Polo G And DaBaby Join Forces To Show Their Lavish Lifestyles In The Video For ‘Party Lyfe’

While Polo G has had a rough past couple of days, the Chicago rapper can keep his head high as his third album, Hall Of Fame, continues to get positive reviews. The project is also projected to go No. 1 and beat out Migos’ Culture III for the top spot on the albums chart. While we’re a few days away from finding out who will claim that crown, Polo G extends the promotional run for Hall Of Fame with a new video for “Party Lyfe.”

The video, which features DaBaby, gives viewers a look into the lavish lifestyles the two rappers enjoy, from riding around in luxury cars to standing in the middle of a packed party.

Polo G’s latest release arrives after he was arrested in Miami following an album release party for Hall Of Fame. The rapper and an officer “ended up in a struggle on the ground” following a traffic stop for suspected possession of weapons. In the end, Polo G was arrested and charged with battery against a police officer, public servant/influence performance threat, resisting an officer with violence, resisting an officer without violence, and criminal mischief. He was later released after posting a $19,500 bond.

You can watch the video for “Party Lyfe” above.

Hall Of Fame is out now via Columbia Records. Get it here.

Ritz Moreno Has Apologized For Her ‘In The Heights’ Statements: ‘I’m Incredibly Disappointed With Myself’

The release of In the Heights, the big-screen adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s first Broadway show, has not gone as swimmingly as some would have liked. For one thing, it underperformed at the box office. For another, it attracted rave reviews but also some very pointed criticism, with some taking issue with the dearth of Afro-Latinos performers. On Tuesday night, legendary actress and performer Rita Moreno — whose new doc is executive produced by Miranda — tried to come to the film’s defense, only to inspire a backlash of her own.

On Wednesday she issued a mea culpa to The Hollywood Reporter, apologizing for what she’d said and trying to make amends with the community to which the Puerto Rican icon belongs.

Moreno’s inciting words came during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Before that, Miranda himself had already issued a formal apology, saying, “In trying to paint a mosaic of this community, we fell short. I’m truly sorry.” But when asked about the controversy, Moreno offered a fulsome defense of the Hamilton creator.

“It’s like you can never do right it seems,” she told Colbert. “This is the man who literally has brought Latino-ness and Puerto Rican-ness to America. I couldn’t do it. I would love to say I did, but I couldn’t. When Colbert pressed her to clarify her position, she replied, “Well I’m simply saying: Can’t you just wait a while and leave it alone?”, adding, “They’re really attacking the wrong person.”

The response was volcanic, with many disappointed that Moreno — the first Hispanic actress to win an Oscar, for West Side Story, who fought to shatter many a glass ceiling — would be defensive about what were seen as legitimate critiques of a movie even its playwright felt fell short. But Moreno eventually issued an apology:

“I’m incredibly disappointed with myself. While making a statement in defense of Lin Manuel Miranda on the Colbert Show last night, I was clearly dismissive of black lives that matter in our Latin community. It is so easy to forget how celebration for some is lament for others. In addition to applauding Lin for his wonderful movie version of In the Heights, let me add my appreciation for his sensitivity and resolve to be more inclusive of the Afro-Latino community going forward. See, you CAN teach this old dog new tricks.”

Moreno is herself an executive producer of Steven Spielberg’s forthcoming remake of West Side Story, which shares certain affinities with In the Heights. She’s also the subject of Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go For It, chronicling her decades as a groundbreaking star. In the Heights is now playing in theaters and on HBO Max.

Lorde Might Have A Song Titled ‘Every Perfect Summer’s Gotta Take Its Flight’ On The Way

While it’s only been four years since we received a new album from Lorde, it feels like it’s been much longer, as the New Zealand singer has given fans little to enjoy since her 2017 album Melodrama. The wait is coming to an end soon as she announced her third full-length effort, Solar Power, is on the way. She’s already released its title track as she readies the album for release. As the wait continues, Lorde is now teasing what could be the album’s second single.

A soundless video entitled “Every Perfect Summer’s Gotta Take Its Flight” can be found playing on the singer’s website. It shows a bird’s eye view of an area filled with green pastures before it zooms in on the logo for her Solar Power album that’s been cut into the grass.

