On Saturday night, Offset jumped on Instagram Live to show his fans the situation he was in, one that involved being confronted by police officers by Beverley Hills. As seen in the livestream video, officers ask Offset to step out of the vehicle and the Migos rapper replied, “I’m not doing that, I’m not doing that. Because you’ve got guns out.”
After officers insisted that he step out of the vehicle, Offset refused to do so once again and said, “I’m not going to move my hands from my steering wheel.” The officers then reveal why they wanted the rapper to step out of the vehicle as a female officer said, “We were told that you guys were waving guns.”
After a back and forth conversation between Offset and the two officers, the rapper had his door opened and he was pulled from the vehicle. “You can’t just open my door. It’s illegal. I’m going to sue the sh*t out of y’all,” Offset said as he was removed from the car.
Following the incident, Beverley Hills Police later revealed that Offset was not arrested, but rather a second passenger in the vehicle. Marcelo Almánzar, which TMZ reports is Cardi B’s cousin, was arrested on weapons charges and for carrying a loaded firearm in public. “
At approximately 5:02 p.m., Beverly Hills Police received information from a passerby of a subject who pointed a weapon from a vehicle at him; in the area of South Santa Monica Blvd and N. Beverly Drive,” Beverley Hills Police said in a statement. “The passerby provided a license plate to the vehicle, and the vehicle was stopped by patrol units a short distance away. After the on-scene investigation, the passenger in the vehicle was arrested.”
The Battle of Ohio got off to a sloppy start on Sunday, as often happens when the Bengals and Browns meet on the football field, as both quarterbacks tossed interceptions on their opening drive. Joe Burrow was tipped and picked in the end zone — with the Browns somewhat inexplicably running the ball out of the end zone and, as such, losing 16 yards of field position from a touchback — but Baker Mayfield quickly answered with one of his own on his first pass of the game.
Mayfield was looking for a big play down the field to Odell Beckham Jr., but his pass fluttered a bit short and was picked off by Darius Phillips, who returned the pass well into Browns territory. Beckham chased Phillips down trying to make a tackle on the return, but made an awkward tackle attempt, leaping into one of his own teammates and appearing to injure his right leg.
Trainers came out to tend to Beckham — and offensive lineman J.C. Tretter — ultimately taking the superstar receiver to the locker room where he remained for the Browns second drive.

Most fans of Ariana Grande thought they would have to wait another year or two to receive the pop singer’s sixth album. In the last month, however, she began teasing new songs and gave hope to her fans that the upcoming project would arrive sooner than later. Earlier this month, Ariana hopped on Twitter with exciting news as she confirmed her sixth album would touch down by the end of October. “i can’t wait to give u my album this month,” she said in a tweet. Fresh off delivering the album’s lead single and title track, Ariana returned to unveil the tracklist for Positions.
On October 30, Ariana will deliver her Positions album with 14 songs and guest appearances from The Weeknd, Ty Dolla Sign, and Doja Cat. After sharing the tracklist on Twitter, Ariana sent out another tweet about the upcoming project, one she calls her “favorite for many reasons.” “i don’t have a top three or anything ! everything goes hand in hand,” she said in the tweet. “this project is my favorite for many reasons and i really can’t wait for it to be yours. thank u for your love and excitement, it means the world to me.”

While it will be her first time working with Ty Dolla Sign, her track with The Weeknd, entitled “Off The Table,” will be the duo’s second collaboration together following their 2013 effort, “Love Me Harder,” which appeared on Ariana’s sophomore album, My Everything. As for her Doja Cat collaboration, Ariana spoke about Doja and the song back in May during an interview with Zane Lowe on his Apple Music Beats 1 show.
“I love her. I was able to work with her earlier this year on this song that I want to save for whenever it’s time again, to drop,” Ariana said. “But I love her so much. I love her personality. I love what she brings to the table musically. She’s just such a breath of fresh air. I think she’s brilliant and so talented.”

