Taylor Swift is in her lover girl era, thanks to her bubbling relationship with Travis Kelce. But, you wouldn’t get that since from her latest music.
Swift’s newest The Tortured Poets Department heartbreak anthem, “Fortnight,” is a clear example of this. Yesterday (July 8), Swift stuck the dagger in even deeper by releasing two new versions of the chart-topping track.
The first is a sultry acoustic rendition to comfortably fit into the gloomy nature of the body of work. With Swift’s The Eras Tour presently make its rounds around the globe, this arrangement is sure to debut on stage soon to appease every Swifties’ inner romantic.
Next, is a collaboration many supporters didn’t see coming. For the more uptempo remix, Swift enlisted indie-pop act Cults. The group took to their official Instagram to pen a touching note of appreciation to Swift.
“Honored to have been given the opportunity to remix legend @taylorswift song Fortnight,” they wrote.
When Swift initially rolled out the track’s official video, she had a few kind words of her own for Post Malone. “Post Malone blew me away on set as our tortured tragic hero,” she wrote. “I’m so grateful to him for everything he put into this collaboration.”

We write about whiskey (especially bourbon) fairly often. Like anyone, sometimes we get caught up in the hype and flash of popular or hard-to-find expressions. We feel like we just have to try them. It seems like everyone else is, why shouldn’t we? When this happens, sometimes we have to take a step back and think about some of the brands that don’t get enough praise but definitely deserve it. Sometimes these expression are much easier to find. We’re talking about the underrated gems either waiting to be discovered or simply given the respect they deserve.
What does underrated mean, exactly?
Well, it’s not that easy to define as it often depends on who you’re asking and whether or not they mean “underappreciated” instead. There are plenty of great, underappreciated whiskeys from massive brands like Beam or Jack Daniel’s — Beam’s Little Book, Jack’s Coy Hill Series, Jack Daniel’s Rye, Jim Beam Rye(!). But when it comes to “rating” those expressions, there are plenty of accolades heading their way. So they’re inherently not “underrated”… just maybe not on enough radars.
We asked eleven whiskey experts, distillers, and alcohol professionals to tell us the most underrated bourbons to drink right now. We’re talking about bourbons that are undervalued and underappreciated. You’ll be surprised by their picks. You’ll recognize some names, but others are lesser known and deserve much more acclaim than they currently receive.
Joseph Magnus Straight Bourbon
Joseph Magnus
Dr. Kenneth Maverick, founder of Maverick Whiskey in San Antonio, Texas
Joseph Magnus Straight Bourbon. Aged in oak barrels before being transferred to oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximénez sherry, and cognac casks, it’s unique, flavorful, and deserves more recognition.
It’s sweet, rich, and bold chocolate and approachable mellow oak. It might not be on your radar yet, but it absolutely should be.
Old Ezra 101 7 Year is a truly underrated bourbon. Another favorite that I rarely see talked about but always delivers. Rich copper and wood sugar, biscuity with a soft peppery finish.
I think people need to revisit Garrison and Balcones craft distilleries. There is a myth that these Texas whiskeys don’t taste as good, but I don’t believe that one bit. They’ve been perfecting their craft for 10 years now. I tasted a Garrison Single Barrel that was rich and chewy recently, and with lovely deep caramels.
Russell’s Reserve 10
Russell’s Reserve
Jeremy Kasler, CEO of CaskX, a bourbon cask investment firm, in Los Angeles
Hands down, the most underrated bourbon is Russell’s Reserve 10 Year. I hate to even put this in print for fear it’ll become harder to find, but I’ve been stocking up for some time, so we’re good. With a price point of around $35, this 10-year-old Wild Turkey-made bourbon is damn near perfect, with hints of baked cherry pie drizzled in caramel and dark chocolate.
Old Grand-Dad Bonded
Jim Beam
Brad Jennings, whiskey expert at North of Bourbon in Louisville, Kentucky
I’d say one of the most underrated bourbons is Old Grand-Dad Bottled and Bond. It has a nice cinnamon and baking spice flavor, it’s great. It’s surprisingly cheap, well-balanced, and a favorite of bartenders, drinkers, and pretty much every whiskey fan out there. Yet, it’s still underrated.
Balcones Texas Pot Still Bourbon
Balcones
Colin Keegan, founder of Santa Fe Spirits in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Balcones Texas Pot Still Bourbon at 92 proof. This unassuming label and bottle and price point are deceiving, as this is a nicely balanced bourbon, kettle corn and graham crackers on the nose, leather, sweetcorn, candied nuts, and caramel on the taste, and a soft finish with a light lingering spice.
