Luka Doncic Dominated The Clippers To Give The Mavericks A 2-0 Series Lead

It’s been eight playoff games against the last two years, and the Los Angeles Clippers still have zero idea what the hell to do about Luka Doncic. The Dallas Mavericks will not complain about this, though, as their third-year superstar put on a show at the Staples Center on Tuesday night en route to a 127-121 win and a 2-0 series lead before the series shifts to the Lone Star State.

Doncic had one of his most impressive games of his young postseason career, scoring 39 points on 16-for-29 shooting and a 5-for-13 clip from the three-point line with seven rebounds and seven assists. This came despite attracting the ire of the Clippers’ top defenders, with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard hounding him throughout the game. The only thing he could not do, funny enough, was hit free throws, as he went 2-for-7 from the charity stripe.

In a sign of the 22-year-old’s mastery of the game, nothing seemed to matter. Doncic saw everything and responded, either by hitting some completely bonkers shots or setting up his teammates for clean looks.

He wasn’t the only Maverick to have a big night — Tim Hardaway Jr. and Kristaps Porzingis hit shot after shot, combining to go for 48 points on 17-for-26 shooting with a 9-for-12 clip from three. On the other side of things, Leonard (41 points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals) and George (28 points, 12 rebounds, six assists) stuffed the stat sheet, but otherwise, Reggie Jackson (15 points) was the only Clipper to score in double-digits. And for the second game in a row, Los Angeles’ defense was wholly unable to prevent Dallas from getting hot from deep, as the Mavs went 18-for-34 from behind the three-point line.

Game 3 between the Mavericks and Clippers will tip off at 9 p.m. EST on Friday night. The game is set to be broadcast on ESPN.

Anthony Davis And LeBron James Led The Lakers To A Game 2 Win To Tie Their Series With The Suns

The Los Angeles Lakers have drawn level with the Phoenix Suns. After dropping Game 1 in front of a raucous road crowd, the Lakers turned to their big guns to come out on top on Wednesday night, picking up a 109-102 win to make the series, 1-1, as the series shifts to Los Angeles.

Following his stinker in Game 1 which led to him taking responsibility for the loss, Anthony Davis came up gigantic. He lived at the free throw line and seemed to embrace contact in a way that he did not previously, scoring 34 points with 10 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks. Davis went 7-for-15 from the field and 18-for-21 from the charity stripe.

It also helps to have LeBron James in these sorts of situations. The reigning NBA Finals MVP was not as dominant as he can be when the Lakers win, but his ability to control the pace of the game was huge, as were a handful of shots he hit down the stretch to keep the pressure on Phoenix. On the night, he scored 24 points and picked up a game-high nine assists.

Perhaps the most impressive thing from the Lakers’ perspective was how they always seemed to have an answer. Enlivened by the home crowd, the Suns did not seem deterred, even when a Deandre Ayton dunk midway through the fourth quarter gave Phoenix its first lead since the first half. Marc Gasol hit a three on the ensuing trip, to which Ayton responded with another dunk to put the Suns ahead, 90-89.

From there, the Lakers’ defense put on the clamps. Perhaps it was the lack of Chris Paul, whose shoulder injury (mixed with a good night from Cameron Payne) limited him in the second half, and his ability to make things happen, but L.A. was immense, regardless, ripping off an 11-2 run to put enough distance between themselves and the home team.

It was a champion’s display from L.A., which now boasts home-court advantage in the series. And while there were plenty of positives for Phoenix — their fight was admirable, Deandre Ayton was once again great with 22 points and 10 rebounds, Devin Booker went for 31, Payne was excellent off the bench with 19 and seven assists — Paul’s ability to contribute going forward looms large. Even before he was largely put on ice in the second half, the shoulder injury he suffered in Game 1 was visibly bugging him, and it’s unclear whether he’ll be able to provide an effective counter-balance to James’ floor general abilities going forward.

Game 3 of Lakers-Suns will take place in the Staples Center on Thursday night. The game is scheduled to tip at 10 p.m. EST on TNT.

Wolf Blitzer Opened Up About Relatives He Lost To The Holocaust While Rebuking Marjorie Taylor Greene

Marjorie Taylor Greene has been a menace since well before taking office in in the House earlier this year, but she recently went next level awful. An outspoken critic of public safety measures revolving around the highly contagious COVID-19 pandemic, she last week compared those issuing mask mandates in order to protect lives to the Holocaust. She of course doubled and tripled, maybe even quadrupled down on this offensive comments, but after nearly a week she was finally condemned by leading members of her own party. Even Ben Shapiro came for her.

