Days after an outburst in the Cavaliers’ locker room that led reporters to indicate his time in Cleveland was up, Kevin Porter Jr. is now on his way to Houston, according to reporting from Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Rockets will reportedly give up a future protected second-round pick in the deal to acquire Porter, who has dealt with off-court problems dating all the way back to his one-and-done season at USC and as recently as November, when he was charged with improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle after a car crash outside Cleveland — all charges were later dropped after a grand jury declined to indict him on the gun charges.

The issue came to a head when Porter, who had been given permission to spend time away from the Cavaliers while he got his situation in order, lost his temper when new acquisition Taurean Prince was given locker space where Porter’s had been. According to reports, Porter got into a yelling match with general manager Koby Altman and threw food.

The second-round pick the Rockets give up in the deal could ultimately amount to nothing, as NBA teams often trade conditional picks to satisfy league rules that do not actually transfer to the receiving team. Houston will reportedly waive Chris Clemons to free up the roster spot for Porter.

For Houston, it’s a chance at a tremendously talented young player who put together a promising rookie season in 2019-20 but hasn’t been able to quite shake free of off-court issues. On a young, rebuilding team in the aftermath of the James Harden trade, Porter should have an opportunity to contribute and get a fresh start, which might be exactly what he needs to fulfill his exceptional promise as a player.

DaniLeigh found herself in some controversy on Wednesday after she posted a snippet to her unreleased “Yellow Bone” track to Instagram, one she said was dedicated to her “light skin baddies.” The song was not received well by listeners as she was hit with a heavy dose of criticism, which she responded to by asking, “Why y’all think I’m hating on other colors when there are millions of songs speaking on all types?”

DaniLeigh would eventually delete the Instagram post and soon after, she took to Twitter to defend herself and her actions.

“Congratulations y’all gotta another thing to say about me when u hate …it’s all good .. only God can ‘cancel’ me… that sh*t don’t mean sh*t to me bc the people around me are the ones that know my heart and intention and real life … I’m sorry if I offended u,” she said in one tweet. Elsewhere she called critics of the song “haters” adding, “I’m Dominican…I’m Spanish, I’m Black, I’m white, leave me alone.”

After catching wind of her comments, Chika quoted one of DaniLeigh’s tweets and condemned her response to the criticism.

“This is a terrible response to valid criticism,” Chika said in one tweet. “No shade. as a black woman, you should be more than aware of colorism & why this song wouldn’t sit well with a black audience.” She added, “It doesn’t feel good having a billion people at your neck, but it’s not about being ‘canceled.’ it’s about taking accountability.”

Sony’s PlayStation 5 games reveal showed off a look at the next game in the Resident Evil series, and now we know that Resident Evil 8 will officially be called Resident Evil Village. With that news came a story trailer for the game and a release date: May 7.

Ethan Winters is back, searching for his missing daughter in a new location sure to frighten you just as much as all the others. The trailer is as creepy as ever, featuring crucified people, flashlight-lit gun strafing and plenty of attacking ghouls.

“This place is full of nothing but blood and death,” a voice says, which sets a fairly predictable tone for what’s to come. Including images like this.

And according to an IGN report, the PS5 demo isn’t merely a slice of what will be the final game, but a unique experience that only PlayStation 5-havers will get to experience.

Instead of playing as Resident Evil 7 and Village protagonist Ethan Winters, players will take control of a character called the “Maiden.” Fabiano says the demo doesn’t have combat, but like Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour, the events of the demo will likely tie into the events of Resident Evil Village in some way.

The good news for those that haven’t bought (or found) Sony’s next-gen console just yet is that Capcom said a different demo will also hit other consoles later in the spring. Which means we’ll see at least one other piece of the puzzle before Resident Evil 8 is finally released.

Ghostbusters fans got some good news and bad news on Thursday, but at least the good news (kind of) gave us some memes. Variety reported Thursday that the release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife was delayed, part of a fresh slew of delays in Hollywood thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

That includes the James Bond film No Time To Die, which saw yet another delay to October of 2021 after being one of the first major films to get pushed back due to coronavirus last spring. But Ghostbusters: Afterlife, along with the other movies like a Cinderella retelling and an Uncharted film based on the video game franchise.

Sony has shifted release dates for numerous titles, including “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” Camila Cabello’s “Cinderella” and “Uncharted” with Tom Holland.

“Cinderella” will release in theaters on July 16 instead of Feb. 5. That delay bumps the video game adaptation “Uncharted,” which was originally set for mid-July, to Feb. 11, 2022. Meanwhile, “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” has moved back two months from April 2 to June 11. In turn, the “Ghostbusters” sequel was delayed to Nov. 11.

That’s the bad news, but we did apparently get a look at one of the new ghosts from Afterlife. A video from the Spanish version of MasterChef Junior seems to have revealed a new ghost from Afterlife, a very soggy-looking fella who apparently goes by the name Muncher.

