Lil Nas X Offers A Hilarious Response To A Strange ‘Old Town Road’ Promise He Once Made His Fans

In March of 2019, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, which it would go on to rule the chart for a record 19 weeks. A couple months later, as he often does, Lil Nas X took to Twitter to share a joke, writing, “when old town road goes diamond i’m sending all my followers a copy of phineas & ferb season 3 on blu ray.” Maybe he didn’t think the song would ever get the ten million sales it needed to achieve Diamond status, but sure enough, it did: It was announced back in October that “Old Town Road” had earned Diamond certification. Last month, meanwhile, the song crossed the 12-million-sale threshold.

Well, Lil Nas X has about 4.5 million followers on Twitter, so he’s on the hook for a lot of Phineas And Ferb Blu-rays, and fans aren’t letting him forget it.

This afternoon, one of Lil Nas X’s fans reminded him that he owes him (and millions of others) their Phineas And Ferb Blu-rays. Lil Nas X responded to the fan, writing on Twitter, “never think that i didn’t try.” The tweet also featured a video, which shows a phone screen recording of the rapper trying to find the Blu-ray on Amazon, only to discover that it is “currently unavailable.” The video then cuts to a clip of Lil Nas X shaking his head and crying in disappointment.

For the record, though, fans should have seen this coming: Shortly after making his initial Phineas And Ferb announcement, Lil Nas X tweeted, “ok maybe i lied.”

Lil Nas X has been on it with the Twitter jokes lately, as he also recently celebrated his birthday with some choice memes.

Nicolas Cage’s First Ever TV Role Will Be Playing The Tiger King Himself, Joe Exotic

Is anyone else surprised that if you do a Google Image search for “nicolas cage tiger,” there are no photos of him posing with a tiger, probably while surrounded by goblets? All that shows up is the actor wearing a tiger shirt in Mandy and this weird Photoshop of him as Siegfried & Roy (find you a man who can do both). That’s about to change, though, as Cage is set to star in a series about Joe Exotic, the subject of Netflix’s Tiger King.

Variety reports that the series, based on the Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild” by Leif Reigstad, “will be taken to market in the coming days” and is being overseen by Dan Lagana, the creator of American Vandal. “Did Carole Baskin kill her husband” has nothing on “Who drew the dicks?”

Here’s more on the series:

The story centers around Joe Schreibvogel, a.k.a Joe Exotic, an eccentric, exotic zookeeper in Oklahoma who fights to keep his park even at the risk of losing his sanity. The series will live in the lion’s den with Joe, explore how he became Joe Exotic, and how he lost himself to a character of his own creation.

This is Cage’s first TV role in his career, and it’s instantly my new favorite show.

ESPN Will Broadcast Six Live Korean Baseball Games Each Week

While there are no live sporting events happening stateside for at least a few more weeks until NASCAR and UFC make their foray back into action, there are leagues around the world working towards a return.

The Korean Baseball Organization is among the biggest that will be back in action soon, starting with games on Tuesday, May 5, and six of those games each week — one each night/morning Tuesday through Sunday — will be broadcast on ESPN. The four-letter announced their agreement with Eclat Media Group to carry six games per week live stateside, with Karl Ravech and Jon Sciambi handling play-by-play duties with Eduardo Perez, Kyle Peterson, and Jessica Mendoza on color commentary from their respective homes.

The games will typically run at 5:30 a.m. ET Tuesday through Friday, with a 4 a.m. ET game on Saturday and 1 a.m. ET game on Sunday. For opening day, ESPN will have the NC Dinos vs. Samsung Lions on Tuesday at 1 a.m. (10 p.m. PT Monday) with Ravech and Perez on the call.

The full schedule for this week’s games can be found below, and while the times aren’t exactly ideal, it’s some live sports to watch (or DVR and watch later), and that’s something to be celebrated.