Another person who rebuked her was Wolf Blitzer. The CNN anchor usually stays detached, rarely letting his personal life infringe upon reporting the news. But on Tuesday night he made an exception. He and Dana Bash both have family who fled Nazi Germany or were imprisoned, even died in concentration camps. And they brought personal history to bear while wondering how someone like her would use unimaginable tragedy simply to stir up her base.

“None of this should be political,” Bash said to Blitzer. “My grandparents were Nazi refugees. My great-grandparents perished at Auschwitz, you know. Maybe a yellow star was something that was, you know — a yellow star was horrible, being gassed, which is what my great grandparents were, is a whole different thing, and to compare that to the notion of public health and wearing a mask is just beyond the pale. I can’t imagine what it’s like for you, Wolf. Your parents were in slave labor camps.”

“And I’m the son of Holocaust survivors, and all four of my grandparents were murdered during the Holocaust, and two of them at Auschwitz,” Blitzer replied. “I never knew any of my grandparents. My parents did survive. They were young and strong and came to the United States and started a new life after World War II in beautiful Buffalo, New York, and had this great opportunity.”

He then reflected on the Jan. 6 insurrection, which saw some rioters dressed in Nazi wear:

“But I’ve often said, especially since we saw on that January 6th assault on the U.S. Capitol that guy raring that ‘Camp Auschwitz’ shirt,” he said. “My parents had passed away, but if they would have seen that, they would have said, ‘How is that possible here in the United States of America to see something like that going on.’ And if they would have heard the words this so-called congresswoman uttered, these ugly, ugly comparisons between wearing masks to save yourself and to save others, they would have — they wouldn’t have believed that this was possible in our country.”

Will any of this shame Greene? Considering she was even condemned by the Auschwitz Museum itself for her ahistorical and insensitive false equivalency, probably not.

But that doesn’t mean people should stop calling her out for crossing the line, and then some.

You can watch Bash and Blitzer speak about Greene in the video above.

Marilyn Manson Is Wanted On Assault Charges For Allegedly Spitting On A Videographer

Marilyn Manson’s alleged wrongdoings from his past have once again caught up to him. On Tuesday, New Hampshire’s Gilford Police Department revealed that an arrest warrant on assault charges was in place for the singer in regards to a 2019 incident. Video obtained by TMZ allegedly shows Manson, during a concert at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion on August 18, 2019, spitting into a camera that was used as a part of the venue’s feed. The videographer who was behind the camera also claims that some of the singer’s spit landed on them, and as a result, they decided to press charges.

The Gilford Police Department says Manson will face two counts of simple assault for the incident. In a statement they shared on Tuesday, the police department said Manson and his representatives “have been aware of the warrant for some time and no effort has been made by him to return to New Hampshire to answer the pending charges.” He could potentially spend two years in prison and face a $4,000 fine as a result of the charges.

Officials also made it clear that the warrant they issued is in no way connected to the sexual assault allegations that Manson has faced in past months, over which the Los Angeles County’s Sheriff Department and the FBI have reportedly begun investigations. Manson was also recently sued by actress Esme Bianco, who made human trafficking and abuse allegations against him.

From ‘Resident Evil’ to ‘SAW,’ Here Are All Of The ‘Dead By Daylight’ Killer Crossovers

When it comes to which games are offering players the greatest multiplayer experience right now, Dead By Daylight is one of the top contenders — if you can stomach it. The tense game is a blast, and features nearly 50 characters to either run the show or run from. While nearly every character has their own perks and unique playstyle, some of them come with an added edge: recognition. Since the game’s release back in 2016, Behaviour Interactive has joined forces with ten different properties to create some incredibly fun crossovers. From the one that started it all to the recently announced Resident Evil, these are all of the game’s many killer collaborations.

NINTENDO

Halloween (October 2016)

This is the one that first kicked off licensed characters appearing in Dead By Daylight, and honestly what an iconic start. The Halloween movies are a staple in the horror genre, Dropping just days before its namesake holiday, “The HALLOWEEN Chapter” introduced obsessive killer Michael Meyers (referred to as “The Shape” in the game), scream queen Laurie Strode, and the town of Haddonfield.
YOUTUBE

Left 4 Dead (March 2017)

While many assumed more classic horror films would follow, Dead By Daylight shook it up by incorporating a fellow game IP into the mix. In “PARAGRAPH I: Left Behind,” a DLC pack originally exclusive to PC, William “Bill” Overbeck was introduced to the game to the delight of many. You see, prior to Dead By Daylight, Left 4 Dead was one of the most memorable horror multiplayer experiences on the market, making this crossover all the more meaningful to fans of the genre.