Shortly after she released her album’s first single “Solar Power,” Lorde delivered some insight about her third album in the form of a lengthy newsletter. “The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalising the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors,” she wrote. “In times of heartache, grief, deep love, or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learnt to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through.”

Mom’s funny impression of her husband proves that ‘all women are married to the same guy’

Kat Stickler has created a hilarious series of videos about her husband that a lot of women say they can relate to because theirs behave the exact same way.

Stickler is a mother who shares funny videos about her domestic life on TikTok where she’s earned over six million followers.

In the videos, she transforms into her husband Mike by throwing on a backward baseball cap and adopting a deeper voice. From the videos, it’s pretty clear that Mike always wants some sort of praise for doing the things he’s supposed to do.

The interesting thing about the couple is that they went from dating to parents pretty much overnight. Three months after their first date, Kat was pregnant and they were married.

In the first video, Mike goes fishing for praise for doing the dishes, gets very specific about how the couple should watch the “Star Wars” movies, and laments over the fact that the baby prefers his mother.

One of the most endearing things about the couple is that it’s pretty clear Mike is filming the sketches and that he thinks Kat is hilarious.

@katstickler

This was fun #coupleschallenge #couplegoals #fyp #4u #viral #justforfun #xbox

In the second video, Mike tries to take credit for changing a diaper. “Did you notice the diaper’s clean? [The baby] pooped and I cleaned it. Did you see that?” he asks.

He also tries his best to take credit for doing the laundry, even though he has no idea what to do with it after it’s dry.

@katstickler

A fun time😂 #couplecomedy #coupleschallenge #fyp #4u #viral #momsoftiktok #babiesoftiktok

In the third video as Mike, Kat changed things up a bit by mimicking her husband’s reaction to getting a dog that, at first, he didn’t want. And, just like the baby, he hopes that the dog likes him more than Kat. “Babe, ummm, I’m gonna feed her from now on so that she’ll like me more,” he says.

“I’m almost convinced we’re all married to the same man,” wrote one impressed TikTok user.

“All husbands share the same brain,” another TikToker responded.

These videos were made in 2020 and unfortunately, Kat and Mike announced that after a very short marriage they have separated.

They posted a joint video on March 17 where they tearfully addressed the state of their relationship.

“Unfortunately, [the rumors] are true. We are separating. We just wanted to be transparent with you guys, because you guys have been with us from the beginning of this whole journey,” she said.

It appears as though Mike has to bear the brunt of the blame for the relationship’s failure.

“Kat is not at fault at all for any of this, just so you know,” Mike says in the video. “There’s a lot of things I need to work on in my own life.”

Now that Kat’s single, let’s hope that the next guy has a good sense of humor and hilarious foibles for her to mimic. Chances are they’ll be just the same as her ex’s.

A Republican Congressman Reportedly Wouldn’t Even Shake The Hand Of A Capitol Police Officer Who Defended Him During The Jan. 6 Insurrection

The Republican party has spent the last five months by and large downplaying the deadly insurrection of Jan. 6, even though everyone in the building that die was in grave danger. Almost none of them voted for a federal investigation into what happened, even if that meant snubbing the traumatized Capitol officers who begged them to do otherwise, despite their claims to love the police. (Though at least they showed up.) But one GOP lawmaker reportedly went further than most.

According to Mediaite, Officer Michael Fanone, a DC Metropolitan officer who has been very outspoken about his experiences that day, was on Capitol Hill on Wednesday when he ran into Andrew Clyde, a representative from Georgia. If Clyde is famous for anything, it’s for his gaslight-y attempts to portray the day’s events as, you know, a pretty normal weekday, saying things like, “if you didn’t know the TV footage was a video from January 6, you would actually think it was a normal tourist visit.”

Fanone, who has made it pretty clear what he thinks about Republicans who voted down the Jan. 6 commission, told Democratic congressmen Eric Swalwell and Adam Kinzinger that, upon seeing Clyde, he introduced himself. But Clyde, despite his tough talk, “refused to shake his hand.”

If true, it’s a pretty damning account of where the Republican party is some five months later: so unwilling to cut ties with a one-term, septuagenarian president who can’t spell “junkie” and who failed at blogging that they’ve decided “blue lives” don’t matter. “To honor Trump,” Swalwell wrote on Twitter, “@housegop will dishonor the police.”