HER already has a number of impressive accolades in her short career. The Cali-based singer has two Grammy awards to her name as well as awards from the MTV VMAs and the Soul Train Awards, and on Saturday added an SNL performance to that ever-growing list. HER took the stage on the late-night show and graced viewers with silky smooth performances of a pair of her 2020 singles, “Damage” and her newest release, “Hold On.”
The “Focus” singer began her night by performing “Damage.” The performance found her recreating the music video that was paired with the song which she released earlier in the week. Later on in the night, she debuted her new single “Hold On” and made sure to bring her trusty electric guitar along with her to deliver the latter half of her impressive performances.
Her appearance comes ahead of what fans can expect to be her full-length debut album. Her 2017 and 2019 albums, HER and I Used To Know HER respectively, were both comprised of previously released EPs. HER’s SNL appearance comes after the singer became the first Black female artist to receive a Stratocaster guitar thanks to her and Fender’s new partnership.
The first 16 episodes of the tenth season of The Walking Dead are in the books now. Alpha, Beta, and The Whisperers have been defeated, and the Commonwealth soldiers have been introduced. There are still a number of outstanding questions as we head into the six bonus episodes for season 10, but perhaps the most pressing one is this: who is the masked ninja introduced in the 15th episode and revealed to be a companion of Maggie’s in the 16th episode?
Why put this ninja in a mask if not to create some mystery around this person’s identity? Who could it be? The Internet has been brewing up some theories on this for several weeks now, and these are the leading contenders:
Duane Jones — One theory that sounds very far-fetched to me, but that has gained some traction in the fan community is that the masked ninja is Duane Jones, the son of Morgan. Fans of the series may recall that Morgan Jones went mad after his son, Duane, died trying to put down his zombiefied mother. However, this theory suggests that since we never actually saw Duane die that perhaps Morgan didn’t see him die, either, and that Duane disappeared and has somehow resurfaced and taken on the identity of the masked stranger. This one is a super long shot.

Troy Otto — This theory, popularized by Forbes, again presupposes that a character we believe is dead — Madison Clark killed him with a hammer in the season three finale — actually survived his injury. We never saw Troy Otto die, ergo, he must have not-died, left the Mexico border, and traveled to wherever Maggie has been and learned a lot of ninja skills. I have my doubts about this theory, as well, mostly because what made Troy so interesting — he was a charismatic, morally dubious sleazeball — also makes him a very unlikely companion to Maggie.
Eduardo — Eduardo is a relatively minor character who was a guard at The Hilltop and appeared in a number of episodes during seasons six through eight. He hasn’t been seen since season 8, but at one point, showrunner Angela Kang said that the character was still alive (and probably still residing at The Hilltop, back when The Hilltop still existed). I’m not keen on this theory if only because Eduardo would not actually be a particularly interesting reveal. Most fans probably don’t even remember him. A lot of red shirts have come through The Hilltop, and there’s little reason to give this role to a largely forgettable character.

Heath — We haven’t seen Heath since midway through the seventh season of The Walking Dead when Corey Hawkins — the character who plays Heath — left the series to do the 24 revival, which was canceled after one season. There is no reason to believe that he is no longer alive, and Scott Gimple has suggested that his return to the series is possible. That would be a fun reveal, but it’s unlikely for the same reasons that Corey Hawkins left the series to begin with: He’s very busy and very in-demand.
Mercer — Mercer is a character in the comics, who is the military leader of the Commonwealth. A number of people immediately theorized that the masked person could be Mercer as soon as we first caught a glimpse of him. However, Angela Kang has definitively ruled out that possibility.
Midge or Hilda — Remember Midge and Hilda, the twins flanking Georgie when she was originally introduced? It could be one of them, because, after all, they are the only people other than Georgie with whom we are familiar from that group of people, with whom we know Maggie has been living in recent years. It wouldn’t be that interesting, but it would make sense.