Kings County Straight Bourbon. These guys make a grain-to-glass bourbon in Brooklyn and have been at it for 12 years or so. As a distiller, I really like that they use Forsyth stills from Scotland; you don’t see too many of them in the American craft distilling world. I visited King’s County right after they opened over a decade ago and it’s what made me want to start a distillery. Flavors that make it great: It has a lot of brown sugar and chocolate notes beyond the traditional bourbon flavor suspects.
I’d strongly suggest that everyone try at least one bourbon from Wilderness Trail. They make great whiskey. In particular, every wheated bourbon I’ve had from Wilderness Trail has been very interesting and a great pour. I suggest Wilderness Trail Small Batch Bottled in Bond Bourbon for its bold, caramel, vanilla, and rich oak flavors.
Almost any craft bourbon. Shopping and Supporting Local is important to me. Van Brunt Stillhouse Bourbon is definitely underrated. It’s my Local Favorite that I don’t make. What flavors make it great? The wheat in the four-grain mash bill makes for a really soft, long finish bourbon with a lovely oak and vanilla nose.
Formerly Hudson Baby Bourbon, now called Bright Lights, Big Bourbon is an underrated expression. Spicy, Sweet, simple, and easy to drink. It is young and vibrant and offers something different than other bourbons. Wood, vanilla, and yet still fairly ‘green’.
Old Grand-Dad 114
Jim Beam
Rebecca Running, CEO of Darco Spirits in Philadelphia
Old Grandad 114. This is a little hidden gem. At $32 per bottle, it is a steal. I love the dark fruit and spice, along with oaky notes that give it a depth and character that truly overdeliver for the price. It should be much more popular than it is.
(WARNING: Spoilers for the most recent All American: Homecoming episode will be found below.)
It took a while but All American: Homecoming is finally back as its third season kicked off earlier this week. The first episode “Ready Or Not” saw the Bringston baseball team win a championship all before the baseball program was shutdown by school administrators. As a result, Damon decided to go pro and join a baseball team in the Dominican Republic. This decision eventually pushed Damon and Simone to end their relationship as the distance and the responsibilities that the next chapter in their respective lives call for would be too much for them to handle while maintaining their relationship.
That and more went done in episode one, and here’s how many more episodes of drama you can expect in All American: Homecoming season three.
How Many Episodes Are In All American: Homecoming Season 3?
Season three of All American: Homecoming will have 13 episodes in total, which is two less than what viewers received in season two and the same amount released in its first season. New episodes of All American: Homecoming will initially premiere on Mondays on CW at 9pm ET/PT for the first two weeks before shifting up to 8pm ET/PT for the rest of the season. It should also be noted that this will be the last season of All American: Homecoming, as announced by Deadline last month.
New episodes of ‘All American: Homecoming’ are available on CW TV on Mondays at 9 pm ET/PT and on the CW app and website at 3 am ET/12 am PT.
Survey says, this is an episode you won’t want to miss. Continue below for more information on viewing instruction with and without cable.

“I cant wait until yall see this ,” she wrote. “I could not hold in my real reactions to these answers JULY 9th TEAM MEGAN IS ON @familyfeudabc.
The Boys celebrated the Fourth of July last week with Firecracker going low in an attempt to be Homelander’s most favored member of The Seven. Meanwhile, viewers grew very worried about the survival odds of another member of that Vought Supe group, so surely, followup will be welcome with this week’s episode.
When Does The Boys Season 4, Episode 7 Come Out?
“The Insider” will stream on Prime Video/Amazon beginning at 3:00am EST and 12:00am PST on Thursday, July 11. From there, the audience can look forward to season finale time and then a long wait for the fifth and final season of the Eric Kripke series based upon Garth Ennis’ comic book series.
However, Gen V is currently filming its second season and will be a nice way to break that waiting period in half. Additionally, the Diabolical spin off still has a lone animated season available for streaming, and The Boys: Mexico could eventually happen, too.
Here’s to hoping that Hughie has a better finish to the season than the past few episodes have dealt him. That poor guy has been stressed to the max since the opening moments of the debut episode, and sometime, somewhere, he deserves a nice bath to wash the blood away before a long nap.
