Arjan Bhullar Is Picking A Fight With The Best In Pro Wrestling And MMA

Coming off the longest layoff of his professional career as the world grappled with COVID-19, Arjan Bhullar was anxious to return to the cage for his showdown with Brandon Vera. When he left the UFC, turning down an offer with the promotion to sign with ONE Championship in 2019, he did so with an eye on making history as the first Indian-origin fighter to win a high-level MMA title.

“I went through a range of emotions (throughout the pandemic), but just wanting to compete, not taking anything for granted anymore,” Bhullar told Uproxx Sports. “Anytime, anything could happen and this could be over. So (the layoff) really rejuvenated me for this next stretch of competition.”

That focus and energy was on full display in mid-May, when Bhullar used just two rounds to knock out Vera and claim the heavyweight crown.

“I’m huge on legacy,” Bhullar said. “(Becoming the first Indian world champion) will remain forever and ever. It’s a lifetime of work. My family, myself, my coaches and teammates, all throughout the years, just a culmination of a great body of work.”

Bhullar admitted part of his decision to join ONE was the expectation that things could happen “quicker” with ONE than it might have with the UFC. The 35 year old needed only one fight — a 2019 decision victory over Mauro Cerilli — to earn his title shot. But now, with the title in tow, Bhullar is in the driver’s seat of his own legacy.

“The structure at ONE, they value their guys. They have a lot of the same Asian values I grew up with,” Bhullar said. “And I wanted to be able to create superheroes. I wanted to have my own brand, telling these values, what I’m about and all of those things. And I’ve done a lot with ONE over the last couple of years. I don’t have to be something I’m not. I don’t have to make up a gimmick or say things I wouldn’t otherwise say. I want to bring honor to my family and respect to my community. I carry a mace that represents my wrestling lineage. And I wear a turban and that represents my faith and culture.”

While Bhullar has yet to nail down his next opponent in ONE, he has large ambitions that range from winning a pro wrestling championship to fighting some of the all-time greats in MMA.

“I want to (be a professional wrestler and fight in MMA),” Bhullar said. “I have done some training with Jinder Mahal in the past. We had conversations (about pro wrestling) even before the Vera fight. We’re gonna get on the same page as far as how we move forward.”

Bhullar has a clause in his contract that gives him the opportunity to test his skills in the squared circle, with options between the likes of WWE and AEW.

“I never go where the money is, but I like to be shown respect and appreciation. It’s about relationships and what makes sense long-term,” Bhullar said. “But the perfect scenario for me is winning a pro wrestling title, where we have both industries by the throat.”

While ONE’s relationship with TNT could theoretically open doors to AEW with some crossover programming, Bhullar is open to either primetime promotion.

As far as opponents go, Bhullar wants a shot at Jake Haggar or Bobby Lashley, and it doesn’t matter whether that fight is inside the cage or squared circle. But if we’re talking about strictly inside the Octagon, Bhullar can envision a shot against Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones. That may be even more realistic of an option than even Bhullar thought months ago after ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong fueled the fire of a mega event featuring ONE and UFC fighters.

“I want to get Stipe,” Bhullar said. “There’s some history with my guy DC that I’d like to exact some revenge. He’s supposed to be the heavyweight GOAT, so I would love that. I was a part of every one of those camps with DC and I didn’t want to see him go out (with a loss).”

For Bhullar, whatever is future looks like, it’s all about creating a legacy he can be proud of.

“I’ve trained with the best all-time with Cain (Velasquez) and DC,” Bhullar said. “Legacy is huge for me, so when it’s all said and done, I just want to look back and have a smile on my face.”

The Linda Lindas Bring Their Viral Punk Hit ‘Racist Sexist Boy’ To ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

A few weeks ago, The Linda Lindas, a band of teen and pre-teen punk rockers, went viral with a performance of “Racist Sexist Boy.” It turns out that was more than just a big internet moment: Not long after it happened, the girls signed to Epitaph Records, and last night, they were on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. On the show, they turned in a raucous performance of their famous chat and also chatted with Kimmel.

Kimmel asked for the backstory behind the song and 10-year-old drummer and singer Mila said, “The backstory is that a boy from school told me that his dad told him to stay away from Chinese people, and I told him that I was Chinese and he backed away from me.” 13-year-old bassist and singer Eloise added, “There’s also a lot of sexism around boys our age. […] So we were really angry and we decided to write a song about it.”