The character pops up at the 38 second mark of the video, if you need to see it in person. But while the character will almost certainly be the center of lots of promotional foodstuffs in the coming months, the initial look at muncher almost immediately became a meme. It was no Bernie Sanders sitting outside in the cold, but it certainly drew some laughs from people making fun of Muncher’s droopy appearance.

Mostly because people were kind of horrified by its appearance in general.

After going almost all of 2020 without a project, Rubi Rose came through for fans on Christmas Day with the release of her For The Streets mixtape. The eight-track project flaunted plenty of promise for the Atlanta-bred rapper. Looking to extend the life of the tape, she returns with a new video for “The Truth.”

The visual, which is directed by Legit Looks, begins with Rubi rapping in the booth during a studio session. Things are going well until her producer informs her that her sleeping partner’s phone has been ringing nonstop for the past few minutes. Rubi then takes a look to see who’s calling and immediately wakes him up, signaling that the man is guilty of some form of infidelity.

The rest of the video sees the couple head back to their home, where Rubi expresses her disappointment and her simple desire for her man to be truthful and loyal to her. The visual is the second one she’s delivered from the For The Streets project following her extravagant video for “He In His Feelings.” The project also boasts a confident co-sign from Cardi B and guest appearances from Future and Partynextdoor, who both appear on “Whole Lotta Liquor.”

Daniel Craig’s final turn as James Bond will not hit theaters, or streaming screens, until the fall. No Time To Die was delayed yet again on Thursday, moving the picture further into the 2021 calendar and hopefully to a time where people feel safe enough to actually head back to the movie theater as the coronavirus pandemic is under better control.

We know plenty about No Time To Tie, including some of the music we’ll get when it actually is released. But that release date has shifted a number of times amid the coronavirus pandemic. And the Hollywood Reporter wrote Thursday that the oft-delayed Bond movie is getting one (hopefully) last push to October 2021.

James Bond pic No Time To Die is once again pushing back its release amid the ongoing pandemic and widespread theater closures in many major markets across the globe.

It was set to open April 2. Now, it is planning to hit the big screen Oct. 8 as Hollywood faces more delays before moviegoing resumes in earnest. No Time to Die is likely to spark another wave of high-profile moves among spring and early summer movies.

No Time To Die was one of the first major movies to get a delayed release as the pandemic took hold of the world. Craig had even done his SNL hosting gig days before the world shut down in anticipation of hyping the April 2020 release that never came. Neither did its anticipated release in November of 2020, and now its third COVID-pushed release date of April 2021 will come and go without a Bond movie.

With all these delays, it’s hard not to think again of the report that the Bond movie nearly went straight to streaming before executives decided against the move. While the Bond flick pushing further into 2021 will likely shuffle other movies around, at least we are still likely to see a solid stream of titles on HBO Max.

At some point over the last six months, you’ve probably seen a video or two of a young producer mixing a pair of records together on Twitter. That individual would be Amorphous, who gained fame on the social media app thanks to a large collection of his ear-pleasing mashups. His rise to fame has been amazing to watch, and now there’s a new chapter to add to his story: Amorphous recently landed a huge placement with Fat Joe and DJ Khaled on their new single, “Sunshine (The Light).”

The new track is carried by a summery sample of Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better” and Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much,” a mashup Amorphous first shared a rough cut of back in November. Almost two months later, Fat Joe adds a pair of confident verses to the production to create his new single, and with it comes with a video that features Diddy and Andre “Dre” Christopher Lyon from the famed production duo Cool & Dre, who also helped create the beat.

In the video, Khaled, Diddy, and Dre find themselves on a boat with Fat Joe celebrating the “unbelievable” life that the Bronx rapper has lived. Afterward, Joey Crack flaunts his silk button-ups to hit viewers with a pair of verses filled with confidence and an untouchable spirit.

The track was officially announced on Wednesday when Amorphous took to Twitter to celebrate the sample clearance he received from both Luther Vandross and Rihanna’s camp. Hours later, DJ D-Nice premiered the song during an Instagram Live session. Aside from the Fat Joe placement, Amorphous has also worked with Nineteen85 and Azaelia Banks.

The word “influencer” has changed its very definition in recent years, and these days it’s an actual job title. But a new HBO documentary aims to see if being famous online is a replicable phenomena. On Thursday, HBO dropped the trailer for Fake Famous, a documentary premiering in February that will see recruited “celebrities” massaged into viral online fame.

“Is that number of followers you have actual fame,” the voiceover asks. “We wanted to do an experiment to see if we could take some random people and make them fake famous.”

The appears to introduce three main characters in the experiment, and showcases a bit of what each will do along the way to obtain a lot of followers, whether real, fake or somewhere in between. The trailer tries to set up both the good and bad that can come from online notoriety: one woman gets a bunch of free stuff from companies just because she has a lot of followers. But another doesn’t seem so thrilled to pretend he’s something he’s not.