NINTENDO

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (September 2017)

And now for the return of the hallmarks of horror! Later in 2017, Dead By Daylight introduced The Texas Chainsaw Massacre into the game through “PARAGRAPH II: LEATHERFACE,” another small DLC pack. The pack contained killer Leatherface, referred to as “The Cannibal” in the game. For those afraid of chainsaws, his inclusion made the game all that more terrifying.

YOUTUBE

A Nightmare on Elm Street (October 2017)

So, how do you follow up Leatherface? With Freddy Krueger of course. Freddy (aka “The Nightmare”) and survivor Quentin Smith came to Dead By Daylight as a part of ” CHAPTER VI: A Nightmare on Elm Street,” complete with the restless town of Springwood. While Freddy was a character folks surely saw coming, it came as a shock to some that Quentin was included rather than Nancy.

MICROSOFT

SAW (January 2018)

Seeing as how Friday the 13th already had its own successful asymmetrical multiplayer game by this point, it didn’t seem very likely Jason would make an appearance alongside fellow horror icons. So, instead of looking back, Dead By Daylight selected a decidedly more current franchise for its next DLC pack: SAW. In “The SAW Chapter,” killer Amanda Young (“The Pig”), survivor Detective David Tapp, and the Gideon Meat Plant were introduced.

YOUTUBE
Scream (June 2019)
Whether or not the series truly introduced Scream into the game with this update almost feels… debatable. For the game’s 12th chapter, Dead By Daylight brought in legendary murderer Ghost Face but did not accompany him with a location or survivor. In fact, nowhere in the statement does it even mention Scream, which could mean this Ghost Face is more or less a homebrewed version of the Scream character. However, fans did point out that the killer has the same mannerisms as the movie killer — including little things like how he wipes blood from his knife. The line is blurry with this one.
MICROSOFT

Stranger Things (September 2019)

Following the critical acclaim of Stranger Things, I think a lot of folks were ready to run from the dreaded Demogorgon in a horror game. In Dead By Daylight, fans got their wish with the “Stranger Things Chapter.” The chapter introduced The Demogorgon, of course, as well as survivors Nancy Wheeler and fan-favorite Steve Harrington. It also came with a new map, the Underground Complex, which is based on the labs beneath Hawkins in the Netflix show.
MICROSOFT

Ash Vs The Evil Dead (April 2019)

If all this shock and horror left you craving a bit of levity, your wish was granted in “PARAGRAPH III: Ash vs The Evil Dead.” Like all the previous paragraphs, the small DLC bundle simply comes with one character — Ash Williams — but introduces a lot of fun into the series. While he might not come with his chainsaw or “boomstick,” he does come with laughs.
YOUTUBE

Silent Hill (June 2020)

For the first time since the Left 4 Dead paragraph DLC back in 2017, Dead By Daylight chose to incorporate a horror game IP into the game and, perhaps more importantly, selected one that started quite the frenzy. Much like Resident Evil, Silent Hill is a staple horror survival series, however, unlike Resident Evil, the developers haven’t been doing much with the series — at least not publicly. The inclusion of Silent Hill characters Pyramid Head and Cheryl Mason, and Midwich Elementary school has made fans suspect there might be a new Silent Hill game in the works.
YOUTUBE

Resident Evil (June 2021)

And last but certainly not least, earlier today Dead By Daylight dropped the trailer for the next big crossover: Resident Evil. Following Silent Hill and the Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes, it’s a collaboration that feels natural but is exciting nevertheless. With so many iconic characters to choose from, we’re sure it was hard narrowing down on bringing aboard killer Nemesis and survivors Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy, but we’re glad they did. In addition, this new chapter comes with the Raccoon City Police Department map, the setting of Resident Evil 2. The pack will be available to purchase starting June 15, 2021.

Anthony Davis Got A Flagrant Foul For Kicking Jae Crowder In The Nuts On A Jumper A Minute Into Game 2

Game 2 of the Phoenix Suns’ series with the Los Angeles Lakers promised to be testy. Emotions boiled over during the first game of the series, which saw the Suns come out on top, and as a result, the defending champions faced an unenviable situation against a frisky, up-and-coming team that can legitimately win four out of seven against them.

Of course, exactly how things were going to get testy was unknown until about a minute in, at which point it got more testes than testy. Anthony Davis stared down Jae Crowder after the veteran swingman picked up an early foul, and by way of a quick jumper that happened before Crowder could pull his hand out of the way, there was just enough contact to have him pick up a second.

But Davis also got his money’s worth, kicking out his right foot on the jumper and getting Crowder squarely below the belt.

Plenty of questions will be asked about how, exactly, Davis did this and whether or not it was intentional. He ended up picking up a flagrant 1 as a result of this, and unsurprisingly, Kevin Harlan of TNT had a little fun with the whole thing.