Kenny Mason Bikes Through The Neighborhood With Friends In His Grainy Video For ‘Play Ball’

Kenny Mason continues to thrive as a talented genre-bending act, and with festival season around the corner — and with smaller concerts making a return, too — the Atlanta rapper is destined to have a great summer. Before all that, Mason returns with a new video for “Play Ball,” a track housed on his most recent project Angelic Hoodrat: Supercut. The video finds him accompanied by his friends as they take a leisurely bike ride through a neighborhood. The track’s gritty production serves as a nice juxtaposition with the serene landscape they ride in.

In addition to “Play Ball,” Mason has in recent months also dropped videos for “Pup,” “4ever,” and “Much Money.” All three can also be found on Angelic Hoodrat: Supercut, which he released back in April to commemorate the one-year anniversary on his debut album, Angelic Hoodrat. The new edition came with additional features from Freddie Gibbs, Denzel Curry, Angel White, and Ambar Lucid.

As for what’s next, Mason is preparing to hit the road for festival season. Mason has locked in sets at this year’s upcoming Rolling Loud Miami, Lollapalooza, Music Midtown, Firefly, and HIVE Music festivals.

Therapist with ADHD explains how she ‘learned to clean as a messy person’

Some people are neat freaks and some people aren’t. Most of us prefer a clean and tidy space, but not all of us are able to maintain one. Not only do people go through various stages of life that make keeping house trickier than other times, but some people have neurological, psychological, and emotional realities that make it harder than it is for others.

The problem is, a messy house is often a source of judgment and shame.

Licensed therapist and TikToker Kc Davis is turning that notion on its head with videos that explain how her own ADHD impacts her messiness and how she’s learned “to clean as a messy person.”

Davis shared a video showing her doing “a full reset” of her space while explaining the various reasons why some people don’t have the executive function capabilities to “clean as they go.” From ADHD to physical disabilities to having experienced abuse surrounding cleaning, some people find it impossible to keep things neat and tidy. For people who don’t struggle with executive dysfunction, this video may not make sense, but for those who do, it’s extremely validating.

“I don’t often go into specifics about why my house is messy that day because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter,” she said. “It’s not about me proving to some internet stranger that my house is messy for an acceptable reason. It’s about getting a message of compassion and hope out there to anyone that struggles. Regardless of your level of functioning, you deserve kindness.”

Her caption may be the most validating of all:

“Mess is morally neutral and shame is the enemy of functioning.”

@domesticblisters

Mess is morally neutral and shame is the enemy of functioning. #strugglecare #findyourway #selfcompassion #cleantok

That video was viewed more than a million times.

In another video, which has been viewed more than 9 million times, Davis explained how she changed how she viewed cleaning.

“For the longest time, I thought what I needed was for someone to teach me how to not be messy,” she said, “but every attempt at a ritual or routine that was aimed at making me not messy failed, and I thought I had failed.

“What I needed was not someone who was going to try to turn me from a messy person to a neat person, but someone to teach me how to clean as a messy person. Someone to give me the freedom to just live my day the way I wanted to live it without thinking about things and the tools to create a routine at the end of the night to reset the space to functional without feeling overwhelmed or exhausted.”

As she’s explaining this, she’s “resetting” her kitchen space with the help of a 15-minute timer. Even just calling it “resetting” is a helpful mind-shift for people who feel overwhelmed by the idea of “cleaning.”

@domesticblisters

The key to a functional home does NOT include changing who you are. #strugglecare #messy #LoveMeMode #cleantok

“The key to a functional home does NOT include changing who you are,” she wrote in the caption. That permission to live as a messy person with tools to stay functional is huge, judging from the comments. While some naturally neat folks were mortified by the mess in her video, those who related to it felt seen and heard. Those are the people she’s trying to reach.

Thanks, Kc Davis, for giving a voice to those with executive dysfunction and for helping everyone be more compassionate and understanding of one another.