Sydney Sweeney’s Anyone But You romcom with Glen Powell raked in significantly more money than Madame Web, the Sony movie starring Dakota Johnson talking about her mom researching spiders in the Amazon or something to that effect. In a smaller role, Sweeney portrayed a future Spider-Woman, and that box-office clunker will likely lead nowhere else in Sony’s Marvel plan, but the film did lay the ground for business relationships that Sweeney has parlayed into Sony’s remake of Barbarella.
The 1968 original movie, of course, starred Jane Fonda with massive hair and skimpy outfits in a campy-yet-sexy sci-fi story. Back in the day, Rose McGowan was once attached in a version that would have been directed by Robert Rodriguez, but those possibilities collapsed sometime shortly after Planet Terror and the rest of Grindhouse didn’t fare so well at the box office. Since we already know that Sydney can do sexy and silly at the same time, this remake is likely in the best hands possible. What else is planned for the movie?
Plot
Word broke in October 2022 of Sweeney securing the role (via Deadline), and although the film hadn’t yet secured writers or a director, the Immaculate star wasted little time in Instagramming her enthusiasm with a retro throwback image from the original: “time to save the universe.”
The original Paramount Pictures film based upon the French comic book by Jean-Claude Forest’s French comic and was set (according to a synopsis from yesteryear) on “the planet Lythion in the year 40,000, when Barbarella makes a forced landing while travelling through space. She acts like a female James Bond, vanquishing evil in the forms of robots and monsters.” Then things get spicier: “She also rewards, in an uninhibited manner, the handsome men who assist her in the adventure.”
Thus far, an updated synopsis hasn’t been released, but details began swirling about Edgar Wright being in negotiations to direct with Jane Goldman and Honey Ross potentially signing on to write the script.
Sweeney, for her part, recently told Josh Horowitz (on the Happy Sad Confused podcast) that the remake “is” still happening, and she loves how “she really just embraces her femininity and her sexuality, and I love that.” Care for more? “She uses sex as a weapon, and I think it’s just such an interesting way into a sci-fi world.” Yes, this will be a hit movie.
In summary, thank goodness that Madame Web existed because, as Sweeney told GQ UK, “Because I did that, I was able to sell Anyone But You. I was able to get Barbarella.”
Cast
Sweeney is the only cast member attached thus far, and that’s alright.
Release Date
That likely depends on when Wright and Sweeney get freed up. It surely won’t be the third Euphoria season that causes issues, yet Sweeney remains one of the most in-demand actresses in the business.
Trailer
No trailer exists yet, obviously, but it’s worth taking a look back at the promotional material for the 1968 movie. The wind machine is out of control, but to be fair, so is the lead character.
A handful of North American teams got the opportunity to participate in Copa America this summer. The tournament, which is usually made up of teams in South America’s footballing federation CONMEBOL, is taking place in the United States this year, but despite that, the USMNT did not make it out of their group. Nor did the other usual powerhouse of North American football, Mexico.
In a surprising turn of events, Canada was able to get out of a group that included Argentina, Chile, and Peru. They came in second place in Group A, got to the knockouts, and won their quarterfinal game against Venezuela in penalties. Now, on Tuesday night, the Canadians will take on Lionel Messi and Argentina with a spot in the final on the line, and in a show of national pride, Drake posted to his Instagram Story that he’s put $300,000 on them pulling off the upset.
Now, I certainly won’t say that this is a guaranteed loss (and I think this one would not classify as the Drake Curse rearing its ugly head), but Canada faces one heck of an uphill climb here. Not only are Argentina the defending winners of this tournament, and not only are they the defending World Cup winners, but the two teams were actually in the same group as one another and played in the opening game of the tournament, which Argentina won, 2-0.
Canada is an incredible story, as they’ve gotten to this point under American manager Jesse Marsch, and the fun quirk of this tournament is that things go right to penalties after regulation, so they wouldn’t need to hold on for dear life through 30 minutes of extra time if things are level after 90 minutes. That means pulling the upset is ever so slightly easier … but that wouldn’t mean much for Drake’s bet, as his bet is for Canada to win in regulation.
Celebrity marriages, they never last. But our love for Shrek does. Fourteen years after Shrek Forever After, DreamWorks Animation has announced that Shrek 5 is officially in development. The fifth film in the series — not including 2011’s Puss in Boots and 2022’s Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (the best film in the Shrek-verse since Shrek 2) — will feature the original voice cast of Mike Myers as Shrek, Cameron Diaz as Fiona, and Eddie Murphy as Donkey.
