens (ABC, 10:00pm) — Following Girls5Eva‘s success on Peacock, this similarly themed series follows a fractured girl group that was once part of a hip-hop dynasty. Now in their 40s, can these ladies recapture their former magic and swagger? This week, Brianna’s dealing with harsh relationship truths, and Jill’s coming to terms with her true identity.

Chucky (SYFY and USA, 10:00pm) — The O.G. homicidal doll is still at it, this time with original voice actor Brad Dourif in this sequel series. This week, the “World Series of Slaughte” continues after Chucky gets sentimental about his first kill while offering a choice for Jake.

Late Night With Seth Meyers — Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Ferguson, Caroline, Or Change, Atom Willard

In case you missed these streaming picks from last Tuesday:

Theo Von: Regular People (Netflix stand-up comedy special) — Podcasting funny guy Theo Von is actually not a regular dude, as you’ll find out from this set of stories about his childhood and how, as an adult, he does his best to avoid work. Also, get ready for some matchmaking shenanigans, as related from Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Bright: Samurai Soul (Netflix film) — This anime movie takes place in between the Shogunate’s fall and the Meiji era’s rise, all while a wandering ronin and an orc (who’s working toward redemption) meet up with a young elf girl, and they all take a journey toward the land of the elves. In the process, they must evade a shady organization who aims to take the elf’s wand and use it to resurrect the Dark Lord’s power.

‘The View’s Joy Behar Comes For ‘Little Nerd’ Mark Zuckerberg And Calls Him The ‘Most Evil Person On The Planet’

Following the latest round of leaks about Facebook, the ladies of The View didn’t hold back their thoughts on Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who Joy Behar immediately described as a “little nerd.”

After Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the people and showed highlights from whistleblower Frances Haugen‘s testimony that the social media network is both ill-equipped and unmotivated to address the vast amount of control it has over billions of people, Behar let her thoughts fly in the opening moments of the segment.

While describing that almost everything said on The View has to go through the FCC and ABC’s legal department, Behar voiced her exasperation that virtually none of that is happening at Facebook, which has proven particularly dangerous with vaccine misinformation. Via The Wrap:

“This little nerd is causing — he’s like one of the more evil people, Trump must be so jealous,” Behar said after watching the clip. “I mean, he’s becoming like the most evil person on the planet, this guy. And something has to be done. And I don’t understand why it hasn’t, isn’t just like that (snaps fingers), done like that.”

Goldberg also chimed in with her concerns that Zuckerberg seems to wield an inordinate amount of power that’s not being checked, and Behar again pointed back to COVID. “We’re talking about death and dying,” she said. “People are dying. And they just keep spewing out these lies all over the place.”

Travis Scott Unveils His 2021 Astroworld Festival Lineup, Featuring Tame Impala, Young Thug, And More

Travis Scott has done really well his with Astroworld Festival over the past few years, as it routinely has some of the most appealing lineups on the fest circuit. Fans have come to expect that, so much so that the event sold out in May, well before the lineup was even announced. Speaking of that, Scott shared the lineup for the 2021 event today, which is returning on November 5 and 6 at Houston’s NRG Park.

The full lineup, in alphabetical order, consists of 21 Savage; Baby Keem; Bad Bunny; BIA; Chief Keef; Don Toliver; Earth, Wind & Fire; Houston All-Stars; Lil Baby; Master P; Roddy Ricch; Sheck Wes; Sofaygo; SZA; Teezo Touchdown; Toro Y Moi; Travis Scott; Tame Impala; Young Thug; and Yves Tumor.

Furthermore, a limited number of additional tickets went on sale today, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they were sold out by the time you read this.

This fest seems like a prime opportunity for Scott and Tame Impala to perform their Astroworld collaboration “Skeletons” together; Tame Impala recently performed it without Scott last month. Scott has certainly been in a collaborative mood as of late: He recently appeared on the new Young Thug album Punk and linked up with Don Toliver for a “Flocky Flocky” video.