When the band signed with Epitaph, they shared some other statements about the song and its impact. Eloise said, “We knew the song would get a good reaction, but we never imagined this. Even though we started the band for fun, now it feels we can actually make a difference with what we’re doing.” Lucia also noted, “People have reached out to us from all over the world — we get a lot of messages from little girls, but we also get messages from grandmothers. We always hope that the music we put out will inspire other young girls, but we also want it to make anyone feel like they can do anything, no matter what age they are.”

Weed Strains That Will Help Smash Your Stress And Anxiety

Stress and anxiety, we’ve all faced them — whether because of bills, new life changes, or the fact that the planet is getting warmer and we keep doing irreparable harm as if it doesn’t pose a direct threat to our very species. Not to mention that we’re transitioning from a year spent in isolation. It’s a lot to manage!

Meaning you’re going to need multiple methods of combating said stress. Exercise, adventure, sex (solo or with others), a good nap, or meditation — it’s all part of a (more) balanced, less stressful life. And if those don’t work, and you feel like you can imbibe responsibly, why not try packing a bowl of the green stuff?

It should be said that if you suffer from a serious stress and anxiety disorder, weed probably isn’t the answer for you. But if you feel like winding down at the end of a tough work week (or day) by ripping on a joint, you’d be hard-pressed to find an easier temporary escape. One recent study conducted at the Washington State University and published in the Journal of Affective Disorders found that inhaling cannabis can significantly reduce short-term levels of depression, anxiety, and stress, with women on average receiving a larger reduction than men. However, sustained marijuana use also posed the possibility of exacerbating depression over time.

So cannabis could possibly be your respite but if you’re hoping it might be a cure-all for your deep-rooted issues, it probably won’t be. Unless you’re suffering from legit PTSD. According to Forbes, another recent study funded by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and carried out by researchers from universities nationwide, including the University of California San Diego, the John Hopkins School of Medicine, and the University of Colorado, found that individuals suffering from PTSD who used cannabis saw a greater reduction of symptoms and were over two times more likely to recover from PTSD than those who weren’t using.

So where to start if you’re looking for a smoke to melt your stress away? As was the case with sleep and sex, if you’re looking to target feelings of anxiety and stress, it’s all in the terpenes — aromatic compounds that give weed its smell, taste, and govern its effects. To bash out those bad vibes, you’re going to want to find strains high in the anti-inflammatory terpene Caryophyllene, the sedative Myrcene, the euphoria-inducing Limonene, the herbal-tinged energizing Pinene, and the calming lavender-esque Linalool.

That’s all kinda annoying to remember — so don’t! We did it for you and broke down some of the best stress and anxiety-relieving strains below.

Granddaddy Purple

Strain: Indica

Dominant Terpenes: Myrcene, Pinene, beta-Caryophyllene

Average THC: 17%

Why It’s Good For Stress And Anxiety

Granddaddy Purple is such a versatile strain that it’s landed on our best strains for sex and best strains for sleep list. That’s primarily to do with the sedative effects of Myrcene and the stress, anxiety, and pain-busting effects of the terpenes pinene and beta-caryophyllene. Keep in mind that if you’re stressed or anxious but have a full day ahead of you, this strain is probably best avoided. It’s likely going to send you straight into couch-lock and the idea of getting things done will seem menacing.

The Bottom Line:

A great option for end-of-the-day stress relief, Granddaddy Purp will ease your body and mind and usher you to dreamland.

Hit up Weedmaps to find Granddaddy Purple at a dispensary near you.

Girl Scout Cookies (GSC)

Strain: Hybrid

Dominant Terpenes: Caryophyllene, Limonene, Linalool

Average THC: 19%

Why It’s Good For Stress And Anxiety

GSC has a lot going for it: a great flavor profile with floral notes and hints of citrus, beautiful buds of purple-tinged leaves with curly orange hairs with a mood-lifting high that attacks anxiety and depression. Caryophyllene, limonene, and linalool all have anti-anxiety properties, with the caryophyllene and limonene also introducing anti-depressant effects for a high that is soothing and slightly euphoric.

Smoking a quality cultivated GSC just feels good, whether you’re in a funk or not.

The Bottom Line:

A great-tasting strain with a calming herbal aroma that will lift your mood without weighing you down.

Hit up Weedmaps to find GSC at a dispensary near you.

Northern Lights

Strain: Indica

Dominant Terpenes: Myrcene, beta-Caryophyllene, Pinene

Average THC: 16%

Why It’s Good For Stress And Anxiety

In today’s weed landscape, good cannabis tends to push well past the 25% THC range, so if you’re looking at Northern Lights puny 16% and thinking this one isn’t for you, just chill for a second. When it comes to stress and anxiety, getting too high can make you worse off than you were before lighting up. It’s important to not overdo it because cannabis in high doses can cause anxiety for anyone!