Murphy recently revealed that voice recording has already begun. “We started doing [Shrek 5] months ago,” the Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F star told Collider. “I did this. I recorded the first act, and we’ll be doing it this year, we’ll finish it up. Shrek is coming out and Donkey’s gonna have his own movie. We’re gonna do Donkey as well. So we’re gonna do a Shrek, and we’re doing a Donkey [movie].”
Still waiting on the Three Blind Mice spin-off.
Back in 2018, Illumination CEO (and Minions wrangler) Chris Meledandri, who is overseeing the revival, discussed his plan for future films. “When you look back on those vocal performances they’re awesome, and while you certainly could make a case for a complete reinvention, I find myself responding to my own nostalgic feelings of wanting to go back to those characterizations,” he said. “The challenge for us has been to find something that really does feel like it’s not simply yet another film in a series of sequels.”

With the NBA’s free agent market slowing down, the most likely way that we are going to see a high-profile move between now and the start of the 2024-25 season is via a trade. We got a glimpse of that over the weekend, when the Sacramento Kings pulled off a sign-and-trade to acquire DeMar DeRozan from the Chicago Bulls.
Over the last few days, we’ve identified a few potential targets for these sorts of trades and tried to cook up deals that make sense in the event that they find themselves on the move. And here, we wanted to put them all together and list out the teams and players that we have our eyes on as the summer goes on.
Zach LaVine

There may not be a weirder player on the trade market than LaVine, who is very good at basketball and can bring some instant offense to any team that wants him, but his injury history and gigantic contract have essentially destroyed any sort of trade market for him, per reports. Still, there are teams that can (and should) take the plunge, because they could really use what he brings to the table, and by all accounts, the Bulls are willing to respond to the market by selling low on him.
Markkanen makes less money than you think, but any team that trades for him is going to need to have a serious conversation about paying him, as he’s an unrestricted free agent after this season. He is, however, 100 percent worth the investment, as the All-Star forward can light it up from all over the place and is a very good rebounder. Even if he is just a rental for a team with aspirations of winning a championship right now, he’s worth the high asking price that Danny Ainge and the Jazz front office would surely demand.
Trades:
(ed. note: The Kings were part of the original post, but have since made a move that takes them off of the list)
Golden State Warriors
Warriors: Lauri Markkanen Jazz get: Andrew Wiggins, Brandin Podziemski, unprotected first-round picks in 2025 and 2027, first-round pick swaps in 2029 and 2031
San Antonio Spurs
Spurs get: Lauri Markkanen Jazz get: Keldon Johnson, San Antonio’s 2027 and 2029 first-round picks, Chicago’s top-10 protected 2025 first-round pick, Boston’s 2029 first-round pick, Minnesota’s 2031 first-round pick
Oklahoma City Thunder
Thunder get: Lauri Markkanen Jazz get: Lu Dort, Jaylin Williams, Oklahoma City’s 2025 and 2027 first-round picks, Denver’s top-5 protected 2027 first-round pick, Dallas’ 2028 first-round pick, any three second-round picks Oklahoma City currently has
No one questions Ingram’s ability to score the basketball, and over the years, he’s expanded his game to become better as a facilitator, as well. Ingram’s stock, however, is rather low, as he’s set to be an unrestricted free agent after this upcoming season, he’s coming off of a brutal playoff run where he was frequently punked by Lu Dort of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and it’s clear that the Pelicans want to build around Zion Williamson, as the experiment with building around both of them just has not worked. Having said that, Ingram is still a good player who can help teams win basketball games, the question is who wants to pay him what he’s asking for next summer.
Trades:
(ed. note: The Kings were, once again, part of the original post, but are no longer a team that makes sense for Ingram — however, we added a third team below that was not in the initial post)
There was some initial sticker shock at the 5-year, $160 million deal Grant signed last offseason. But it becomes a smaller portion of a team’s cap percentage every year and he’s guaranteed to be under contract for at least the next three years (he has a player option for 2027-28), so there’s a real case to be made that he’d be a savvy addition for a team that could use a big wing who can score and defend.
Trades
Los Angeles Lakers
Lakers get: Jerami Grant Blazers get: Rui Hachimura, Jarred Vanderbilt, Cam Reddish, 2029 Lakers first, 2025 Clippers second
Golden State Warriors
Warriors get: Jerami Grant Blazers get: Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody, 2026 Warriors first
Houston Rockets
Rockets get: Jerami Grant Blazers get: Jabari Smith Jr. Pistons get: Jeff Green, Jock Landale, a pair of future second rounders