The ‘Squid Game’ Creator Brought Up ‘Space Jam 2’ When Asked About LeBron James Not Liking His Show’s Ending

Seemingly everyone in the world has watched Squid Game, even busy athletes like LeBron James.

The four-time NBA MVP enjoyed the Netflix series overall, but he’s not a fan of the ending. “Yeah, I did finish it,” James told teammate Anthony Davis during a press conference. “You finish it? You watched it? You done? Yeah, I didn’t like the ending though. I know they start it off with a season two, but [REDACTED SPOILER ALERT BECAUSE I DON’T WANT TO GET YELLED AT], bro. Like, what are you doing?”

LeBron’s mixed review was brought up during an interview with Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk for the Guardian. “Have you seen Space Jam 2?” he asked the reporter, Stuart Jeffries, speaking to him. Not all of it. “LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I’m very thankful he watched the whole series,” Dong-hyuk said. “But I wouldn’t change my ending. That’s my ending. If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel. I’ll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, ‘I liked your whole show, except the ending.’”

That’s a solid burn, but “have you seen Space Jam 2?” is even better. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all, especially if you’re literally the star of Space Jam: A New Legacy.

BlizzCon Is Postponed Amidst Activision Blizzard Workplace Allegations And Lawsuits

Activision Blizzard is currently facing multiple lawsuits and allegations ranging from unfair labor practices to ignoring reports of sexual misconduct. The fallout of these allegations has resulted in the departure of employees, the name change of an Overwatch character, and an employee walkout.

It appears that BlizzCon, already postponed to 2022 and moved to an online format because of COVID, will also be cancelled. While the announcement of BlizzCon’s cancellation didn’t specifically mention this, it did mention the desire to create an event that was safe, welcoming, and as inclusive as possible.

Additionally, we would also like to take the time to reimagine what a BlizzCon event of the future could look like. The first BlizzCon was held 16 years ago, and so much has changed in the time since—most notably, the multiple ways in which players and communities can come together and feel like they are a part of something bigger. Whatever the event looks like in the future, we also need to ensure that it feels as safe, welcoming, and inclusive as possible. We’re committed to continual communication with our players, and we see BlizzCon playing a big role in that going forward. We’re excited about what we’ll do with the event when we revisit it in the future.

The plan right now is to “reimagine” what BlizzCon will look like in the future. For years it has been a staple of the Blizzard branch of Activision Blizzard’s calendar. It was there the company would make its biggest announcements for games, show new trailers, and show what they were working on. We also now know that it was the location of the infamous “Cosby Suite” that is at the center of many of these allegations.

Recently, Activision Blizzard attempted to pause the lawsuit. A judge denied the request on Monday.

One Of Mac Miller’s Dealers Has Pled Guilty To Distribution Of Fentanyl

Stephen Walter, the man who supplied the drugs that caused Mac Miller’s 2018 overdose has pled guilty to a charge of distribution of fentanyl, according to TMZ. Walter accepted a plea deal allowing him to avoid a charge of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, which would have added to the penalty. Walter was accused of giving Percocet pills cut with fentanyl to Mac’s alleged dealer, Cameron James Pettit, which Pettit then gave to Mac, causing him to overdose (fentanyl is several times more potent than oxycodone, making it easier to overdose from a much smaller amount).

The maximum penalty for illegal distribution of fentanyl is more than 20 years in prison, although TMZ notes that prosecutors have only recommended 17 years with five years of supervised release. Walter was fully aware that the pills he sold Pettit were counterfeit and contained fentanyl, according to prosecutors, which explains the recommendation, and he was already on supervised release from a prior conviction. Pettit, Walter, and a third man, Ryan Reavis (who acted as a go-between for the other two), were all scheduled for a hearing on November 16 to face conspiracy charges; by pleading out, Walter avoids the conspiracy charges the other two will be tried on.

Adele Announced Her First Show In Five Years And Fans Were So Excited That Her Website Reportedly Crashed

The last time Adele took the stage to perform a live concert, it was 2017. But now with a new album in the works, the singer has announced she plans to return to the stage once again in 2022, marking her first confirmed live show in five years.