Northern Lights makes it easy to find balance, especially if you want to experience a longer-lasting smoke session and take a few more hits. Featuring the sedative and relaxing properties of Mycene, and the anti-anxiety qualities of caryophyllene, Northern Lights is relaxing without being too heavy, like Granddaddy Purple. The terpene pinene helps to add a slight energy boost to the experience, and some nice woodsy and herbal flavoring to the smoke.

The Bottom Line:

Northern Lights is perfect for someone looking to enjoy a longer smoke session. It’s relaxing and sedating, but not so powerful that it’ll send you to bed.

Hit up Weedmaps to find Northern Lights at a dispensary near you.

Sour Diesel

Strain: Sativa

Dominant Terpenes: Myrcene, Limonene, beta-Caryophyllene

Average THC: 18%

CBD: 2%

Why It’s Good For Stress And Anxiety

If you judge this strain by name alone, it sounds awfully intense — but it’s not! Sour Diesel is a classic strain, with a fast-acting high that begins vibrating at your brow before melting through your entire body and making you feel good. This is our first sativa on the list, so it’s a great option for wake and baking and keeping the anxiety of a big day ahead of you at bay.

This strain’s high levels of myrcene chill you out and the limonene gives you a mood lift and a burst of energy that won’t weigh you down. This is a great strain for getting in focus but be warned. It’s named Sour Diesel for a reason, and this strain gives off a very pungent chemical-infused aroma that makes itself known.

The Bottom Line:

A feel-good strain ideal for wake and bakers or those with a busy day ahead of them.

Hit up Weedmaps to find Sour Diesel at a dispensary near you.

Critical Mass/CBD Critical Mass

Strain: Indica-dominant Hybrid

Dominant Terpenes: Myrcene, Caryophyllene, Limonene

Average THC: 17% (Critical Mass CBD has 6% THC / 9% CBD)

Why It’s Good For Stress And Anxiety

Critical Mass leans on the calming side, with a musky and spicy flavor that leads to a heavy fast-acting high that’ll leave you feeling relaxed and a bit euphoric. If you can find the rare CBD formulation of the strain you’ll find an even more effective anxiety-killer, as CBD also has a calming anti-anxiety effect and it won’t get you nearly as high due to the reduced THC content.

The Bottom Line:

If the thought of getting high alone causes anxiety, you might want to look into the CBD Critical Mass strain. If you want all the calming benefits and don’t mind getting high, OG Critical Mass is a solid option.

Hit up Weedmaps to find Critical Mass at a dispensary near you.

London Poundcake #75

Strain: Indica-dominant Hybrid

Dominant Terpenes: Limonene, Pinene

Average THC: 25%

CBD: <2%

Why It’s Good For Stress And Anxiety

A little more on the strong and heavy side, London Poundcake is a strain I’ve only been introduced to recently but I love its relaxing and euphoria-inducing effects. With a noticeable citrus and berry flavor, London Poundcake has notes of bright sweetness, with a nice herbal scent, deep green leaves, and wild wiry orange hairs.

It’s an ideal strain for relaxing, but that doesn’t mean it’ll send you to bed. Instead, smoke up (one or two hits should be enough to hit relaxation levels), put on your favorite comedy special, and laugh until it hurts.

The Bottom Line:

Great for chilling out and watching some movies or listening to your favorite music. A vacation for the mind.

Hit up Weedmaps to find London Poundcake at a dispensary near you.

AC/DC

Strain: Hybrid

Dominant Terpenes: Myrcene, Pinene

Average THC: 1%

CBD: 14%

Why It’s Good For Stress And Anxiety

AC/DC is the perfect choice if you’re looking to medicate with cannabis but aren’t looking to get high. At just 1% THC, AC/DC results in little more than slight lightheadedness, but its CBD forward properties will induce feelings of relaxation, and a general sense of well-being.

This strain is a favorite of the medical marijuana community.

The Bottom Line:

All the benefits without the high, AC/DC is the ideal choice for microdosers and people looking to medicate.

Hit up Weedmaps to find AC/DC at a dispensary near you.

Cereal Milk

Strain: Indica-dominant Hybrid

Dominant Terpenes: Myrcene, Pinene, Caryophyllene.