Jean Smart Says Her Role In ‘Watchmen’ Was Originally Supposed To Go To Sigourney Weaver

Jean Smart is, as they say, having a moment. Uproxx even dubbed what this “the goddamned summer of Jean Smart.” She stole all her scenes in Mare of Easttown. (Or maybe it’s better to say she brought it as great as Kate Winslet did.) She’s killing it as the lead on HBO Max’s Hacks. And it wasn’t that long ago that she earned a well-deserved Emmy nomination for her work in Damon Lindelof’s TV sequel-of-sorts to Alan Moore’s Watchmen. That’s all well and good, but in a new interview, she says that role was once supposed to go to someone else.

Smart did a Variety chat with SNL star Bowen Yang, in which they spoke to each other about their fairly different careers. At one point the onetime sentient Titanic iceberg brough up Watchmen, in which she played the older version of Silk Spectre, the retired crime fighter-turned-fed. Well, it wasn’t supposed to be Jean Smart doing all that.

“I was sort of shot from guns because they hired me two days before I started,” Smart told Yang. “I’ll be really honest: I had Sigourney Weaver to thank for turning down the role. So, thank you, Sigourney.”

Weaver might have been a bigger name, as well as a huge presence in sci-fi, and she probably would have brought a similar-but-different air of no-nonsense-ness and pathos to a character haunted by all that’s come before. And while it’s a fun thought experiment to picture her in the role, it also all worked out in the end.

It also brought Smart into a genre she’d never done before. “I knew nothing about the graphic novel,” she confessed. “I knew nothing about the story at all. I started reading the pilot, and I said, ‘Oh, my God, this is amazing.’ I’d never really done that science-fiction genre, and the fact that Damon was able to use that tragic part of our history that almost no one knew about — that was what was so shocking, that I had never heard of the Tulsa massacre. That’s why I think he said no when I asked him to do a second season because I think he put everything into that.”

And where can you can watch Hacks, Mare of Easttown, and Watchmen? All on HBO Max. If, however, you want to go classic Jean Smart, you can find Designing Women on Hulu.

Michael Cohen Claimed Trump Once Said He’d Rather Don Jr. Go To Prison Over Ivanka Because ‘He Can Handle It’

The people who know Donald Trump well — and have managed to escape his orbit — don’t seem to think of him too highly. Mary Trump, his niece, wrote an entire bestseller about him, with a subtitle referring to him as “the world’s most dangerous man.” Recently she claimed, with clear certainty, that he would throw his kids under the bus to protect him from the feds if he had to. Now another person who knows the former president well, his ex-lawyer Michael Cohen, is saying pretty much the same thing.

According to Raw Story, Cohen — who is currently serving time, in home confinement, for things he did for his old client — did a wide-ranging interview with The Lincoln Project, the organization of anti-Trump Republicans who joined forces in an attempt to keep him from a second term. They were discussing the likely indictment of Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg, and the possibility that someone in the actual family could go to jail, including the big boy himself.

Cohen then regaled his hosts with a story. It was one he’d written about in his 2020 tell-all Disloyal, but it never gained much traction. That’s incredible because it’s pretty juicy: Cohen recalled a conversation he once had with Trump in which he wondered aloud what he would do if he had to choose a child to go to prison. If it was between Ivanka and Don Jr., Trump chose Don Jr., because, he allegedly said, “he can handle it.”

The Trump children have remained loyal to their father through thick and thin, although Tiffany and Barron keep a low (or, in the latter case, non-existent) profile. But here we have two separate people in the know telling us their loyalty to him doesn’t matter that much.

Cohen said a lot more over the lengthy chat. When asked what he thought Trump was feeling during the Jan. 6 insurrection, he speculated that he probably loved it, saying it was “better than sex.” He compared the man who employed him for 12 years to Jim Jones, the Jonestown cult leader who poisoned his flock. He described Mar-a-Lago, where Trump spends most of his time (sans Milania and Barron, it seems), as “an insane asylum for incredibly wealthy sycophants who want to sit there and pet the fat ass of Donald Trump.”

He did shoot down one popular theory: the elusive, possibly fictitious “pee tape,” the damning video allegedly owned by Vladimir Putin as a blackmail tool. But Cohen doubts it exists because, in Raw Story’s words, “he would have been able to find it.”

Anyway, Don Jr. will probably record some suspiciously amped-up motel video to refute Cohen’s claims rather than face up to the possibility that his dad might like him less than Ivanka.

You can watch the full video here. Cohen pops up around the 23-minute mark.
