Jake Paul Is Now Making A Music Video About The FBI Raiding His House

YouTube star Jake Paul recently made headlines again when the FBI raided his home in Calabasas, seizing a gun and other weapons shortly after Paul was charged with criminal trespassing during a Black Lives Matter protest in Scottsdale, Arizona. No stranger to courting controversy — see, well, anything he’s ever done — the YouTube star has now put out a casting call for actors to play FBI officers in a music video based on the raid, according to TMZ.

Among the roles he’s looking to fill: an FBI agent, members of the paparazzi, and “hot women.” Disturbingly, the paparazzi role calls specifically for Southeast Asian or Pacific Islander ethnicities in addition to White/Caucasian people, while the FBI role is open to “all ethnicities.” The shoot is reportedly scheduled for this Saturday, presumably at Paul’s house, despite the mansion being the focal point of criticism against him due to hosting a packed party there complete with amateur boxing matches taking place with no social distancing safety protocols in place.

The YouTuber was also connected to another investigation in Las Vegas, this one into another star of the video platform, Arman Izadi. Now is probably not the best time for him to be making light of his situation, but if he made good decisions, he probably wouldn’t be as famous as he is.

Migos Get Hyped In Their ‘Need It’ Video With NBA Youngboy

Migos have been building anticipation for their upcoming album for some time now. The trio has shared three singles off their impending record, which they recently revealed may not actually be titled Culture III. Following this year’s tracks “Racks 2 Skinny” and “Taco Tuesday,” Migos teamed up with NBA Youngboy for the strong effort “Need It.” Now, Migos and NBA Youngboy return with an energetic visual accompanying the single.

It’s clear the group had a good time shooting the visual. Each scene is more energetic than the last and Quavo gets silly with an unconventional hairstyle. Saweetie even makes a cameo in the visual after she and Quavo recently celebrated their two-year anniversary together.

Ahead of the single’s release, Migos have been making headlines. The trio recently sued their lawyer for malpractice, claiming they were “cheated out of millions of dollars.” The group filed a complaint against Damien Granderson saying he “abused his position of trust as Migos’ fiduciary from the moment he was retained as Migos’ lawyer.” According to the lawsuit, Granderson’s conflict of interest lies in the fact he also represents the artist’s label, Quality Control, and reportedly favored the label’s interests over Migos’.

Three Takeaways From Miami’s Game Two Win Over The Pacers

The Miami Heat jumped out to a 2-0 lead in their first round series on Thursday by taking down the Pacers, 109-100. But more importantly, the Heat again looked like the well-oiled machine they’ve developed into since the NBA hiatus back in March.

Led by Jimmy Butler’s 24 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, along with an outrageously hot shooting night by the Heat as a whole, Miami is playing like a team that knows exactly what it is, a statement few NBA teams can make right now.

Here are the three biggest takeaways from Miami’s big win.

Miami looks more cohesive than any team in the playoffs

As stated above, the Heat look like a team firing on all cylinders. The rest of the NBA is forgiven for struggling to find chemistry during this bizarre Bubble playoff schedule, but it doesn’t seem to be bothering Miami at all. That’s a testament to the Heat’s leadership from Butler and head coach Erik Spoelstra as well as a group that just fills its role perfectly.

They’re not just knocking down shots and winning, they seem to be more willing to give that little extra than anyone else in the league right now.

That has translated to a beautiful offensive performance through two playoff games, maximizing a four-out style with smooth, smart passing and off-ball movement.

And look, they have fun, too!

Last year, we saw Toronto make a deep run by playing better than the sum of its parts, buoyed by a smart roster and a superstar that keeps everything flowing. That’s what Miami looks like right now.

There’s not a lot you can do against Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro

What to say about these two? They have as much to do with Miami’s Bubble performance as anyone, with Herro becoming a real fixture in the rotation during Kendrick Nunn’s absence while Robinson has become an even bigger part of Miami’s offense.

Against Indiana on Thursday, the two combined for 39 points on 10-for-16 shooting from deep. Robinson in particular spaces so far behind the three-point line and has such a quick trigger that it’s impossible to help in any way from the weak side when he’s spacing the floor.

Not only does Miami have these two deadeyes on its roster, but Spoelstra deploys them perfectly both on and off the ball and empowers them to take shots anywhere if they’re open and in rhythm. The Heat figured themselves out this summer, and Robinson and Herro made it happen.

Indiana won’t win without a healthy Victor Oladipo

It continues to be disappointing to watch Oladipo play. The story surrounding his impressive recovery from a ruptured quad in time to join his team on the court in the Bubble led to excitement that Oladipo might make the Pacers a scary team in the playoffs, but it’s been the opposite so far.

Oladipo looks uncomfortable, missing routine open jumpers and lacking his usual athleticism, while the rest of the offense isn’t making it any easier on him. Oladipo shot 5-for-14 from the field in this one and has been very reliant on threes rather than the driving game that made him an All-Star. Combine that with six turnovers, and it’s clear Oladipo isn’t ready to make up for the absence of Domantas Sabonis and make this a real series for the Heat.