Average THC: 29%

CBD: .25%

Why It’s Good For Stress And Anxiety

Cereal Milk is no joke, at almost 30% THC it is in every way a modern weed strain. It has large crystal-crusted buds and packs a powerful punch strong enough to humble heavy daily users so if you’re not that experienced with smoking weed, maybe look elsewhere. As such it only takes about one hit to instantly start to feel joyous euphoria that relaxes both mind and body and settles you into a comfortable high that you can ride for a few hours.

Because it’s so powerful, if you only use it when you’re hit with new stress and anxiety, a single eighth will last you a good while.

The Bottom Line:

The best choice for heavy users and people looking for powerful effects. Simply one of the best weed strains you’ll ever smoke and one of the best highs you’ll ever experience.

Hit up Weedmaps to find Cereal Milk at a dispensary near you.

White Walker OG

Strain: Indica

Dominant Terpenes: Limonene, Caryophyllene, Myrcene

Average THC: 27%

CBD: .18%

Why It’s Good For Stress And Anxiety

White Walker, which I’m sure West Coast cannabis brand Cannabiotix regrets naming it given that final GOT season, is another ultra-powerful strain geared towards heavy users. This strain features a citrus-forward lemony punch with a spicy and woodsy musk that lingers on the palate. This is a nice one to smoke with a vaporizer, so you can really get the complex flavor profile. The high here is incredibly relaxing, making it a great choice for nighttime end of the day toking.

The Bottom Line:

Strong with a complex flavor profile perfect for a vaporizer. Smoking White Walker will bring feelings of calm tranquility, providing great relief to stress and anxiety.

Hit up Weedmaps to find White Walker OG at a dispensary near you.

Purple Urkle

Strain: Hybrid

Dominant Terpenes: Myrcene, Caryophyllene, Pinene

Average THC: 20%

Why It’s Good For Stress And Anxiety

The high from Purple Urkle hits you like a train, shuttling you straight into couch lock with a deeply relaxing and sedative high. With a terpene profile that is heavily myrcene dominant, Purple Urkle will numb any aches and pains you’re feeling while giving you a considerable mood lift and an enhanced focus that will quiet the mind.

The Bottom Line:

Powerfully sedative, Purple Urkle is a great choice for pain and stress relief, offering a relaxing and slightly euphoric high.

‘Watchmen’ Star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Will Team Up With The Rock (Kind Of) For An Austin-Based Music-Action Thriller

Another season of Watchmen on HBO may not be in the cards, but its star certainly has a lot more action on the horizon. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will reportedly team up with Dwayne “The Rock Johnson” for his next project, one that takes him to Texas for an action movie.

Deadline reported Friday that Johnson will produce a movie called Emergency Contact, which will be set in Austin in the music scene. Details are scarce, but Johnson’s Seven Bucks will produce the movie while Abdul-Mateen is set to star in what’s billed as an action movie with a bit of a twist.

As Deadline detailed, it’s the latest project for Abdul-Mateen, who has launched himself into the stratosphere after the Damon Lindelof’s comic reimagining earned him an Emmy.

For Abdul-Mateen, Emergency continues the actor’s Hollywood ascent. He has been on a hot streak since playing a key role in HBO’s acclaimed limited series, Watchmen, for which he won an Emmy. He also garnered acclaim and awards buzz for portraying activist Bobby Seale in Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7. He has high-profile movies The Matrix 4 and Candyman due out later this year and in 2021 will shoot George Miller’s latest Mad Max project, Furiosa. Abdul-Mateen has become a Warners favorite as not only Matrix and Furiosa are from the studio, but he also starred as the villain in the company’s Aquaman, a role he is reprising for Aquman 2.

That’s quite the collection of high-profile projects to Abdul-Mateen’s name, but you could argue that an indie music-based action film set in Austin may officially make Emergency Contact his most intriguing project on the docket.

Meghan McCain Accused Dr. Fauci Of Wanting To ‘Be A Kardashian’ Before Spreading COVID Conspiracy Theories

After an abnormally quiet week, Meghan McCain is getting back to her old self. During a panel discussion on Dr. Fauci’s emails, the conservative The View host resumed her criticisms of the disease specialist and took things to the next level by essentially accusing Fauci of wanting to be a celebrity. More specifically, McCain said that Fauci “clearly wanted to be a Kardashian” as she took issue with his magazine cover stories and being nominated for People’s “Sexiest Man Alive.”