“You want to be famous for being you?” a man asks the fake influencer, incredulously.

With all the product placement and highly-manufactured beauty and perfection found among influencers online, peeling back the surface a bit to see the mess behind it all is likely an important lesson for many. And it could prove that internet celebrity is possible to replicate, or perhaps that it takes a certain kind of person to thrive as an influencer.

We’ll see what HBO has uncovered when the documentary premieres on February 2 and 9 p.m.

After a smorgasbord of NFL action the last two weeks, die-hard football observers must savor the rest of the season. In fact, only three NFL games remain, with the AFC and NFC Championship games arriving this Sunday and the Super Bowl looming just two weeks from now. As such, the vast majority of the damage is done when it comes to season-long NFL handicapping. Still, there is still opportunity out there and, in this space, the close to the season has been quite positive, including a 4-1 performance in the Divisional Round.

Before we get into this week’s abbreviated card for a two-game slate, let’s check in on the full-year progress.

Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers UNDER 24.5 points in the first half

You’ll need to shop this number around, but there are some 24.5’s left in the market and that is a crucial half-point. At any rate, you will see that this is a (very) light card because, well, these lines are pretty much in the right place. That isn’t too much of a shock for championship weekend, but I do like the first half under in this spot. I’d lean there for the full game as well, but there is the prospect of a passing explosion after halftime. Tampa Bay runs the ball more often than they should, and the Bucs may have a few wrinkles to mess with Aaron Rodgers. Maybe it’ll last until the break.

Kansas City Chiefs (-3) over Buffalo Bills

If you moved quickly on Sunday and snagged the Chiefs at pick’em (or even plus money), congratulations to you. On the flip side, one absence from Patrick Mahomes pretty much renders this -3 meaningless. That is the trade-off here and, in truth, there is some risk. All signs point to Mahomes as a likely participant and, by grabbing this number mid-week, there is the benefit to potentially beating a closing number that could grow to 3.5 or 4. Kansas City’s home-field advantage isn’t the same that it would be under normal circumstances, but it’s something, and the Chiefs being only a field goal favorite in their own building is an auto-fire in a lot of ways. It is oddly comforting that a lot of the public seems to be jumping on the Bills. Lay it.

Marjorie Taylor Greene hasn’t had the best week, as Joe Biden’s inauguration was a major blow to the QAnon conspiracy that were sure Donald Trump would never allow the Democratic nominee to become president despite winning the 2020 election. Many believers of the wacky conspiracy that began as LARPing on an image board have had to reexamine their worldview in the wake of a very normal swearing in, one that didn’t include a “storm” that saw cannibalistic satanists rounded up by Trump. But Greene apparently has been unmoved by the failures of QAnon and, instead, made good on another pie in the sky promise on Thursday.

Greene announced on Twitter that she had moved to impeach Joe Biden in his first full day in office. The video that announced it was brief and, oddly enough, came with the same cadence Johnny Knoxville and others would give their introductions on Jackass.

The “we’ll see how this goes” is likely a reference to the absolute certainty that Biden will not be impeached, but the statement Greene put out explaining why Biden should be is perhaps worth understanding.

None of the things mentioned in the letter have anything to do with the executive actions he’s taken to battle coronavirus or undo Trump’s immigration or climate change measures while in office. Rather, it’s all related to various conspiracies about Hunter Biden, Russia and other events during the Obama presidency that have become Republican fodder during primary season and during the general election. Perhaps ironically, it was the incessant chatter about Biden’s son and the Ukraine that instead got Trump impeached, for the first time at least.

The video and her statement certainly generated a lot of talk on social media. But much of it focused on a report from Media Matters about Greene’s past comments about the Sandy Hook school shooting, which some have spiraled into a conspiracy theory of its own. According to the report, you can count Greene among those who think that it was a hoax, a line of reasoning that got Alex Jones sued by the parents of the shooting’s victims.

In a newly uncovered exchange, Marjorie Taylor Greene in 2018 agreed with a Facebook commenter who claimed that 9/11 “was done by our own gov[ernment]” and that “none of the school shootings were real or done by the ones who were supposedly arrested for them,” including the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, and the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

That news caused Sandy Hook to trend on Twitter once again, and many people critical of Greene online reminded people the conspiracy-filled congresswoman may not be the most reliable source when it comes to reality.

This doesn’t seem like something that fact-checking can fix, either.

Some even called for her to resign from office.

That seems unlikely, but just like her temporary ban from Twitter it seems Greene is almost intentionally trying to say inflammatory things in order to get attention. A doomed measure to impeach Joe Biden certainly qualifies for theater over substance, but when you look at what Greene actually believes in it’s easy to be alarmed.