Here’s to hoping Crowder’s ok, because this looked like it hurt a lot.

SZA Says ‘I Really Hate My Label’ After ‘Good Days’ Dropped Out Of The ‘Billboard’ Hot 100 Chart

SZA has had her fair share of quarrels with her label, Top Dawg Entertainment. An example came on Tuesday after news that her most recent single, “Good Days,” fell out of the Billboard Hot 100 after staying within the singles chart for 20 consecutive weeks. The song was released on Christmas Day and later peaked at No. 9 on the chart before its descent began. After getting word that the song was gone, SZA didn’t take it kindly.

“I really hate my label . So much,” she wrote under a SZA fan account page that shared the news. The singer did not specify why she put the blame on her label. It should also be noted that SZA is signed to both TDE and RCA, so it’s unknown who her comments are exactly directed at, but given her past, it’s safe to guess that the message is aimed at the former.

Last summer, SZA called out TDE’s president, Terrence “Punch” Henderson, for not releasing some of her new music. “At this point y’all gotta ask punch,” she tweeted, adding, “I’ve done all I can do.” SZA’s frustration was exacerbated when one person revealed that Punch merely said “soon” when they asked him about a release date for her upcoming music. “This is all he says to me as well,” she wrote. “Welcome to my f*cking life .”

The Nets Beat The Celtics So Bad That Brooklyn Fans Chanted ‘We Want Tacko’

The Boston Celtics put at least a minor scare into the Brooklyn Nets in Game 1 of their best-of-seven matchup on Saturday. Boston led by as many as 12 points before halftime and held an advantage in the second half, only to falter late and lose by an 11-point final margin. In Game 2, however, there was no such drama, as the Nets threw the first, second and third punches to open up a significant lead they would never relinquish on the way to a 130-108 victory.

While things were relatively tight in the opening minutes, the Nets put distance between themselves and the Celtics with a 16-0 run in the first quarter. That push gave Brooklyn a 30-13 lead and, at that juncture, Nets wing Joe Harris was outscoring the Celtics by himself with 16 points on 6-for-7 shooting and 4-for-4 from three-point range.

By halftime, the Nets led by 24 points and Harris had 22 points of his own, including a 6-for-8 mark from three-point distance.

Brooklyn put on an offensive clinic from start to finish, shooting 59 percent from the floor and 14-of-26 from three in the first 36 minutes. The Nets did pedal off late to settle in with a smaller margin of victory, but Brooklyn did lead by as many as 33 points and old friend Blake Griffin contributed the biggest highlight of the second half.

Things got so dire for the Celtics in the fourth quarter that some fans at Barclays Center began chanting for Boston backup center Tacko Fall to check into the game. The issue, though, was that Fall was inactive for Game 2.

Even with Brooklyn openly coasting in the fourth quarter, they finished with 52/45/96 shooting and 31 assists on the way to a (very) easy 13-point output. Kevin Durant produced 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists in fewer than 30 minutes on the floor, with Harris generating 25 points on only 14 shot attempts. Kyrie Irving (15 points, six assists, six rebounds) and James Harden (20 points, seven assists, five rebounds) were able to save energy for later in the series and beyond while still performing at a high level.

On a night when Jayson Tatum exited after being poked in the eye, Game 2 was a reminder that Brooklyn’s overall baseline is far higher than that of the Celtics, particularly without Jaylen Brown. Though anything can happen, the Nets appear to be in complete control with a 2-0 series lead, and the two teams get back together on Friday evening for Game 3 in Boston.

Lil Baby Accompanied The Family Of The Late George Floyd During A Visit To The White House

Tuesday marks exactly one year since George Floyd was tragically killed by Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin. The incident sparked nationwide protests, with millions angry that yet another Black life was lost at the hands of police. Days later, Chauvin would be arrested and charged with second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter; in April, he was found guilty on all counts. Fast-forward to today and the family of the late George Floyd visited the White House to meet with President Joe Biden. They were also accompanied by Lil Baby.

Floyd’s family met with the president to discuss police legislation. Video provided by TMZ shows the rapper, when asked about the specifics of their meeting with President Biden, saying he was “trying to pass the George Floyd Police Act bill.” Shortly after a guilty verdict against Chauvin was reached, Biden asked lawmakers to revisit the bill, formally known as the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, which would ban chokeholds, make it easier to prosecute officers for fradulent offenses, and place restrictions on the use of deadly force.

This is not the first time Lil Baby has helped Floyd’s family. Back in December, he and former NBA basketball player Stephen Jackson threw a birthday party for Floyd’s daughter, Giana, with help from Atlanta restauranteurs Ericka and William Platt of Restaurant Ten and Rosie’s Café.