You can see McCain’s rant kick in at the 4:44 mark below:

However, McCain’s rant took a dangerous turn when she began parroting conspiracy theories about COVID-19’s origin. While citing Fauci’s emails where he entertains the theory that the virus may have been an “accidental lab leak,” McCain started going to bat for Senator Tom Cotton and other Republicans who have floated theories that the virus was a bioweapon. While admitting that she’s not a scientist, McCain repeated right-wing talking points that “the Chinese government is testing viruses for other viruses which is something we don’t do in this country.” Via The Wrap:

“When this originally started people like Tom Cotten were writing op-eds and going on TV just raising questions and if you raise the question that, ‘hey, this might’ve come from the Chinese labs in Wuhan you were treated like you were Alex Jones with a tinfoil hat on your head and now you have Vanity Fair which is not a conservative publication by anybody’s definition writing huge profiles raising these questions and we have to understand where the virus originated from if we’re ever going to be able to god forbid face a threat like this going forward.”

McCain then demanded more transparency from Fauci to restore “the legitimacy of our institutions,” which is an interesting statement to make after spouting conspiracy theories that question that very legitimacy. To be clear, the government is investigating whether COVID-19 was a lab leak, which experts believe is a possibility, but not in the sense that Republicans have been portraying it. In short, there is very little evidence that COVID-19 is some sort of “bioweapon” that accidentally got out, or as the more dangerous theories suggest, was purposefully leaked.

Netflix’s ‘Master Of None’ Presents ‘Moments In Love,’ A Concert Inspired By The Series

Late last month, Netflix’s dramedy series Master Of None returned to the streaming service after a four-year hiatus with a renewed focus on Lena Waithe’s character Denise and her partner, Naomi Ackie’s Alicia. As the series now focuses on the ups and downs of a single relationship rather than Aziz Ansari’s character Dev’s quest romance, the third season bears the subtitle Moments In Love.

The subtitle also applies to a new “live music experience” released today to promote the show, which features up-and-coming Black and queer R&B artists telling their stories of love. Included in the performance are Asiahn, a Los Angeles singer-songwriter who has written for the likes of Dr. Dre and Drake, Avery Wilson, who gained notice as a contestant on The Voice, Durand Bernarr, who’s sung backing vocals for Erykah Badu and The Internet, and Tiffany Gouché, a longtime industry vet whose musical family includes D Smoke and SiR, her cousins.

“Moments In Love” also includes a conversation between Waithe and neo-soul pioneer Maxwell. Shot at Winston House, the performance highlights the same sort of complex, unconventional love depicted in the show, making it a perfect pairing — and a fitting introduction to some of the most unique and talented rising stars in music.

Watch “Moments In Love” in love above and catch season three Master Of None streaming now on Netflix.

LeBron James On His Offseason: ‘I Think I’m Gonna Play For The Tune Squad This Summer Instead Of The Olympics’

For the first time in his decorated career, LeBron James got bounced in the first round of the playoffs. That statement lacks a ton of context — James wasn’t 100 percent, Anthony Davis was hurt, the Phoenix Suns were better than any other team he’d played in the first round of the postseason, etc. — but James will not start the summer a little earlier than he’s used to.

It’s shaping up to be a pretty good summer for James, if only because he has options. He could, if he chooses, focus all of his attention on promoting Space Jam: A New Legacy, he can head over to Tokyo to participate in the Summer Olympics, or he can do any of the other billion things that LeBron James has on his plate. After the Lakers fell on Thursday night, though, the reigning NBA Finals MVP made clear he has one clear-cut top priority.

Via Silver Screen and Roll:

“Nah, I think I’m gonna play for the Tune Squad this summer instead of the Olympics,” James said.

“I think that’s what my focus is on, is trying to beat he Monstars, or the Goon Squad, we call them now,” James said. “I didn’t have much success vs. the Suns, so I am gearing my attention to the Goon Squad here in July.”

It probably isn’t a shock that James is passing on going to Tokyo. Even beyond the fact that the Olympics are happening amid a global pandemic, James had a short offseason heading into the 2020-21 campaign and would assuredly love to take some time to rest up with an eye on next year.

‘Loki’ Head Writer Michael Waldron Says The Show Was Inspired By Everything From ‘Blade Runner’ to ‘Mad Men’

Writer Michael Waldron scored one of the most enviable jobs in Hollywood when he was named head writer for the upcoming Loki TV series. While, on the one hand, the gig would be a dream job for any writer, it also comes with a lot of expectations—which Waldron seems to have exceeded. How else could one explain why Marvel president Kevin Feige would bring Waldron in to take over the writing on the MCU’s Doctor Strange sequel, and then tapping the writer (whose resume isn’t very long) to work on a top-secret Star Wars project?

