First, Gracie Abrams had the opportunity to open for Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour. Now, the two are about to be together on the same song: Abrams shared the tracklist for her upcoming album The Secret Of Us today (May 13), revealing that Swift features on a track called “Us.”
When Does Gracie Abrams And Taylor Swift’s New Song “Us” Come Out?
The song appears on The Secret Of Us, which is set for release on June 21. So, at the latest, that’s when fans will get to hear it, although it’s possible that Abrams shares the song before then. She hasn’t indicated that she’ll do that, though, so again, it’ll be out by June 21 at the latest.
Abrams previously said of the album, “We had real, true fun writing this album. There were also the occasional tears. Audrey [Hobert] and I wrote Risk on our couch at home. Aaron [Dessner] produced the sh*t out of it. Abby [Waisler] shot the cover. The music is yours in basically five seconds and we cannot wait. I. Love. You.”

My first thought after seeing Mad Max: Fury Road was, “This is a masterpiece.” My second thought? “How did no one die?” The George Miller-directed film had a demanding shoot in rough conditions with dangerous stunts and hundreds of extras, and it nearly broke stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. But on the bright side, at least no one was fatally injured! To quote Steven Soderbergh, “I don’t understand how hundreds of people aren’t dead.”
Anya Taylor-Joy might have died a little inside shooting the prequel, however.
“I’ve never been more alone than making that movie,” the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga actress told the New York Times. “I don’t want to go too deep into it, but everything that I thought was going to be easy was hard.” When pressed what exactly she was referring to, Taylor-Joy replied, “Next question, sorry,” she said. After taking a brief-but-telling pause, she added, “Talk to me in 20 years. Talk to me in 20 years.”
I’m adding “ask ATJ about Furiosa” to my Google Calendar for May 13, 2044. By then, Piss Boy, a boy who drinks piss, will be a Piss Man.
New Mad Max has a character called Piss Boy, a boy who drinks piss

That’s especially a question with this Suns team, as Budenholzer has historically asked his teams to fire away from three and attack the rim, while the Suns feature two of the NBA’s best and highest volume midrange shooters in Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. Navigating that potential clash of styles will be fascinating, and the only way the Suns will make improvements next year is to get more buy-in from their stars to play within Bud’s system (who, to be clear, will have to also figure out how to adapt that to the strengths of his stars).
Cohesion wasn’t exactly a word you threw around a lot while watching the Suns play, and that gives plenty of pause for concern when it comes to them making changes with this group next season. On Monday’s episode of First Take, Stephen A. Smith laid out why one of the big problems the Suns have (and had last year) was Kevin Durant.
Stephen A. Smith: “Here’s where Mike Wilbon didn’t go into the details that all of us covering the NBA are aware of: Kevin Durant in Phoenix is a problem. It is a problem. We don’t see it because the stats are there… but they say Kevin Durant is never happy. They say he went… pic.twitter.com/p29Ad1ctwc
— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) May 13, 2024
As Smith notes, Durant isn’t actively sabotaging the Suns or even doing anything in particular wrong, he just prefers to show up, hoop, and go about his business. He’s obviously extremely good at doing just that, but as Smith explains, the Suns need more from him in terms of leadership and bringing the team together if they’re going to be a real contender. Without it, there’s a void others need to pick up and in Phoenix, there’s not really anyone capable of doing so.
Durant will likely brush this aside, but Smith points out this has been an issue elsewhere, highlighting how it was a big contributing factor in his exit from Golden State. It is a difficult thing to really discuss because it’s not that Durant’s a bad teammate, Smith makes sure to point out that’s not what he’s saying, it’s just he’s a guy that plays a role that typically needs to also shoulder a larger leadership burden. Stephen A. doesn’t seem to think he wants to embrace that part of the job, and that ends up being to the detriment of his teams. That can work in a place with a defined culture in place (like Golden State), but with a Suns team where they’re trying to establish that kind of culture, your best players usually have to be the ones creating that.
The “not happy” element will likely be what Durant pushes back on. He’s not exactly a bubbly personality so I wouldn’t be surprised if his day-to-day demeanor is read as unhappy when in reality it’s probably just his baseline. However, the rest of Smith’s points certainly seem like they have some credence to them, and it’ll be up to Durant and the Suns to make the requisite changes to turn things around next year to avoid a repeat performance.
aespa are undeniable leaders in K-pop exports: Two of their EPs (not even full-length albums, but EPs) have hit the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. Now, they’ll have a chance to put a full-blown LP on the chart with Armageddon, which is set to drop soon, on May 27. Before that, the girl group has unveiled a video for a new single, “Supernova.”
The tune is a cross-genre banger, combining elements of pop, dance, hip-hop, and electronic music into one cohesive package. The video is a dynamic clip featuring superb choreography and some surreal circumstances: Right off the bat, one of the group members survives a fall from way high up onto a car, leaving the vehicles in shambles but herself unscathed. All in all, it’s a rapid-fire clip that never telegraphs what’s coming next.
Already, it’s a hit: As of this post, it’s the No. 1 trending video on all of YouTube and has over 10 million views in just 10 hours.