Madison Clark — This is obviously a huge longshot, but Madison — who was killed off in the fourth season of Fear the Walking Dead — was last seen striking a flare and lighting up a horde of oil-soaked zombies. She was presumed dead but, again, we never saw her die. If she was severely burnt in that incident but survived, it would explain why she’s wearing a mask, wouldn’t it? And she has had roughly seven or eight years since that incident in The Walking Dead timeline to learn how to be a ninja assassin. No problem!
It could also be no one we have ever met or heard of before. The good news is, we will be finding out in the Spring when The Walking Dead returns, because Angela Kang said that the bonus episodes will fill us in on Maggie’s whereabouts since she left Alexandria. We are also expected to see Maggie confront Negan for the first time since nearly killing him in Season 9. It should be a great six episodes.
Five years removed from her last appearance on the show, Adele returned to the Saturday Night Live stage, this time as a host. She made the announcement last week less than 24 hours after the October 17 episode on Instagram in an overjoyed and excitement-filled post. Fulfilling her hosting duties for the bulk of the show, Adele did use one sketch to bless viewers with her vocals, as many hoped she would. Recreating ABC’s popular show, The Bachelor, Adele joined a few contestants in hopes of earning her shot with the lone bachelor.
During the sketch, Adele used the opportunity to slip in some of her hit songs as she sang short pieces of “Someone Like You,” “When We Were Young,” “Hello,” and “Rolling in the Deep.” The 25 singer would break out of the conversation and the normal routine of the The Bachelor show to stand up and sing to the audience.
Adele also used the hosting opportunity to update fans on her upcoming album during her opening monologue.
“I know there’s been a lot of chatter about me just being the host,” she said. “Like ‘Why isn’t she the musical guest?’ and stuff like that. And there’s a couple of reasons. My album’s not finished, and I’m also too scared to do both.” She added, “I’d rather just put on some wigs… have a glass of wine or six and just see what happens.”

The topic of this week’s Saturday Night Live cold open seemed as predetermined at this point as anything in our tenuous existence. The final presidential debate of the 2020 election was an easy guess, and having Jim Carrey and Alec Baldwin locked in to play Joe Biden and Donald Trump, respectively, made it inevitable the show would start with a recreation of Thursday’s events in Nashville.
This time, however, the sketch followed suit from what actually happened on stage: a quieter, mostly more understandable debate that was well-moderated by Kristen Welker. Maya Rudolph, who usually plays vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris, played Welker on the night and, like on Thursday, was complimented for it by Baldwin’s Trump. Who also, mind you, called Welker by several other names of female women of color.
This week’s guest who didn’t actually appear at the debate was Kate McKinnon’s Rudy Giuliani, who started by making a… suggestive gesture with their back turned to the camera.
“No, no, it’s not what it looks like,” McKinnon said. “My microphone was stuck… on my balls.”
“Is this another Borat?” McKinnon’s Giuliani said. “You have to tell me if it’s another Borat.”
The phrases “bird guacamole” and “Joe Biden is from Kenya” all came up, as did two references to Biden’s love of trains. Fittingly, the debate moderator was apparently playing Joe Biden bingo throughout the entire thing, which is basically what the cold open amounts to on SNL these days. The sketch certainly referenced some things that happened during the debate on Thursday, and a few that did not. But by the end of it, win or lose, a few boxes get checked off and everyone gets to move on.
Adele hosting Saturday Night Live was an interesting experiment for the singer. You could argue her career in America was launched by her appearance on the show eight years ago, but whether she could handle the rigors of hosting — and the hectic nature of appearing in several sketches while trying to be funny — was unclear.
Every episode of SNL is different, but the show did its best to keep Adele doing things familiar to her. A sketch about The Bachelor, for example, had her quite literally playing herself and singing some of her biggest hits, while others had her doing more out there roles. One of those, however, proved to be a bit too much for an extremely giggly Adele. She starts to lose it just 30 seconds into the sketch, needing an extra moment to try to say her lines with a straight face.
At times doubled over with laughter and struggling to hide a smile, the singer appeared in a commercial for Africa’s tourism board with Kate McKinnon. Things started out fine, but as the double entendres about “bamboo” and other sexually suggestive bits built up, Adele was unable to keep it together and often broke character well before Heidi Gardner appeared on screen with them to say you can feel the rhythm of the place “in your stomach.”
Despite the multiple gaffes, the crowd was extremely supportive of Adele as she giggled and struggled to hide her laughter. The script for the sketch — which included a number of extremely suggestive lines while couples appearing to be increasingly enamored with each other passed behind them — certainly didn’t give her many breaks to catch her breath.
“Last night,” Adele said, giggling ahead of reading the lines off of cue cards, “I saw the face of god.”
The sketch: built on the belief that divorced women of “a certain age” seem to love visiting Africa, drew some ire on Twitter afterward. Either people loved seeing Adele laugh through it, or wondered if it wasn’t very appropriate or nuanced considering a pandemic making international travel impossible, not to mention anti-police brutality protests that have grown in Nigeria in recent weeks and attracted international attention.
That Africa skit was tone def, insensitive and inappropriate. Men and women in Nigeria, Namibia, South Africa and The Democratic Republic of the Congo are fighting for their lives and to reduce the continent as sexual destination for white women is shameful. #SNL

