Lady Gaga Got An Adorable (And Pretty Savage) Letter From A 6-Year-Old: ‘I Like You, But You’re Not The Best’

There’s a new Lady Gaga profile from Elle that was released today (January 28), and the piece was written by journalist Lotte Jeffs. Jeffs took to their Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes photos from the interview, including a terrific note their 6-year-old daughter wrote for Gaga.

The photo is of Gaga smiling as she holds up the handwritten letter, which has some brutal honestly that clearly amused the pop star. The message (left unedited) reads, “lady gaga say I like you but your not the besst and by the waye can I hare that song of yours sounds like your desperate to,” and then the rest of the letter is cut off in the photo.

Jeffs also addressed the note in the Elle feature, explaining:

“As a parent to a 6-year-old myself, I warn Gaga that kids will bring you down to earth with a thud. In fact, I go as far as to show her a note my daughter has written to the pop star on hearing that I will be interviewing her on Saturday afternoon, and not taking her to the toy shop as planned. ‘Lady Gaga,’ it reads in pink pen. ‘I like you, but your [sic] not the best.’

Yep, I say, kids are endlessly humbling. Gaga thinks the note is hilarious. ‘Oh, I’m ready,’ she says, folding the scrap of paper and putting it in her jacket pocket for those moments, we laugh, when she’s getting too big for her boots.

I’m so pleased Gaga has a great sense of humor — not least because that note could have really backfired otherwise.”

The Jonas Brothers Parody ‘Love Actually’ In A Promo For Their Disney+ Christmas Special

The Jonas Brothers are returning to Disney. Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas, who got their start on the Disney-owned label Hollywood Records and starred in DCOM classic Camp Rock, will star in Jonas Brothers Christmas Movie (working title), a holiday comedy that will premiere on Disney+ later this year.

Here’s the brief synopsis: “In the movie, Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas face a series of escalating obstacles as they struggle to make it from London to New York in time to spend Christmas with their families.”

You can watch a Love Actually-themed teaser for the special above.

After taking a long break to focus on their solo careers and personal lives, Jonas Brothers reunited in 2019. “Deciding to do this again as a band, it was on our terms,” Joe told Uproxx in a 2023 cover story. “The idea that we could step back up to the plate and say, Alright, this is what we want to do, and we’re ready for this, we’re so thrilled with how our fans opened their arms back up to us. Off to the races.” Nick added, “I mean, the early days of our career — moments like an album release week — came with a lot of firsts, a lot of anxiety, and a lot of incredible moments. But now, we are more comfortable in our own skin. It’s a unique spot to be in.”

Lady Gaga Has Heard The ‘Joker: Folie À Deux’ Criticism And She Has A Levelheaded Response

Joker: Folie À Deux was one of 2024’s most notable movies, but not for good reasons. The Joaquin Phoenix- and Lady Gaga-starring movie wasn’t received well commercially or critically, but Gaga doesn’t seem to be letting it bother her too much.

Gaga is the subject of a new Elle cover story that went live today (January 28), and in it, she was asked about the mixed reviews the movie has received. She responded:

“People just sometimes don’t like some things. It’s that simple. And I think to be an artist, you have to be willing for people to sometimes not like it. And you keep going even if something didn’t connect in the way that you intended.”

Speaking more generally about the fear of failure, she added, “When that makes its way into your life, that can be hard to get control of. It’s part of the mayhem.”

Elsewhere in the interview, she spoke about her upcoming album, Mayhem. As for how it sounds, she described it has having influences that include “’90s alternative, electro-grunge, Prince and Bowie melodies, guitar and attitude, funky bass lines, French electronic dance, and analog synths,” adding, “Mayhem is utter chaos! […] It breaks a lot of rules and has a lot of fun.”

Describing it in different terms, she also said, “As I’m writing, it assembles in my brain, then through the recording it becomes a full piece of color. Every song is a different shade. A lot of the songs on this album have a maroon, brown color to them. ‘Bad Romance’ was like that — it was reddish.”

Selena Gomez Hits Back At A Politician’s ‘Threat’ To Deport Her From The Country

Selena Gomez shared an emotional message on Instagram this week in response to the President Trump-approved Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids happening across the country. “All my people are getting attacked. The children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry,” the Emilia Pérez star, who is Mexican-American, said through tears. “I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”

According to The Daily Beast, Gomez also “included the text ‘I’m sorry’ with a Mexican flag on her Story, which she later took down. The clip was screen-recorded and went viral on Monday morning, however, sparking mass outrage in conservative circles.” One such conservative is Sam Parker, a Republican from Utah who sought (and failed to win) election to the US Senate in 2018. “Maybe Selena should be deported, too?” he wrote on X.

Gomez replied to Parker’s threat in an Instagram Story, writing, “Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat.”

In 2019, Gomez wrote an essay for Time about America’s immigration policies. “Undocumented immigration is an issue I think about every day, and I never forget how blessed I am to have been born in this country thanks to my family and the grace of circumstance,” it reads. “But when I read the news headlines or see debates about immigration rage on social media, I feel afraid for those in similar situations. I feel afraid for my country.”