Without a return to form for Oladipo, the Pacers will be lucky to push this past a gentleman’s sweep based on how they’ve played through two games on offense.

The Voice Of Lisa Simpson Is Getting Really Tired Of Mike Pompeo Using A GIF Of Her Character

The first “classic” season of The Simpsons (season three) begins with “Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington,” in which, after writing an award-nominated essay entitled “What Makes America Great,” Lisa learns that America is, in fact, not great. (The season premiere is technically “Stark Raving Dad,” but Disney+ would rather you “just don’t look” at the Michael Jackson-starring episode.) Lisa’s moment of heartbreak occurs in the Winifred Beecher Howe memorial, where she overhears a congressman accept a bribe from a lobbyist to destroy Springfield National Forest. She rips up her essay and quickly writes a new one: “Cesspool on the Potomac.” That moment of lost innocence was turned into a popular GIF, which Donald Trump’s Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted during House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s speech at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night.

It’s actually the second time Pompeo has used the GIF in reference to Pelosi, and both times, Yeardley Smith, who voices Lisa, had something to say about it.

Back in February, she tweeted, “I might just add f*ck you @mikepompeo for co-opting my character to troll @SpeakerPelosi. Be a leader and fight your own fight! Oh, wait I forgot, you’re a follower.” This time, she wrote, “Again with this #lisasimpson GiF? Are you OK? Is this a coded cry for help? Or just your way of trolling @realDonaldTrump for decimating our standing in the world and now you’re hoping history will be kinder to you? #FatChance.” This is the more appropriate Lisa GIF for Pompeo, anyway.

Twitter truly is a cesspool! cesspool! cesspool!

100 Gecs Share A Wild Visual For Their Fall Out Boy-Featuring ‘Hand Crushed A Mallet (Remix)’

Not much about 100 Gecs could be classified as “typical,” and that’s part of the reason they stand out. There’s more to it than that, though, because there are a lot of oddballs who have a shtick and no substance behind it. That’s not 100 Gecs, though, as there’s an undeniable appeal to whatever it is they’re doing. They recruited some people who like what they’re up to for their remix album, 1000 Gecs And The Tree Of Clues, and perhaps the least expected name to see on the tracklist was Fall Out Boy, who feature on the remix of “Hand Crushed By A Mallet,” as do Craig Owens and Nicole Dollanganger.

Now the duo has shared a video for the remix and, as should be no surprise, it’s strange. The psychedelic and visually busy video features some sort of chain-wearing mushroom goblin chases a key-holding rat through a house and beyond.

Aside from the aforementioned guests, also appearing on the remix album are Charli XCX, Kero Kero Bonito, Rico Nasty (all on the “Ringtone” remix), and others.

Watch the “Hand Crushed By A Mallet (Remix)” video above.

Skyxxx’s Chilly ‘Madhouse’ Performance For ‘UPROXX Sessions’ Shows Off His Polished Flow

If there was an UPROXX Sessions award for “best prop,” our latest featured artist Skyxxx would certainly take home the prize. While prior performers like Horse Head and Dana Dentata brought their own eye-catching add-ons to their perfomances — a guitar with a rainbow strap and a shovel-“corpse” combo, respectively — Skyxxx (pronounced “Sky”) brings something a lot more endearing: His husky puppy, which he says “don’t talk to b*tch ass n****s.”

He then rips through a 90-second performance of the ping-pong flow on his new single “Madhouse,” a sparsely-produced, descriptive tableau of “a very scary place.”

Skyxxx, who hails from Orlando, Florida, first saw his profile jump late last year with the success of his “Hotboy Remix” with NLE Choppa. He was set to quickly follow up with the Madhouse EP, but COVID-19 struck and it was delayed until this Friday, August 21. It’ll feature fellow Sessions alum Guapdad 4000.

Watch Skyxxx perform “Madhouse” above.

UPROXX Sessions is Uproxx’s new performance show featuring the hottest up-and-coming acts you should keep an eye on. Featuring creative direction from LA promotion collective, Ham On Everything, and taking place on our “bathroom” set designed and painted by Julian Gross, UPROXX Sessions is a showcase of some of our favorite performers, who just might soon be yours, too..

Ben Affleck Will Return As Batman In A Timeline-Warping ‘The Flash’ Movie

Robert Pattinson is the latest actor to play Batman, but it appears the brooding role has lured Ben Affleck back for at least one more go. Despite a lot of fanfare about his departure from the suit, a report on Thursday indicated that Affleck will return as Batman in a movie where someone else is the feature.

According to Vanity Fair, Affleck will return to the rubber suit in The Flash, an Ezra Miller-led DC Universe movie expected to hit theaters in 2022.