I promise…I promise. I’m not in think piece mode on a Saturday night. But not feeling this #snl Africa skit aside from Adele breaking. If you’re gonna try to touch that, it’s gotta be just a little smarter & more nuanced or don’t touch it at all. Not rn.
During musical guest HER’s second performance, for example, each member of her backing band wore a shirt with the hashtag #ENDSARS on it, a reference to the ongoing crisis there. But regardless of how well the sketch went over online, at least Adele made sure it got some laughs from somewhere.
The Tampa Bay Rays were down to their final out in Game 4 after seeing the Dodgers take a 7-6 lead after yet another two-out RBI single from L.A. off the bat of Corey Seager in the top of the eighth.
Randy Arozarena came to the plate with Kevin Keirmaier on first and worked a tremendous at-bat to get a walk, bringing Brett Phillips, who has been abysmal with the bat all season, to the plate. Phillips, who entered the game as a pinch runner for Ji-Man Choi earlier in the game, came up against the Dodgers embattled closer Kenley Jansen and was able to fight off a cutter just far enough to get past the shift and into center field — for his first career postseason hit!
Keirmaier scored easily, but a pair of errors by the Dodgers, the first by Chris Taylor who wasn’t able to pick the ball up cleanly and then by Will Smith at the plate, allowed Randy Arozarena to score the game-winning run from first despite tripping and doing a barrel roll midway down the third baseline in one of the wildest finishes you’ll ever see.
That sequence of events allowed Tampa Bay to even the World Series at 2-2, as the Dodgers seemingly imploded as a collective unit at the worst possible time. Arozarena would’ve been out by a mile since he tripped, but because Smith was assuming he was going to have to make a quick tag, he took his eyes off the ball and failed to secure it. Just look at this!
It was a ridiculous finish to a ridiculous game, in which the Dodgers scored all seven of their runs with two outs, continuing a preposterous two-out hitting streak this postseason, and the Rays just kept finding ways to answer every time the Dodgers produced runs — someone scored in every inning but the second as they traded leads and ties until Tampa came out, somehow, on top.
Phillips’ post-game interview is an all-timer as he recounted what he saw from second base amidst the chaos.
Saturday’s Saturday Night Live featured Adele hosting duties, though she did manage to sing a bit in at least one sketch. But a commercial bump during her episode revealed who will host a Halloween night episode, and it’s a familiar face to anyone who’s paid attention to the sketch comedy show over the last year.
NBC announced that John Mulaney would return to host Saturday Night Live for the second time this year. The show announced that Mulaney would host, with The Strokes serving as musical guests in the fourth straight new SNL episode of Season 46. The show’s traditional index cards soon hit Twitter, confirming that the Diner Lobster man himself would come back for one last run in 2020.
Mulaney wrapping up the last of the pre-election SNLs will cap what’s been a busy year for him at Studio 8H. The standup has hosted three times in a 12-month period, last taking the duties in late February in an episode that could joke about an upcoming coronavirus pandemic, not get created during the middle of it. It’s also worth noting that Mulaney has played Joe Biden in the past, though it seems likely that Jim Carrey will keep that gig right up until (and perhaps past) election day.
It would be truly impressive if Mulaney manages to get another Airport Sushi in the works on such short notice, but at the very least SNL viewers should be ready for one of the sharpest monologues in some time. The last time he hosted he had to get several lawyers to clear some Trump jokes, so it’s safe to say the bar is high for whatever he does next.