An Alabama Shakes Reunion Is On The Way, Nearly A Decade After Their Last Album

Alabama Shakes were a dominating force in the 2010s with their two albums, 2012’s Boys & Girls and 2015’s Sound & Color. The latter was a No. 1 hit, but still, the band hasn’t released a new album still then. It hasn’t been all bad: Group leader Brittany Howard has thrived as a solo artist (her most recent album, What Now, landed just outside the top 50 in the newly released 2024 Uproxx Music Critics Poll).

Still, folks have been wanting new Alabama Shakes, and now, it looks like they’re finally going to get it.

Last month, the band played a surprise reunion show, their first performance together since 2017. Now, they have some new music in progress: Sharing a gallery of studio photos on Instagram yesterday (January 27), the band wrote, “Working on some exciting stuff!”

This comes after a 2024 interview in which Howard said of the band, “It is a beautiful part of my history as a musician [and] changed my life. I love the music we made together. I was just listening to ‘Always Alright’; I haven’t heard it in 10 years. As far as what happens in the future, I just follow the curiosity. I feel like if there’s a beat there and the creativity’s calling me there, then that’s something that we’ll have a conversation about, me and the guys. I wouldn’t say the door’s completely closed.”

WWE Monday Night Raw’s Atlanta Stop Featured Ringside Cameos From Lil Yachty, Quavo, 2 Chainz, And More

Nowadays, musicians and wrestling go hand in hand–at least over in WWE’s realm. Yesterday (January 27), that entertainment bridge continued during Monday Night Raw. When the beloved late night program made a stop at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, the city’s most popular rapper were sure to snag a ringside seat.

As the camera’s panned the audience, it quickly caught glimpses of hometown heroes Lil Baby, 2 Chainz, Quavo, Killer Mike, and Lil Yachty.

Throughout the night, many of the recording artists were incorporated into the show. For example, Lil Yachty found himself in a tense exchange with The New Day’s Xavier Woods after he was called out for trolling him wearing a “The New Day sucks” t-shirt. However, following the group’s not-so-nice remarks about fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, viewers consider it necessary retribution. For the most part, the taping kept thing family friendly.

However, the same could not be said of WW Monday Night Raw’s Netflix debut. The special guest for the evening was Travis Scott. Instead of hitting the ring himself, he decided to serve as Jey Uso’s match escort. Scott left some viewers at home hot and bothered when he decided to enjoy a few pulls from a blunt. But Triple H just laughed it off.

Pharrell’s Something In The Water Festival’s Hosting Agreement With Virginia Beach Has Reportedly Been Terminated

Last year, Pharrell Williams’ music festival Something In The Water faced several hurdles. After being forced to cancel the 2024 installment due to weather conditions, the team weren’t able to lock in a new date. Ultimately, Something In The Water 2024 was canceled but promised to return in 2025.

Today (January 27), based on a recent report Something In The Water 2025 is already on rocky grounds. On X (formerly Twitter), Brett Hall, a WAVY TV 10 reporter, claimed that the festival’s hosting agreement with the city of Virginia Beach was officially terminated.

“The City of Virginia Beach will be terminating the Something In The Water agreement,” he wrote. “Festival will not happen in Virginia Beach this year.”

To support his claim, Hall shared a screenshot of what appears to be an internal announcement sent to local media. Read the statement below.

While the City values the positive impact and visibility the Something In The Water festival has had on Virginia Beach in years’ past, regretfully organizers did not meet the cure notice requirements. In terms of next steps, SITW team will receive an official termination notice from the City.

If true this would not be the first time Something In The Water was held outside of Pharrell’s hometown. Back in 2022, the event was held in Washington, DC, which Pharrell credited to the Virginia Beach mayor and other elected officials’ “toxic energy” after his cousin, Donovon Lynch, was fatally shot by local police.

At this time Pharrell has not yet addressed the viral report.

Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ Is Reportedly At The Center Of A Lawsuit Against A Detroit Car Dealership

It only takes one unauthorized shot to piss Eminem off–or at least part owners of his catalog. While the “Somebody Save Me” rapper often expresses his loves for Detroit, it appears one local business is misusing its hometown advantage.

According to TMZ, Eminem’s hit song “Lose Yourself” is at the helm of a copyright infringement lawsuit. The outlet reports that today (January 27) Eight Mile Style, a partial owner of Eminem’s catalog filed paperwork against a LaFontaine Ford St. Clair, Ford dealership, for unauthorized use of the track in its recent advertisement.

The dealer’s recent promotion of a limited edition Detroit Lions Ford F-150 pickup truck included both Eminem’s song and a lyrical reference in its caption: “You only get one shot to own a Special Edition Detroit Lions F-150.”

In the filing, Eight Mile Style slammed LaFontaine Ford St. Clair for circumventing the proper channels to license the track. Despite, Eminem’s longtime support of the Detroit Lions, Eight Mile Style is not willing to overlook the matter.

Within the document, Eight Mile Style made reference to a past Chrysler campaign in which the company did pay for usage of the track.

Eight Mile Style is seeking undisclosed monetary damages and have requested that the advertisement be taken down immediately.