But if you were to ask Waldron, who cut his teeth working as a production assistant for Dan Harmon on Community and Rick and Morty, the secret to his success, he’d likely give most of the credit to his writing heroes.

Given that the Marvel series finds Tom Hiddleston’s Loki at his most impish, Waldron told Vanity Fair that he felt the freedom to be inspired by a wide range of movies, TV shows, and genres, all of which found their way into the series. While he originally approached the series the same way he would an episode of Rick and Morty, which he produced and served as showrunner on for season 5, Waldron says he quickly learned that Loki would be an entirely different beast.

“I was watching Quentin Tarantino movies—Inglourious Basterds,” Waldron said of the movies that inspired Loki’s style, structure, and storylines. “Movies that luxuriate in long scenes of dialogue and tension building.” Among the other list of seemingly-having-nothing-in-common titles that made their way into season 1 of Loki: Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise, Steven Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can, and Robert Zemeckis’s Back to the Future. At the same time, according to Waldron:

“I’d say it’s something totally new! It’s MCU. It was important that every episode stood alone. The Leftovers or Watchmen, which I admired so much—every one of those episodes felt like a distinct short story. That’s the sign of a great episode of TV. ‘Oh, it’s that episode of Loki.’”

Eagle-eyed MCU fans have already mentioned noticing what seemed to be a reference to Mad Men in one of Loki’s trailers. Given that the Matthew Weiner series is Waldron’s very favorite TV show of all time, it hardly seems coincidental. Still, Waldron cites becoming the next Nora Ephron as his ultimate career goal, and believes that shines through in Loki.

“Mobius and Loki, that’s one of the love stories you might see in Loki for sure,” Waldron said. “Although if you print that, knowing our fans, they’re going to take it the wrong way.” Waldron suggests you think of it more like Tom Hanks’s FBI agent and Leonardo DiCaprio’s con man in Catch Me If You Can—Loki being the latter, with a little bit of Steve Jobs thrown in.

Loki will premiere on Disney+ on June 9th

Orville Peck Genre-Bends Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ With His ‘Country Road Version’ Cover

It’s been ten years since Lady Gaga released her iconic 2011 album Born This Way, and she announced last month that she will be marking the occasion with a rerelease, Born This Way: The Tenth Anniversary. The album includes a handful of covers of Born This Way tracks, with the first of them being Big Freedia’s take on “Judas,” which was shared alongside the announcement.

Now the next Gaga cover has been shared, and this new rendition of the title track comes courtesy of Orville Peck. Naturally, Peck’s version of the song brings it into more country territory, and it serves as proof that Gaga’s songwriting just works regardless of whatever genre you stick her songs into.

Peck wrote on social media, “I am so honoured and excited to be a part of the iconic legacy of this song and album. Thank you @ladygaga for askin me and Happy Pride y’all !!”

Aside from “Born This Way” and “Judas,” the reissue will also feature re-worked versions of “Highway Unicorn,” “You & I,” “Marry The Night,” and “The Edge Of Glory,” although it’s not yet clear which artists have been tasked with covering those songs.

Listen to Peck’s cover of “Born This Way” above.

Brie Larson’s ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World’ Song Will Finally Appear On The New Expanded Soundtrack

In a move that’s already making Scott Pilgrim vs. The World fans very happy, director Edgar Wright has revealed that an all-new expanded soundtrack will release later this summer, and it will finally include Brie Larson‘s scene-stealing cover of Metric’s “Black Sheep.” Wright announced the expanded soundtrack on Instagram along with a clip of Larson performing as Envy Adams, who was inspired by Metric singer Emily Haines, and even wore one of her outfits that Haines graciously provided for the film.

Via Instagram:

On July 9th, the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Expanded Edition) will be available on all digital music services. The expanded soundtrack includes demos from Beck and more music from the movie including Brie Larson’s performance of the @metric classic “Black Sheep”

The expanded soundtrack arrives on the heels of a never-before-seen version of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World that hit theaters back in April to celebrate the film’s 10th anniversary, which was a bold move during the pandemic. However, Wright had faith that fans would show up to see the film that was specifically designed for the theater experience.

“To be able to see it with the best specs is obviously any filmmaker’s dream. You want people to see it as good as it could possibly be. I suspect that if you’re a fan of the movie, you’re going to get such a kick out of seeing it like this,” Wright said shortly before the 10th anniversary release.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Expanded Edition) drops on July 9, 2021.