The back-to-back concerts are slated to take place on July 1 and July 2 at London’s Hyde Park venue, which has an impressive capacity of 65,000. She made the exciting announcement in a very Adele way, simply writing “Oiii Oiiiiiiiiiiiii” with a heart emoji on Twitter.

Shortly after Adele’s announcement, fans flooded to her website to attempt to simply sign up for the chance to scoop up a coveted presale ticket. But because so many user flocked to her website at once, many fans took to Twitter to report that it had crashed. Thankfully, it didn’t take long for Adele’s team to get the website up and running to allow her fans to once again sign up for her presale.

This is far from the first time Adele’s fans have recently shown the singer some love. Just yesterday, Billboard shared their weekly Hot 100 chart for the week dated October 30, showing that Adele’s comeback single “Easy On Me” debuted at No. 1. In fact, “Easy On Me” saw so many streams that the single had almost double the amount of chart points as the song at No. 2, The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s track “Stay.”

30 is out 11/19 via Columbia. Pre-order it here.

The ‘Dune 2’ Jokes Are Flowing (With Added Spice) Now That A Sequel Has Been Greenlit

Now that Dune: Part Two has been officially greenlit, fans of director Denis Villeneuve‘s take on the classic sci-fi novel have already started to relax with the fear of Warner Bros. passing on a sequel no longer hanging in the air. In fact, Dune fans are downright jubilant as their excitement quickly morphed into making 800 jokes about the title.

Below you’ll find a wide assortment of potential Dune 2 titles that are almost as wild as the Duncan Idaho jokes that filled up social media following the first film’s release. People really couldn’t believe that was the name of Jason Momoa’s character.

Anyway, Dune 2: Secret of the Dune Ooze jokes ahoy!

Exquisite poop jokes aside, it appears the title of the sequel will be the considerably un-puntastic, Dune: Part Two. However, on the bright side, Villeneuve and the cast are officially confirmed to return, according to The Hollywood Reporter:

“I just received news from Legendary that we are officially moving forward with Dune: Part Two,” Villeneuve said in a statement. “It was a dream of mine to adapt Frank Herbert’s Dune and I have the fans, the cast, and crew, Legendary and Warner Bros. to thank for supporting this dream. This is only the beginning.”

Dune: Part Two is currently scheduled to hit theaters in October 2023.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Thinks The Declaration Of Independence Gave MAGA Insurrectionists Permission To Try To ‘Overthrow Tyrants’ On Jan. 6th

In a truly stunning, very public display of self-incrimination, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who’s currently under suspicion for aiding the organizers of the Jan. 6th insurrection, gave an on-air interview defending the Captiol Hill attacks and invoking the Declaration of Independence as a possible defense.

Currently, two of the organizers of the MAGA mob that attacked the Congressional building, hoping to thwart the Democratic process of certifying Joe Biden as the next president, are cooperating with the investigation into the violent uprising. According to a Rolling Stone report, the planners of the insurrection recently revealed that multiple GOP members of Congress including Paul Gosar, Lauren Boebert, and yes, Marjorie Taylor Greene, had helped them orchestrate the attack by meeting with them before the rally and leaking sensitive information.

While the others deny any involvement, Greene is taking a different approach to defending herself in the court of public opinion. She gave an interview in which she described the insurrection as “just a riot” before referencing the Declaration of Independence, claiming the founding document justifies “overthrowing tyrants.”

Now, the backflips involved in equating a coordinated attack on a federal building aimed at disrupting a sacred democratic process with any other kind of riot while also describing Black Lives Matter protests as “the strongest terrorist threat” in our country would make even Simone Biles dizzy. But it’s the “overthrowing tyrants” bit that feels especially bizarre considering Donald Trump was technically still president at the time of the insurrection as Joe Biden had yet to be inaugurated.

Maybe she can work that bit of mental gymnastics out for us behind bars.