“He’s a very substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie. The interaction and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before,” the director added. “It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that’s one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That’s where the Affleck Batman kicks in.”

Interestingly, Affleck’s Batman is just one of several who will reportedly appear in the film, including Michael Keaton’s Batman from the 90s film series. The Flash will apparently feature a number of different timelines from the Batman story, which is certainly one way to get a bunch of Batmen in a movie together.

Affleck won’t be the only Batman making a comeback; a few more of the alternate-dimension heroes who turn up in the Flash movie will be figures we’ve seen before. Michael Keaton’s Batman from the 1989 Tim Burton film is also set to appear in what Muschietti said was a “substantial” part.

It’s initially unclear what other “alternate-dimension heroes” will appear, but it seems this DC Universe movie is set to toy with the canon considerably come 2022.

Hawaii Just Extended Its Lockdown And Will Remain Closed To Tourists Until At Least October

We seriously feel for the folks who made travel plans to visit Hawaii prior to our country falling headfirst into a global pandemic. But if you’ve been holding on to hope that you’d be able to resume those travel plans as soon as the state’s mandatory 14-day quarantine requirement for island arrivals expired at the start of next month, we’ve got some bad news for you. Hawaii Governor David Ige has officially announced that the state is pushing back all trans-pacific travel to the islands for another month, until at least October 1st, due to a recent surge of cases in the state.

“We cannot deny that Hawaii is seeing a surge in positive COVID-19 cases,” Ige said in a press conference announcing the extension, “There are numerous clusters and community spread.” According to Travel + Leisure, over the course of August Hawaii added an additional 3,000 coronavirus cases throughout the state — which is more than what the state had counted between March and July — with most of the cases coming from Honolulu county, bringing the total as of August 20th. 2020 to 5,586.

As a result of the explosion of cases, many bars, beaches, parks, and trails across the islands will remain closed to the public and stricter measures on indoor and outdoor gatherings are being implemented, including reducing the size of gatherings to no more than five at museums, movie theaters, and even while engaging in outdoor activities like boating. CNN reports that Governor Ige has indicated that he’s in active dialogue with the mayors of Hawaii every day on how to best bring travelers back to the island as safely and quickly as possible, but as of now, there is still no concrete plan on how the state will begin to open its shores to travelers again.

Given the uncertainty of the virus, it’s pretty safe to say that if you have plans to fly to Hawaii in 2020 or early 2021, you’re probably better off postponing those as long as possible.

Henry Cavill Is Not Afraid To Show An Unflattering Photo Of Himself On ‘The Witcher’ Set

Like Geralt of Rivia crawling out of a muddy bog to fight another day, Netflix’s The Witcher has resumed its season two production after a series of setbacks courtesy of the ongoing pandemic, and Henry Cavill is celebrating being back on set with a shout-out to his hair and make-up team. In a humorously candid and unflattering photo posted to Instagram, Cavill can be seen sitting in a make-up chair while a layer of medical tape is pulled from his head to make way for his luxurious white wig.

“No bald cap this year. Just pounds of 2 types of medical tape and some glue,” Cavill wrote in the caption. “Removal is a joy. Jacqui and Ailbhe here, though, have the deft touch of angels. Jacqui more so an Angel of Vengeance, but that’s all part of her charm.”

You can see the photo below:

Like most film and TV productions, season two of The Witcher was shut down in March as the pandemic went global. However, the hit Netflix series had a very close call after actor Kristofer Hijvu texted positive for COVID-19 after being on set. Fortunately, Hijvu and his wife made a full recovery, and there were no reports of other cast and crew members being infected. But the incident was enough to halt production on season two even though the show was filming in remote, outdoor locations outside of London.

After working out the logistics of filming with the threat of COVID still hanging in the air, The Witcher resumed filming in early July, which raises questions around just how long fans will have to wait for the next season to premiere on Netflix. Not to mention, Cavill returning to the set has deprived the world of his thirsty computer building videos and nerdy obsession with meticulously painting roleplaying game miniatures. You win some, you lose some.

Hanging bats filmed upside-down look like they’re all partying in a Goth night club

Bats have gotten a really bad rap after the whole COVID-19 thing. But a video that’s going viral on Reddit shows when you look at them from the way they see the world, they’re actually pretty hip.

In the video shot by Das Kraftfuttermischwerk, a group of bats appear to awkwardly gyrate to music while strutting their stuff on a lighted floor. The jittery sway the bats have appears to mimic the vampiric dance moves you’d see at a Goth club.

Yes, Goths dance, they just do it a lot creepier than everyone else.

Things get a little scary the moment you notice that one of the bats is foaming at the mouth and another is flexing at the camera like somebody’s ’bout to get their blood sucked. The buckets hanging in the video look a lot like fancy club lamps when they’re seen upside-down.

The video is set to the eerie sounds of Russian Goth group Molchat Doma and their song “Ship (Boris Rizhiy).”