Walt Disney World announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a reimagining of Splash Mountain, will open to the public in Magic Kingdom on June 28. Based on the 2009 Oscar-nominated animated film The Princess and the Frog, the ride is described as “a musical adventure” through the bayou,” according to Disney. “Along the way, you will see some familiar faces, make new friends, and travel through the bayou into the next chapter of Tiana’s story.” There will be new animatronics and new music, but the thrilling 50-foot drop remains.
Brian Orr, the show systems studio executive of Walt Disney Imagineering, discussed the state-of-the-art animatronics with Disney Parks Blog. “These figures build on our legacy with even more sophistication,” he said. “Looking back at where we’ve been, I am immensely proud of this team who constantly pushes the envelope of creativity to champion us forward beyond imagination. We cannot wait for you to see how Imagineers have built on our history and continue to tell amazing stories through the blending of art and science.”
The gator better be covered in beignet dust, y’know, for accuracy’s sake.
You can learn more about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which open in California’s Disneyland Park later this year, by heading to Disney’s website. And watching the date-announcement video above.
There are only 10 episodes in the first season, including the three-part finale. Episode 10, titled “Tolerance is Extinction,” will appear on Disney+ on Wednesday, May 15, at 12:00 a.m. PST/ 3 a.m. EST. Here is the official synopsis: “The X-Men’s dream is put to the test as mutant-human relations reach a tipping point.”
Even though season one is almost done, there’s some good news on the horizon. A special, The Making of X-Men ’97, will drop on Disney+ on May 22 and give fans a behind the scenes look at the revival series.
The series was already renewed for a second and third (!!) season, so we don’t have to wait another 20+ years to rejoin the mutant gang.
Unfortunately, former showrunner Beau DeMayo, who was fired from the gig days before season one began, confirmed that the character of Deadpool was “off-limits,” so we probably won’t get a Ryan Reynolds cameo anytime soon. He has enough fun on his own, anyway.
Over the years, more and more artists have jumped into the music festival game. This week, Aminé joins the likes of Chance The Rapper, Tyler The Creator and J. Cole with The Best Day Ever Festival, coming to his hometown, Portland, Oregon’s Edgefield Lawn on August 10 and 11. Aminé made the announcement in his usual, quirky way, employing a helicopter to announce the lineup in a colorful trailer, which you can watch below.
Naturally, Aminé himself will headline alongside his Kaytraminé collaborator Kaytranada, with a lineup rounded out by avant-garde jazz band BADBADNOTGOOD, breakout Atlanta rap star Karrahbooo, Aminé’s tour DJ MadisonLST, R&B singer Ravyn Lenae, chillwave pioneer Toro y Moi, and Portland rapper 3WayHeff.
Tickets for the festival go on sale beginning on Friday, May 17, at 10 AM PT, at thebestdayeverfest.com.
Aminé
Although Aminé hasn’t put out a new album since 2020’s Limbo, Aminé fans haven’t gone too long without something exciting from the “Caroline” rapper. In 2021, he dropped TwoPointFive, the follow-up to his 2018 mixtape OnePointFive, holding fans over until last year, when he teamed up with Kaytranada to release Kaytraminé. Although Aminé hasn’t announced a new album for 2024, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see him do so before his performance at The Best Day Ever Festival.
Gracie Abrams and Taylor Swift have a lot in common: They both performed on The Eras Tour and they’ve both worked with Aaron Dessner. Now there’s another overlap to add to the list: They’re both on Abrams’ upcoming album, The Secret Of Us.
Abrams shared the tracklist today, revealing that Swift is featured on the song “Us.”
When Abrams announced the album, she wrote, “[yellow heart emoji] THE SECRET OF US[yellow heart emoji] the album that I made with some of my favorite people (!!!!!!!!!!) is yours JUNE 21 and the first single [yellow heart emoji]RISK[yellow heart emoji] comes out on MAY 1!
